Yes - I agree. If you stay on the same eating path you're going to hurt yourself more "mentally" and you need to be intact for what you're going through.

Things may seem really bad right now but it can change for the good in an instant.

I do the same thing with food - and if there would've been a chocolate cheesecake in front of me today I would've gone head first into it.

*Since you DO turn to food - eat all the fresh fruit first, peaches, plums, watermelon, cantalope - that sort of stuff. Fake yourself out by telling yourself you can eat the junk/wrong food AFTER you have the fruit and a salad. Sounds really dumb but it actually works. By the time you're done eating the good stuff you're full and the craving is sated.

    *we're with you!

    Love,

    Aw, Ginger....
Awful, terrible, horrible....but YOU are awesome, terrific, and a hot-potato, sweetheart!!!

Don't let life get you down! Oooh, we all know so well that feeling of "I'm miserable and therefore I'm going to eat every comfort food in the world to take away my hurts." And the comfort food does nothing but cause DIScomfort and we wind up feeling worse because we've actually done ourselves physical harm with our eating. Ginger, we love you! Don't beat yourself up...Res and Kathy are so right about getting back onto the right path, even if you've indulged too much for the moment. Not only will you feel better physically, but you'll feel great to be back in control of yourself...that alone is worth the effort because it's half the battle. Control, Ginger. You can't control all the personal crises or the boyfriend stuff, but your own eating and your own health? They're yours, you own them. Go for it, girl. We're right here with you. Tons of hugs to you.

    Thanks, mookie,

That's exactly what I ended up doing. The cubes are in the freezer as I speak!

I don't know about eating them frozen (I just got around to doing this yesterday, so of course I can't taste any of it), but at the very least I can put them in a GREEN SMOOTHIE!

Take that, Res, and spackle your house with it!

Perhaps we should just pick a day next year for our group 52nd BD party. Here's an idea, J Cornbleet visits southern California a few times each year and is willing to offer a full-day cooking class (in addition to the longer class she teaches in northern California) if there are enough folks interested. So ... since she is so cute and fun, it would make a great outing for a group BD. I'll plan for my husband to be out on a business trip and you could all stay with me. Traffic is horrible here, but the weather is generally pretty good and we could take a field trip to Matt Amsden's restaurant. There are worse places than southern Cal. Just dreaming out loud.
Hey, sunny southern CA sounds, great, but I am probably going to spend my plane ticket on aCuisinart 11 cup food processor, and eventulaly the Omega 8005. yes, let's hear it for the 50 somethings!!!! I turned 51 in February.

I used to live in AZ, now in MO. We made pilgrimages to the beach, which I sorely miss, AHHHH all that salt water!! But thank you for the invite!! My heart is warmed!

OK if I can only get one or two applicances at a time . . . it looks like the Cuisinart Food Processor and the veggie 'pasta cutter' thingie should be first. . . .I have a cheapie, but adequate juicer now, an old blender, and my roomie is selling me her Excaliber 9 tray dehydrator for $120. (She has a Green Star juicer!) Somebody wrote that Bed, Bath & Beyond with a 20% coupon got her a Cuisinat FP at about $160. .. I have a coupon!

OK, thanks everyone on this site, you guys are WONDERFUL! OXOXOO
    The support is incredible!

    Question Please-
I'm currently on my 2nd MC, and trying to plan my eating after the cleanse-which I did not do the first time around. I want to go RAW for 30 days when I'm finished. I do not have unlimited funds....so I have a few questions.....

If I bought only one book-which should it be?
If I bought only one kitchen gadget-which should it be?

Any and all input would be appreciated....looking at the kitchen gadgets online scare me a little.....there are so many and they are so highly priced (i'm sure they are worth it). I just need to know what I need to get started....I can add to both the book and kitchen collection at a later day, just a little scared about starting!

Oh-I should add, I have no books on RAW eating, but many vegetarian cook books, The China Study and I've ordered Food Revolution. I have a blender and food processor too!

    Thanks!

    Michelle

My opinion: if you've got a blender and food processor, I would suggest a dehydrator next. I don't think you necessarily have to buy a super-fancy one to start (some on here might disagree, LOL). Get one you can afford (make sure it can dry at a low heat) and find out if you're going to stick with it. Later on you can upgrade.

And again my opinion: Alissa Cohen's Living on Live Food. Second choice: Cornbleet's Raw Food Made Easy.

    Have fun!

These are great suggestions, Michelle...Kathy's got it right BUT I kind of disagree about the dehydrator...I think it's worth it 1000% to get the Excalibur 9 tray with the timer. Just my 2 cents
