I decided to start the MC now because our church, beginning January 4, will begin 21 days of consecration [will begin with vegetables and fruit, then move to liquids and the last 24-48 hours, I believe will be a thorough/complete fast along with 21 consecutive days of 1 hour worship service].

We're preparing to move back into our main sanctuary for the first time since Katrina!!!!

I will end January 4 which will be 18 days cleansing and four days to transition off the MC.

Last night I went to bed before 8. I've cleanse 3 times since December 2008 and each time I cleansed, I would sleep 9-12 hours the first few nights cleansing. The rest of the cleanse, I would have insane amounts of energy but would also get a decent amount of rest. These are the "side effects" I love about the cleanse.

    Today is day 2.
I feel achy [a common experience on the MC for me.] Other than that, I feel great. It's Christmas break and spring semester [My last semester at LSU. Woooooooo hooooo!!!! ] starts January 19. So I'm cleansing, making random things and taking it easy.

    Be blessed today!!!

Hi all. Just starting my second MC. Yes, that means I'll be cleansing through Christmas, but I really wanted to get this in before the New Year.

It's seeming pretty daunting already, but I'm going to get through it. Good luck to everyone.

hi all. I'm so happy i found this website. I've been struggling with my weight and health for a while now. I've wanted to start the cleanse but after day one i just give into the craving. I feel sad, eat and attempt to do it again the next day and so forth. Now, after reading through some of the comments on the website, i feel that i'm not alone in this. I'm not the only one who feels these cravings, dizziness, etc... i understand now it's all part of the process. I'm going to start my cleanse tomorrow. I'll be posting my journey here. I'm 5'2 and my weight is 198. well, here we go.

Future Newbie here...I haven't stared MC, yet. I plan to after this work week is over since I won't return to work unil Jan 4th and thought this would be the best time for a newbie. I have read, "Lose Weight, Have More Energy & Be Happier in 10 Days" and I'm mentally preparing myself for Day 1.

I have done Dr Natura and been satisfied with results but really want to thoroughly clean out my system. I am very much looking forward to Day 1 and plan to log in to the board everyday since I will need A LOT of support, especially during the holidays. I did not want to pig out toward the end of the year just to start the cleanse in January,.. especially since I have time off from work, I need to take advantage of it and stay home for those first 3 or so critical days!!

What do I expect??? Besides the obvious such as...feeling better and weight loss, most importantly, clarity of mind, a more spiritual experience and hoping to better deal with my sugar addiction and emotional eating we'll see how it goes.

    Thank you for reading!

Gooooooood Morrrnnnnning!! [<---I'm so amped up right now!!!!]

Today is day 3!!! I feel "Tony the tiger" Great!!! While I'm on semester break, I'm decluttering. Can't bring certain things, habits, spirits, and mindsets with me to 2010. It has to go.

I hope you guys feel as energized as I do right now.

    Be blessed.

Reading Peter's book is the first step. You're one of the few who actually read the book first so Super Duper Kudo's to you. Pretty much what you read is what to expect.

Since this is "detox" you'll experience some down days and achy stuff and you may feel like you're coming down with the flu. It's all a part of getting the toxins out.

You may also experience better sleep with vivid dreams. Sometimes you'll find yourself on a spiritual cleanse as well. You can get very introspective and its' good. You'll realize what a gift food is and how much of our lives revolve around it.

Pain that you may experience in daily life could completely go away.

Your sense of smell will heighten. That can be good or bad. I always smell stinky feet at work. Your sinuses could drain a lot.

Fat that holds toxins will melt away. I always call Day 15 my *magical* day because for me that's when things really kick into gear.

You really will have more energy but *sometimes you're tired throughout the cleanse. It's ok. Not everyone is exactly the same. Some of us are more toxic than others.

You may or may not experience hunger. Same thing, we're all different and each cleanse is different too.

Every time you feel a hunger pang keep this in mind; you're cleaning out your body and losing weight. You won't die and you WILL eat again. It's a brief span of time in a 365 day year and you REALLY can do this.

Unfortunately the 2009 thread has disappeared but the thread for 2008 is still here. You may want to start at the beginning and work your way forward. You can experience vicariously the highs and lows the of cleanse.

It always ends up the same; people who swear they can't make it 10 days end up exceeding their own expectations.

You will get a huge sense of confidence when you reach your goal and you'll feel compelled to encourage others.

Then hopefully you'll make better food choices inbetween your cleanses. Whether or not you do you will have a new awareness regarding eating. Exercise is a must. Just walking is a huge deal if you do it daily. We weren't meant to just sit. We turn to blobs and get extremely unhealthy physically and mentally.

You're a step ahead of the rest because you have "prepared ahead of time". Again, bravo to you.

No, you're not alone. And you're spot on regarding the "process" aspect of this. We spend our entire lives eating wrong and bad and expect to have it all magically work in just 10 days. That's not true. It's just a great start. Burroughs stated that you can do the cleanse up to 4 times a year and that you can safely cleanse for 40 days each time. <-- careful on that last one. Maybe check with a doctor first if you think you're fairly toxic.

During my first few cleanses I was able to lose 60 lbs in 6 months. I've kept most of it off but fluctuate due to a thyroid issue - a real thyroid issue.

You have to start somewhere and in my opinion, this is the best place to start.

    Welcome Aboard!

Yesterday I was tired and was in bed most of the day. Today, I'm on a mission, sipping tea as I'm getting rid of some stuff [stuff in my house ].

During my other MC's, I averaged 8-10 glasses of lemonade per day.
For this MC, I'm averaging 4-6 glasses. I know that 6 is the minimum. But, I'm just not hungry. And when my stomach finally growls, I don't drink much. I like the taste and have since my first MC. However, after a few sips, I feel "full."

Should I increase to 6, even though I don't feel I need it?

Yes because you do. I schedule my glasses of lemonade when I'm feeling like you are. I make sure I have 4 down by noon or 1 and then the other 2 by 5:30pm. You can schedule however you want but that's how I have to do it sometimes. You need the 6 glasses.
