    aw, what a great welcome!
thanks. You know I had to ban myself from this thread while I was fasting because I was truly beginning to hate all of you.

Today's been going great. Not having any fruits or nuts (trying to make sure I clear up candida/yeast/whatever's going on "down there")

had a whole bunch of carrots to make up for the lack of crunch aka nuts.

breakfast - Carrot sticks. and PH balance juice from the juice place - celery, cucumber, lemon, spinach and parsley (www.ardensgarden.com)
lunch - Carrots sticks, sugar snap peas, celery sticks dipped in very garlicy guacamole
dinner - salad with sugar snap peas, cherry tomatoes sprouted peas and avocado dressing (watered down guacamole)

I really thought it was going to be harder eating veggies only but it's not been bad at all.

looking for a recipe for cauliflower tabouli right now. had some at a raw restaurant on the weekend and would like to make it.

the one thing i don't like about eating is how full/bloated my belly has been feeling. it's a strange and ugly feeling.

That bloat may even just be the body adjusting to the changes: I get that way if I drastically change my eating habits, and then a few days later, it is gone. Hope your tunny feels better soon!

thanks. i really hope so. because i'm really worried i'm doing something wrong or hurting myself, but i know i'm not. i'm not eating alot and i'm eating raw. i stopped eating nuts, and still, i feel full even when i'm not. my belly feels like it just doesn't want to digest stuff. lol like it wants to go back on vacation. anyway, maybe it's just a case of the mondays

I met a lady one day at the Wild Oats juice bar who has studied in no less than three different Raw "institutes" and we got to talking. She said that carrots and carrot juice are the WORST things to have if you have ANY candida/yeast suspicions...something about the high-sugar content feeds into the candida. No carrots, no beets for you until you're all better!!!!!!! And you'd better listen to this mama because you're too valuable to be bothered by yeast!!!!

    My Friends~
I know this is not the place to ask, but since all of you are the best sources of knowledge (and have some pretty clever wiseguy answers which always make me laugh, even as I read), I'm asking here.

I'm starting my second 40 day cleanse this month so I'm ready to go to Ireland with a healthy mindset. Here's the question and yes, I've already been to the Newbie thread to read about this and yes, I did read Peter's post on it but I wanted YOUR opinions...I have rosacea and it's been under complete control for a year. Great! But about a month ago, my face started to itch and burn and then I started to look like a monster, so I did the only thing that's "cured" it in the past: almost against my will, I started taking Zithromax, the wonderful antibiotic. I have to take it every day for a solid 30 days! Horrible for my body, great for my skin. I was hoping that between the cleanse and Raw, I wouldn't have to go through this anymore but no such luck. When your skin hurts to much that you can't sleep, it's time to do something about it. I've been on the antibiotic for twelve days and sure enough, it's helping (but I feel like I'm being traitorous to my body. Sigh.) So the question: does anyone know if the MC while taking this particular medication will hurt me or rather, will this particular medication will hurt me while I do the MC? Do I have to wait until I finish the meds? I could do that, but it means I will be breaking my fast for only a day before I leave for Ireland and I'm worried about the adjustment back to eating too soon (after a 40 day cleanse, I need at least a week, if not 10 days to transition...and I don't even know how much Raw I'll find on the Dingle Peninsula. We're backpacking all the way.) I know Peter said, "talk to your health care practitioner" about fasting while taking meds, but I happen to know that my "practitioner" doesn't recommend the MC at all and we all know that the MC has major benefits, so I can't listen to him. (He's my doc of the past; I'm searching for a good holistic MD now). Any thoughts or knowledge of this my friends? Please let me know when you get a chance. Thanks all

crap that sucks cus i sure at an entire bag of baby carrots yesterday.
thankfully i'm feeling better today. no itchiness.
but i will keep that in mind for the next time. wish you'd told me that 24 hrs earlier
that reminds me - i have a delicious carrot beet salad in the fridge i made yesterday to enjoy today.

i plan to still take it easy with the sugars and probably do one day a week of veg only. but maybe veg and nuts.
