I came upon a site with a lady that makes everything at home (I mean it all-cheese, bread, butter etc) all organic. I spent days on this site which lead to another like it and then another still. I learned all I could about pastured animals, grass fed butter, meat, pasture raised eggs and meat etc. Then I decided we have the room for some chickens. So, in small words, I pay all this to my cleanse. If I hadn't done the cleanse, I wouldn't have found the organic lifestyle that we now live by, I wouldn't have the chickens, the turkeys, the veggie garden. I used to think people who were all about organics were hippie, tree-huggin types. But that isn't so, it is how I kept the weight off. So the site that I recommend for recipes (like my honey whole wheat bread) is heavenlyhomemakers.com the other two I found afterwards with good recipes too, are kitchenstewardship.com and thenourishinggourmet.com.
How much do I love you right now Bubbles!!!!! This sounds so fantastic. I am going to check them out. I have been looking for something I could follow and enjoy without going totally out of my realm. I am so not the vegan type and I couldn't really get into the totally raw lifestyle (absolutely nothing wrong with them, but not for me). I even bought the book "Eat Right for Your Blood Type". I love shrimp and avocado too much to follow that. I am going to check them out as soon as I finish here. Thank you so much. I truly hope your day is going wonderfully.

Dollface - NO - I did not put any food in my mouth and chew it up and spit it out!!! I am SOOOO proud of you, 40 days. That is unimaginable for me, my first cleanse and only day five. I hope you don't go away now that you've completed your goal.

Ursa - your soup sounds sooo yummy. I cannot even look at recipes right now, way too hard.

Have a wonderful afternoon everyone . . . I have chores that are calling my name.

God bless each and every one of you!

P.S. The one thing that I've learned about myself so far is that it really is possible to not eat for five whole days! I know you were probably hoping for something more insightful . . . give me a few more days.
CONGRATULATIONS ON THE NEW JOB!! and you were worried.

I had a feeling you didn't chew and spit. You are the bomb!! No worries, I won't leave until the weekend. I still have my transition period to go. No solids for me until late Friday. I never thought in a million years that I would be able to do 40 days, so glad to have dinner with my husband very soon.

You are doing so wonderful. I have a feeling you are going to become a lifelong lemonhead. Have fun doing your chores and have a wonderful first day at work tomorrow. HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!!

Ursa -thanks for reminding me about the mint tea! I forgot that we can have an occasional cup, it did help.

Dollfacegreene- I am trying to go for 15 days but I might cut it short at 10 idk it just depends on how I feel. CONGRATS!!! on becoming one of those "crazy people" lol I like the way you put that because whenever I read about people doing a cleanse for so long thats exactly what I say. I hope to join you one day! lol. You are truely an inspiration and you make it seem so easy.

I hope everyone is having a great day!
Way to go Tata001. Working out makes such a big difference, doesn't it. Glad you are back on track.

Thank you so much. I decided in January to do 40 in September and I talked to myself the whole time to get my mind right for it. I don't think I could have done it if I hadn't. I really have to say prayer had a lot to do with the ease of completion. One day you will step over to the "crazy" side. Have a great evening and I hope tomorrow is a better.

I'm worried the tea will still be doing it's thing by that point which could get pretty uncomfortable in the two hours of transit time.

Also thanks for the recipe sites Bubbles! I am thinking this honey whole wheat bread might be a nice treat for day 3 off the cleanse! Looks delicious...
Hey Emily, you really can't skip the evening lax tea or morning lax tea/SWF.. What you can do is alter the time you drink it. What time do you usually drink the tea in the evening? If you drink it earlier, around 530pm, it should work before you leave. If you drink it as late as possible, it shouldn't work until after you get to work. Then you could drink the SWF or Tea after you get there. Are bathroom runs going to work for you after you get to work? If you don't drink the tea and do the SWF, everything that you detoxed during the previous day will resettle and you will experience those detox symptoms over again. I hope that helps. Good luck tomorrow.

    Greetings all!
Well here we go again. My annual Fall MC. I am on day 6 now...don't know how long this one is going to be. Every other time, I had a set end date...but this time around...I am going to see how things are going day by day. I will at least do my usual 10day fast. Alhhhhhh...it is a welcomed friend.

Good luck everyone and I will definitely be back.

It's a little difficult right now to keep my appetite in check. hahaha I really want some sunflower seeds. and peanuts. and macadamia nuts. and rice crackers. Oh well, by the end of this week I should be able to eat whatever I want but for now I'm going to enjoy soup!
YUM. Sounds like that is going to be some great soup. I bought mustard greens, tomatoes, red potatoes, butternut squash, bell pepper, water chestnuts, onions, carrots, broccoli, cabbage, mushrooms, celery, black beans and herbs. I can't wait to taste it. I see we have something in common. I am dying for almonds, cashews, any kind of nuts. I have them in the house too and they keep staring at me.
