Oh, I want to eat...an avocado and a tomato!! I just walked in from putting an offer on a house for my BF and I to merge our 2 homes into one!!! Say a little raw foodie prayer for me because the kitchen is a dream come true!! The dehydrator could have a counter all to itself!!! FINGERS CROSSED!!! I'm just glad I made it through without any swf "issues" while I was there!!

Well, the house had a bathroom, didn't it?

Definitely crossing fingers for you! It sounds marvelous! And there will be plenty of room (and time) later for that wonderful avocado/tomato sandwich (on onion bread, of course!).

    Congratulations!

Are those recipes are here on the BB somewhere? Where do I find them?
How many crackers do you make in a batch? How long with they store and where do you store them?

Yes, they're probably on either the Lemonhead Recipe Box or the After the Cleanse thread. Search for "dragon" and you'll probably find them. Let me know if you don't.

That particular recipe makes a lot. Several sheets' worth, though I can't remember exactly. Sometimes I cut the recipes in half or thirds, but then they get eaten so quickly that it seems it almost wasn't worth it.

I always made them in my food processor (and sometimes in my blender) before, but I'll be doing it in the Vitamix from now on.

You can store them in plastic bags in the fridge (I refrigerate anything with processed or ground flaxseed in it). You can also freeze them. And if they sit out and get a bit pliable, you can always crisp them up again in the dehydrator.

Let us know how you do with them!

Where is everyone? I am just checking in....Still cleansing.....Day 15 almost over. Tired. Signed a contract on a house to buy with 2 to sell btwn b/f and myself. So much cleaning to do. It seems easier to stick to lemonade, than to break back in to raw food. Endured another barbecue on Saturday. It was hard. I know I was detoxing, because I wanted to eat a burger...and you all know, I don't do that!!!

Hope everyone is doing well. I wonder how Sim is doing in Ireland!!!

Wink Re: The One Month RAW Challenge

    Okay everyone!

I just went to the BRAND NEW SPROUTS here in Claremont, and I am sooo excited!

I bought every vegetable and fruit I could!

I think I spent $80 on just fresh live food alone! LOL

So, I have decided to go 100% RAW for the 30 day challenge. I made it through another day on water. I am going to start the oj tomorrow.

So I guess I will be joining you on WED!

So is it possible, since I only have a blender, and no moola right now, to just be sooooo basic?

I feel like I will need a little help with this, as I have never cooked and this seems like a huge challenge, this and a new job at the same time.

Thanks to everyone for your support!

    Feed me, feed me!

    Hooray for you, Saralise!

And welcome to this very fun thread! I'm sure you'll have lots to offer.

As to "cooking", obviously on raw you never need to! It's true, having all the fancy stuff helps the mental aspect and offers some textures not otherwise available, but the truth is, to eat raw all you really need is a knife.

The basics of raw food are veggies, fruits, and nuts and seeds. Just grab different handfuls of them when you're hungry (eating raw you don't need to worry about amounts), and stop eating when you're full. So really, you don't have to be a chef and your blender will take you a long way.

For now, enjoy your transition, and get ready for a fun next month!

    HiTeePee!

We'll get this board going again soon. Gotta admit, I've been running fairly ragged lately and haven't had much time for chatting. Hopefully that'll change soon!

I never had a chance to answer your story about starting your Vitamix without the lid, but it made me laugh out loud! And I can certainly understand how it happened--and can imagine the results.

I am adoring mine and using it for a lot of things. The other day I used it to make rosemary crackers and red dragon crackers, and I tripped the safety overload trying to process soaked flax and almonds. So I can tell I need to learn some new techniques. I was wondering whether processing the dry flax and water in the VM first, and then letting it stand to thicken, might work. Or maybe I just need to put in smaller amounts, and separate the almonds and the flax. The crackers turned out good, though!

I'm still experimenting with my lime and chili variations. So far it seems best on the dragon crackers, and it works to both put lime juice in the mix and also to brush lime juice on the crackers when I turn them in the dehydrator. I then sprinkle extra salt on while the lime juice is still wet. It seems to get it to stick even after it's dry (I also put extra salt in the dough--I must have a salty tooth!). I don't bother cutting the crackers into pretty shapes; I just let them dry and break them. Quick and dirty!

Anyway, how long is it going to be before you're back here working up recipes yourself? Have a good one!

WELCOME SARALISE!!! You will be great!! Don't worry about the equipment, it will all come in time. Especially since it is summer, you will maybe prefer "simple raw" anyway!! Good luck!

Hi mtmouse, I am glad you are enjoying the Vitamix. Mine has been getting a long break with this cleanse!! Today is Day 16. Tongue is just about totally pink. I have only dropped half pound in the last 6 or so days! I will probably go a few more days anyway. I am still eliminating "stuff", so I feel I should continue on. Plus, with trying to ready 2 houses to clean, get mortgage approvals, wait for passport to arrive, prepare for vaca, it just seems easier to make lemonades than to make other stuff!!!

BF just found out he is borderline diabetic. on top of all this. He has done cleanse for 20 days a couple of times. He loves his candy. He needs to lose at least 50 lbs. He was going to do MC with me this time, but of course hasn't started. I am worried about him. I am thinking he should start with cleanse then move to raw. That should help to correct the problem, no? From everything I have read it has. Anyone have any suggestions? Doc said if he doesn't change he'll have to start on 1 insulin pill a day.

Waiting for swf gotta get busy cleaning....and paperwork..

Hey TeePee, sorry to hear about your BF, sounds like RAW might just be the best thing for him actually! LOL

When you write SWF, are you referring to "Single White Female"? LOL

But anyway, I just ate some hearts of palm and some artichoke hearts out of the can, they were in the fridge and i was on the phone and i just popped them in my mouth without even thinking, and then of course i couldn't stop! So, i decided to chew them really well.

Earlier today, i had massive diarhhea after having the orange juice.

i had been craving those hearts of palm for days, and they just sat there looking at me every day, taunting me! now, i know they must not have been raw, but something tells me they might have been, because they wer e crunchy! So i don't really know, they were organic tho.

So, i need a blended soup for later so i don't slip again! HELP*#&$

You would be proud of me, tho. My fridge is packed with all raw veggies and fruits, nothing i can cheat on in there anymore

also, does anyone know if soy milk, is allowed, like unpasteurized?
