Hi Teepee: Welcome back! Glad you had a great time and I'm sorry about the rash..sounds like a food allergy.

For the Vertigo: grate some fresh ginger and pour boiling water over it and let it steep. Sweeten it with Stevia, Maple or Raw Agave nectar and sip. You'll be amazed at what Ginger can do for dizziness, sea-sickness, vertigo and morning sickness. Plus it does a bunch of other stuff take a peek Health Benefits of Ginger.

Okay now, has anyone read Kevin Trudeau's book about weight loss? I just finished it and would love to discuss this with any of you. I'll take this up in the after the cleanse thread.

We're glad you're back Teepee and ready to hear some more of your wisdom!

    Love,
    ~Res

Hi TeePee - welcome home. T&C truly is bee-yoo-tee-full. I thought you'd love it there. Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well though.

I've been eating too much cooked food. I leave the 18th for Curacao. The place I'm staying doesn't have much raw food on their menu. When I get home I'm going to cleanse again. I'm thinking 40 days. I'm taking 12 steps to raw with me to read and "digest" LOL

Ginger: You can only do the best you can while you are on vacation and that has to be good enough. I am reading "12 Steps to Raw" as well, although I am not on vacation! Not sure that would be my book of choice on vacation, but then again, why not?? ;p

    Thanks Res and Ginger!!

It is good to be back, even though that island was the most beautiful I've seen!!! And there was PLENTY of raw fruits and veggies, just plenty of other tempting treats too!!

I am getting back on track. The bumps and rash seem to have gone away, for the most part. Gotta love that coconut oil for the skin!!! It's all I use now, so maybe the sunscreen did play a part. Spoke to a friend the other day and she seems to think it was the fish with all the mercury. Since I ate it for lunch and dinner several days in a row!!! I guess my body has really changed and only "wants" raw vegan food in it!!

The vertigo has gotten a bit better. The spells last only for a bit and are not as frequent. I did begin the antibiodic, against my "raw thinking", but doc tested me for urinary tract infection. He said it was the slightest trace of infection as well as to treat anything in my ears. So maybe the infections are clearing.

I made Cohen's enchiladas. Yummy as usual. I really need to sprout some rye to make her bagels that I love!!

    Time to get busy!!

well, the vacation in London was awesome, we had wonderful weather, and the most tempting food. since i hadn't intended to eat a raw diet, prior to cleansing, and this is most likely a once-in-a-lifetime treat, i went ahead and ate the things that appealed to me. we did tons of walking; even so, i weighed 8lbs heavier when i got back -- figured most of it was sitting in my gut (ugh). and we just now got back from a weekend trip to Detriot to visit friends, and that blew the diet plan as well. seems like when i'm home, it's no big deal to stick to what i should eat, but when i am away, i get sucked in to the old way of eating.

oh, well. this is a learning experience. also, figuring out what my body wants and needs takes time, i haven't figured out what the answer is yet. i am feeling like i need to do another cleanse again, but i'm not sure when the right time will be, what with how i am feeling physically, and my schedule.

definitely getting back to raw and vegs. i read most of my raw food (cook)books on the drive this weekend, and it's very inspiring

hope to catch up with you all again!

Welcome back nina - you were on my dream vacation. It's UK or bust!

I'm going to be cleansing soon too but not sure when. I pulled out Burroughs book and I'm going to read it cover to cover.

I hope everyone is doing well. It's 82 degrees here and humid. My house attracts the heat and holds on to it so I'm wilting a bit. BUT, there's a nice bunch of cut up watermelon calling to me so I must obey.

    Love to all,

Today I made Matt's Ketchup. It's really good although I had to adjust the ingredients a bit.

How's everyone doing today? It's quiet around here.

Wow!! It is quiet around here!

Just ordered the *NEW* "cheese" crackers from Oneluckyduck. Let you all know how they are!!

I had some bread over at my mom's this evening. I feel like poop.

While there, I taught my dad why he "doesn't digest watermelon". Mom was eating it alone for dinner (good girl!!) and he said he doesn't digest it, so I asked didn't he always have it as a dessert of sorts? Yes, of course. Well, that is why daddy!! I told him he has to eat it first and wait, or else alone. He is going to "do a study" on that!!

Great, as I ate pickles and bread. BAD RAW GIRL!! Besides that, I had my green smoothie this am and a lovely tomato for lunch. Some raw flax crackers with some cashew cheese.

    rambling......

    hope everyone is doing well.

    Hi Everyone!

I've been slipping up pretty horribly lately. Although I've been eating lots of fruits and vegetables, I am lacking protein and had been supplementing with eggs and fish. Plus, I am eating far too many nuts and need to focus more on others sources of low fat raw protein.

I realize until I get this sorted out with whole raw foods, hemp protein powder and the hemp meal replacement (by Vega) is the way to go.

Also, I have moved up my start date for my next cleanse and it will start this Monday, August 20th. That gives me more than 10 days to cleanse and then some transition days before school starts. I am going to use my cleanse days sprouting and preparing things for the freezer so I have some healthy options waiting for me when I am ready for food again.

This time on my cleanse I will be strict about exercising (which I didn't do much of last time). It will help me retain some muscle if I weight train on the cleanse.

Looking forward to having some control again!!

    have a great weekend!

Hi charlottebird: Don't beat yourself up about not staying 100% raw. I'm learning that it is very difficult to go completely raw after being on the SAD diet for as long as I have been. I've tried the Vega shakes but I prefer the hemp shakes by Nutiva. I have a green smoothie for breakfast, usually a hemp shake for lunch w/ fruit, a Larabar for a mid-afternoon snack (love the gingersnap one), and a lot of veggies, sometimes chicken, occas a little cheese for dinner, w/ fruit (cherries, dates) for dessert.

While my food choices aren't always perfect, they are a lot better than they were pre-MC. For the most part, I am over bread, although I had a little earlier this week (bleagh!). Definitely over fast food and have been fine without coffee, most dairy, and sugar.

What I find I still crave are protein sources, which I have supplemented w/ free range chicken, a really fresh tuna fillet (seared and left almost raw), a little soy cheese, a little fresh grated Parmesan (yeah, I've had pasta a couple of times) and fresh mozzarella in a Caprese salad! I figure the world won't come to an end if I have some fresh mozzarella w/ heirloom tomatoes and basil, drizzled w/ olive oil and balsamic vinegar!
