That way if I get off the cleanse where I need to be it will cause me to strictly follow the menu I set out for 3 days then after. But, that's just me. .

Dollface, thanks for the great idea of putting that saying on a post it! I love doing stuff like that too. Putting one in your car and at work is a great idea too!

I'm hoping we get a lot of people posting all of this weekend to keep things interesting and to purge ourselves with one another! I won't be going to any functions because I don't want to be around food. .

Good for you Lynda on the weight loss. It is amazing the mind games we have to play with ourselves to get us going. I know that feeling all too well. I have a band of fat cells around my lower abs that thinks it holds the deed to. I am still trying to evict them. 40 days should do it, I hope. I will be here this weekend too. No plans at all. Grand children and family are all on the east coast and I too don't want to smell no BBQ. Hubby and I will probably go hiking, of course the gym and just hang out and chill out. Bible study, play Farmville and chat with my fellow lemonheads are also on the agenda. Have a great day today!!!

As for the sweet potato pie, it is a family recipe that I promised I won't share also. I am sorry. Someone the other day asked me the same question. That is why I make so many. I don't share the recipe, so I make a lot of them to give away to my special friends. I thought about selling them, but the looks of enjoyment and the compliments are a better profit than money. If you are ever in Vegas, you can be my guest at the gym and we can workout together and I will make a sweet potato pie just for you. I promise.
I had a feeling you were going to say that the pie recipe was a family secret - all the really best stuff usually is! But I am SO taking you up on your offer. You know my son is in Vegas (works at the Hard Rock) so you just may find me at your door someday, begging for sweet potato pie!
I just turned 50 in August and am not quite going through menopause yet. I have had some symptoms, but they are few and far between - Feb '08, Aug '08, July '10 were the only times. So I guess that's pre-menopausal? Most of the info that's easily available is all about hormone therapy. I am convinced that the Master Cleanse is going to help me make a smooth transition as long as I stick with it, clean myself out thoroughly, and maintain a healthy diet. Maybe that's why I've had so few symptoms, and the change is taking it's own sweet time. We'll see how it goes. I have no intention of ever stopping cleansing, now that I've felt the benefits...so I'll be reporting along through the years.
At some point, I'll probably have to drop my Master Cleanse tally on my signature...how many is too many to count? 40? 50? 100 Master Cleanses? lol. I can live with that.

Having said that...I'm very tempted by food today. Living in a tourist town and seeing all the people up here crowding the roads, going to outdoor restaurants....oh, boy!...I wish I were one of them. But I have no money right now anyway, so I might as well do something good for myself while I conserve my resources.

P.S. Got a near-new pair of shoes (brown suede pumps) and a small corningware bake dish for $1. Yeah!

Drink peppermint tea to help with the breath and use a tongue scraper to cleanse your tongue. Awesome news, that means the cleanse is working as it should. Once the tongue goes totally pink, you know you have been cleansed. In 10 cleanses I never reached the FULL pink tongue, almost all pink yes. Hopefully since I am going 40 days I will get the chance to get rid of everything and have a FULL pink tongue. Many blessings and have a wonderful day.
I going to try to go until my tongue turns pink, however I miss eating

Good for you. Listen to your body, you will know when to quit. Make sure when you quit, you will have no regrets: even if you don't get a pink tongue. I still have 30 days to go, so I will watch for you. Hang in there. The food will be there no matter when you finish.

Well its day 10 of 40 and today is much better so far than yesterday. I made myself sick by not getting the right amount of lemonade in the right amount of time. Although I did drink tons of water, it wasn't enough. In the morning I went to the gym after 1 1/2 servings of lemonade and worked out with my husband. We worked in the "meat head" section of the gym, did chest, shoulders and calves. In between I did balance and stretching. Ran errands and then "tried" to take a 30 minute nap before Zumba at 5:30. When I got home at 7, I was so wasted, hungry, irritable, hungry, nauseous, hungry I wanted to cry. I got my lemonades in and then later my tea and felt better, even though husband was eating in front of me. That was yesterday and this is today.

Lesson learned: make sure you get the proper amount of servings "throughout" the day. Force them in if you have to, use a straw, fill your stomach, curb your hunger, Get all your servings in. DRINK LOTS OF WATER, pee a lot!

New quote for the day: I would rather pee, than to be hungry!!

Everyone have a blessed and safe day!!

That was my 9th month pregnancy weight back in the 70's. I haven't STAYED at this weight for more than 3 days in the past 10 years. (unpregnant) Although weight loss is not a priority for this cleanse, I still wanted to have an idea what the statistics were. I think I will get my body fat % taken at the gym; I am curious now. My overall weight goal is 130lbs and 19 % body fat, this I prayerfully hope to reach and maintain. Since I am now post menopausal, it seems I have to work so much harder to try to reach and maintain my goal weight. I know I have pretty good muscle tone and definition, you just can't see it all under the fat layer. This year I did P90X classic and lean, BUT DIDNT FOLLOW THE FOOD GUIDELINES. (Told myself I didn't need to. That was a joke.) So I got the muscle definition, strength, balance and flexibility, but not so much fat loss. {P90X is a great workout, BTW}

This is one of the reasons I love the Master Cleanse so much. It really helps you to focus on your relationship with food. I find that I eat just to amuse myself sometimes. BAD REASON TO EAT!! Living in Vegas with all the buffets and locals discounts. HARD TO RESIST!! Trying to keep up with the appetite of a muscle head husband. CAN'T ANYMORE!!! I AM IN STEALTH MODE NOW!! I am sneaking up on my saboteurs and taking them out one at a time. I have 31 days to get my head together so I can survive the holiday season coming up. Especially since I make around 40 sweet potato pies every season(down home country style pies). MY NEW GOAL: Don't use January 2011 cleanse to make up for bad habits of 2010 Holiday Season.

Now that I have confessed to everyone, I must commit to myself. DONE!!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!!

Hope I didn't bore you with my rambling, that was very therapeutic. Thanks for listening.
    Hi Dollface!

I love hearing your thoughts. I agree with so much of what you've said here. It's really crazy how much I use justification when it comes to eating (as far as "deserving" something or "earning" something fattening or SAD). This cleanse (now on Day 8, so officially my longest ever) has helped me to see even more clearly how much I eat out of boredom or for comfort (especially cheese, apparently ).

We've done P90X but not with regularity, so I don't think I've really reaped the benefits. Maybe that's something I need to commit to as well instead of just running. I'll get a good workout just moving the furniture out of the way!

    Thanks again for sharing.

I am so glad I sat down to read all of your posts! I am only on day three and you have remotivated me! I am not feeling so great today (mainly because of this ridiculous headache!) but I assume this will pass. This is my first cleanse of this kind. I do a raw fruit and vegetable cleanse every year but decided to go with the Master Cleanse this time.

So, from what I have read it sounds like day three is commonly a "wall" and things should improve after this? Do you agree? I would love to hear your own experiences. Any tips on how to deal with the headache? Any other day that tends to be worse than others? Thanks!

Ahuahu -- Thanks for telling me about why you drank 2 cups of tea that night. I am almost ready for my cup now. Just finishing the last cup of lemonade and then I'll drink some water. I also drink water throughout the night.

My husband is in Mass and I will have to go out there any day now for his dad's funeral. This is selfish, but I really wanted to go for 22 days on the MC and I will have to stop the day I fly out. With all that will be going on there I know that circumstances won't allow me to continue with the MC. This is my 13th Day. I lost 13 pounds and I am at 140 now. I am happy about that, but I was going to start going to the gym this Monday. I have done Walk Away the Pounds with Leslie Sansone and my stretch regimen, but I felt I could do more to tone my body and get rid of the fat hanging around my middle. Well, I will just have to do the MC again in a few months time. I love doing it and always look forward to chatting on the BB with you fabulous folks.

Good luck everyone and hang in there.

Ahuahu you are so welcome!! Congratulations on day 8 soon to be day 9. We are such a rare breed, aren't we! So you know of Tony Horton, lol, you should try P90X again. I didn't follow the food plan, but I stuck to the routine pretty well, it really helped my strength and the yoga one is awesome. I would take my laptop to the gym with me and do the dvd's after groupx classes.
