Res!!! So glad to see you here!!! Have been wondering about you!!

Leaving tomorrow night for the airport. Going to Turks and Caicos with 7 yr old daughter and BF. CAN'T WAIT!! Hoping to stay raw. It is a huge resort, so I think I'll be a-okay! I may, like our Sim, have a tiny taste of something it if screams out to me. But just a taste. Don't want to upset my tummy!

I AM IN LOVE with tomato, avocado, cucumber, basil, and my new mayo sandwiches on Matt's onion bread!! I have been eating them all week and have the most beautiful ingredients left over for a final one before leaving!!!

I will really miss checking in with everyone while I'm gone!! I'll be dreaming of coming back spending the rest of summer making lunches for some of my friends that have been wanting to come "sample" my world!!

Red face Re: The One Month RAW Challenge

Thanks! I also was reading in Peter's book about when he went to raw food the first time and gave up sweet everything, including sweet fruit. I was wondering if there are any "rules" about that? Like hi-carb fruits like bananas, etc. I used to do the hi-protein thing and you couldn't eat a banana! And all it got me was sky-high cholesterol. So I need another path to follow. It struck me as I was in Maui last year and saw bananas growing wild and how beautiful they were, and I thought, " How could something that just grows out of the ground be bad for you?"

    Japonica,

Believe it or not, the really yellow ripe bananas are extremely high in sugar! I love them that way but am reduced to eating them more on the green side because there's less sugar. However, so what! It's not like I'm eating a Milky way bar, right?

I go back and forth with all this stuff and I'll tell you - if we listened to everyone and did what "everyone" said to do we'd be tied in knots and never eat anything.

I love Dr Mercola - he says raw dairy is excellent for your health. He also eats meat (I do too) but he eats the top quality grass fed beef. Well, how raw is that? But he's in GREAT shape and he's healthy.

Then there's our all raw efforts. Then Adkins, Slimfast, Jenny Craig - everyone has their own ideas. Staying closest to nature seems best to me. I say try it all and then weed out what doesn't work for you. We're all different and our bodies tell us what we need. I need to learn to listen more and trust my instincts.

Blah, blah, blah.... It's nice to be back.

    TeePee! Have a wonderful time!

    Love to you all!

Unhappy Re: The One Month RAW Challenge

    Hey,

the good news is that almost a month after the MC I am still holding at 161 lbs. ( I got on the scale this morning expecting 167 or something like THAT.)
My ceiling point is 162. I absolutley do not want to go above that. I started at 187.5 in the beginning of May, and gained only 3 lbs since the MC. THAT IS PROGRESS!

Our monthly co-op order waws dealyed one week, so that threw my raw menu way off. With work burning at both ends, I did not have flex to roll with my new raw regime. I am still doing 90%+ raw.

I am very, very down today. Thre are some things I have have been very fearful of tackling that are at my doorstep now. I personally chose to wean off depression and anxiety meds during the MC and it has goine well up to this point . . . oh I hate those chemicals, but I also hate being so messed up on the job. I am sure that no one is as hard on me as I am on myself.

I am calling friends here at home, but got no response until a couple miniutes ago. I will trust this is the person I am to pour out to.

So please keep me in your happy thoughts, you are part of my support team.

Aww Nance, can you identify exactly what it is that's depressing you? If so write it down. Then start at the top and see if there's anything you can do about it. If not, then set it aside in your mind and go to the next thing. I know - easier said than done.

-Go for a WALK. Get out into the air and sunshine for at least an hour - even if you don't feel like it.

-Drink a large glass of water

-If you like music put on something with a bit of rhythm - even if you don't feel like it. That will change once the music starts, but pick out upbeat music.

    Hang in there. *hug*

    Love,

    Hi Res,
I love Dr. Mercola also, I think you might have turned me onto him initially with one of your comments. Anyway I have bought all his books and love all the health info he gives, he just makes sense to me. I got his Optimal eating plan cd which is excellent and his EFT cd's. I love EFT except I haven't figure out yet quite how to apply it to myself. I go through the steps and it works for a while but not for good which it should. So I keep on plugging with that also, since I think that is a brilliant tool.

Res - Thanks for the reply! I am trying to make this fun! Today was my first day of RAW! I have experimented w/partial raw in the past ( a la Harvey Diamond) but he gets into all that food combining, etc. Gets a little too complicated! I am going to have a salad tonight while my husband and my stepson grill steaks! Should be quite a challenge!

    Take care!
