For newbies I am posting this link from one of Peter's recent newsletters on detoxing too fast. It covers detox symptoms and can provide a better understanding of what you are going through. Check it out.

Thanks and best wishes to all.
Welcome Cuckoo, you are awesome for doing something that can change your life. We are glad to have you at the lemon party. Only 7 days left, no problem. Hang in there fellow lemonhead. You inspire me cooking while cleansing; I never could master that part.

I'm on day two & am doing ok. I was wondering if I can drink decafinated herbal tea in addition to the Smooth Move (which I do not like). I tried the peppermint tea & was not a fan of that either. Blueberry tea is one of my favorites, will that work?

No, you would not be able to use any other tea. The sole purposes for the peppermint tea are for helping curb bad breath and for easing upset stomach; so it is not something that you will be using all the time. The laxative tea is kind of yuck, but I add just a little of the maple syrup to help with the flavor. You don't want to add anything that is going to stimulate cravings. Hope this helps. Way to go Bookends, you are on a roll.

Welcome to all those who are just starting their journey, Good for YOU!! Katlady, Linda Kay, Missy1 and Cliffonhill I am glad you are here. It was getting lonely. Sounds like everyone is experiencing early stage detoxing. Hang in there.

So far things are still going strong. All I keep thinking is I have only 13 days to go. I am loving the clean feeling I have inside, but I miss food. I am hoping my "food snobbery" will continue when I start eating again. The thought of butter, chocolate, beef, processed foods and fast foods are making my stomach turn. But a nice salad with tons of veggies and fruit would be so refreshing. In due time, self, in due time. My tongue is starting to clear up very nicely, finally. I am increasing my water intake to help with dry mouth and breath that can kill a camel. No hunger, no food dreams(yet), but lots of energy. I still can't believe how well this cleanse is going compared to others in the past.

Everyone keep on striving and stay focused on your goals.
Dollfacegreene! Sounds like you are doing well! I miss this board and I miss cleansing, as strange as that sounds. Eating raw has been going so-so...I'm at 30% raw. Not a lot yet. I've been making some great smoothies with fruit and veggies every morning, which has been great. It's been tougher with lunch and dinner, I've been having veggie sandwiches and indulging in a few favorites.

So glad to see you continuing in your supportive role with all of the new cleansers! You are such an inspiration and I know you'll breeze through the last couple of weeks. I might not have a chance to check in again as we are hurtling towards the wedding and SO much to do that I had NO idea. Just wanted to tell you thank you for your support and friendship and looking forward to "seeing" you again in January. You're awesome!

I have a question about brushing teeth. I read in Peter Glickman's book that he only uses water. So far, that is what I have been doing, but I am really starting to feel self conscious about my breath. What do the rest of you do?

Brushing your teeth is fine. Just don't eat the toothpaste, LOL!

But on a cleanse usually the answer to bad breath is more water, water, water. A cup of mint tea is okay, too. But don't do that very often.

    Day 1

So far so good. My saltwater flush took a little longer than usual to "kick in" but I think that has happened on a day 1 before. It's interesting that in my last few cleanses, my body embraces it right away and I don't really go through the battles I had in the beginning of my earliest cleanses. One thing I'm doing differently this time around is that I finally got the citrus juicer. I have strong hands and have always just hand squeezed but it got to be tiresome after a week or more of it. It was rather funny that I ordered 20 gallons of water this week. hahaha it's such a telltale sign that I'm about to cleanse.

dollfacegree, Thanks for the welcome! I don't know yet on my length. Of course I will at least do the 10 days and am vaguely thinking 21 days would be good. Now that I'm not hand-squeezing my lemons/limes I may never feel the urge to stop. I'll see how it goes and what happens with my body, what my tongue shows me, etc.

bookends, I'm sorry you are having trouble with the tea. It is important not to substitute with another type of tea such as detox or nighttime tea but perhaps you can find another senna tea that suits your tastes better than the brand you currently use. The mint tea is also not necessary, you can skip it completely. It's meant as an occasional option but can also not be replaced with another tea altogether. Again, you might prefer a different brand of herbal mint tea, perhaps with a blend of mints instead of just peppermint. I am pretty sure that any type of mint leaf is acceptable.

Ahuahu, are you getting married? That's so exciting!

Cuckoo, I brush my teeth when I cleanse. I usually just use baking soda normally anyway and I don't swallow it. I wonder if the baking soda after lemonade can reduce risks of the lemon harming tooth enamel. hmmm Well, my teeth are always fine with this routine so I never really pondered it before.

mtmouse, hello! Nice to be here with you and everyone.

Cool Re: 2010: What day are you on and how are you doing?

MC3 D4 - Yesterday was hard because of some very strong detox symptoms I was having in my back. I decided to workout and felt better after and in the evening it got worse. Took a hot bath and that worked for a short time and then got increasingly worse? Didn't sleep too well because of it of course. This morning it was better thank goodness. I think I'll drink more water today maybe that will help? Not craving as much as I have in the past (so far). Trying to stay positive. I see several others are having issues right now as well and I wonder if the weather could be effecting our spirits more that the detox?
