Ok I'm up and going today. Tired still. Had an incredibly long day yesterday. Walking miles (with a laptop the weight of a small child) and getting lost etc. I wanted to have something cooked as a treat and as a way of sabotaging myself, as I tend to do when I'm upset, but I didn't. Instead, I found two different raw granolas, one I like better than the other.
the one i really like http://bakingforhealth.com/living-granola.html
    the one that's ok http://www.goraw.com/products/produc...2&cat=4&page=1

i did kinda sabotage myself by eating something so heavy after 9 pm but thankfully my stomach didn't act out.

Anyway, yes mtmouse of course I'm doing raw. I signed up for 2 wks after my cleanse and I am a woman of my word.

    Have a great day everyone.
I gotta leave for the endless subway ride in a bit.

Good morning. everyone. Raw challenge is going well. Hee Hee...all one day of it. I'm jealous of you four weekers.

My fingers are a mess. All dried up. Four have peeled terribly and are raw (just like me LOL ) It hurts to touch anything. I've also got a dry raw spot on my mouth (not a cold sore). So weird. Sim - I'm using less sitrus than I did not the MC. I don't know what's causing this. Oh well. I'm just using alot of moisterizer. I doesn't so much though.

I haven't had time this week to do much fod prep. So, I'm eating mostly veggies and salads. Gotta fire up what's left of my dehydrator this weekend and get some goodies prepared. I just read a review on Matt's book and think I may buy it. But, I've also gotta get a dehydrator. I just found "Zing Farm" which is one town over from me. I may order it from them (so I get it faster).

    HAve a great day ya'll.

    Hi pseudovegan,

Welcome, and kudos to you for thinking of trying new approaches to your eating after your cleanse!

There are several things you can try for that condition.

First, you could simply avoid them. There's nothing in eating raw that says you have to have those foods.

Second, you could also try dicing the foods and soaking them in ice water for 15 minutes. Someone on the recipe page suggested that for a recipe, saying it takes the "sting" out. It might also stop your other reactions.

Third, you could [warning: blatant plug ahead, LOL!] try EFT for your sensitivity. (See my website.) You may be able to eliminate it entirely.

And of course, you could always continue to cook them if you so chose!

Kathy, you'll get your Vitamix. lol

Peanut: Sounds like perseverance won. Way to go! How's the new job?

eurekam: Not sure if it's true or not. It would be 100% true if it had to do with raw juices. I'm leaning more towards "eating habits" just based on my own eating. It's lovely though eating raw.

psuedo: The cool thing about eating raw is you adjust it to what YOU like. It's not like drinking only lemonade on the cleanse. You have "other" choices eating raw and you're not tied down to a menu.

We do a lot of ingredient revisions to the recipes, based on what we have on hand or do or don't like. That makes it really nice.

Right now Boutenko's Scones are at the top of my list. I made a full batch yesterday and tweaked it a bit. The house smelled like wonderful cinnamon rolls baking in the oven.

Then Cornbleet's "Not Tuna" is my favorite over the Toona. I've tried both and prefer this one so it's just a matter of taste. We try what each other suggests too and that's fun.

This thread has only touched the tip of the iceburg. And as usual it's a great group of people.

High Fives to everyone. Whether you're all raw or partly is fine. This is a safe place to come and share where you are, what you're doing and what you're eating!!

    Love,

I checked my calendar and if I included the Saturday that I got food poisoning today would be Day 25, but I won't so that makes it Day 24 of being completely RAW. And that means it's Day 26 for you, right Kathy?

I've been meaning to ask you guys for ideas on what to do with banana and almond butter bc i've been wanting a sandwich - then i saw this online
    Ingredients:

    • 2 lettuce leaves
    • 1 banana
    • 2 generous tsp. almond or pumpkinseed butter (or desired amount)
    Instructions:

Spread nut/seed butter onto each of the lettuce leaves. Cut the banana in half and place it in the center of the buttered leaf. Swaddle the banana in the leafy "blanket" and serve.
Variation: Sprinkle in some soaked sunflower seeds

and i guess now i can buy some of the raw crackers etc from whole foods i saw last night and try it with that.
The site had other good recipes too - http://www.vegetarianbaby.com/recipes.shtml

I'd still like other ideas though. I wanted recipes ideas for something else too, but I forget...

Oh! I got a mango last night. tried it today with my lunch, lettuce wraps with guac, sprout and mango. the mango was far from delicious. i was reminded yet again why i should only stick to mangoes i know. No foreign mangos for me.

works been keeping me busy. i like it alot. Thanks for asking.

Way to "cowboy up" and stick with the raw, peanut!!!

If you make plain crackers ( I think I modified some recipe and the basics were ground flax-not soaked- and ground up almonds. Add some water and salt I think) they are great to put almond butter and bananas. Or almond butter and maple syrup tastes like a pancake!! Or almond butter, banana AND maple syrup. But I don't like all three together as well! OOOH, I know strawberry, banana and MS would rule on this cracker!! Okay, I am getting delirious from the crazy stress from work this week!!

great going girls!!! Now you are almost to 30 days!! Look how fast that went!!! AND FUN!! Now you know you can do it!!!
