    I am drinking a ton of water and peppermint tea because those are the only things that don't hurt. I have cut back on the cayenne but I almost don't taste it now. I'm going to keep going, I just don't want to hurt myself by not getting enough nutrients for the next 7 days because I can't drink the lemonade.

    Ok - next... are you doing the LAX tea at night and swf/or LAX tea in the morning?

    I was doing the lax tea morning and night (no swf because I just can't take it!), but I stopped day before yesterday because I was cramping and nothing was coming out. Haven't had a "real" movement for 2 days. I guess I could try that again tonight and see if that helps.
    BTW, thanks so much for holding my hand through this. I really don't want to quit. I only have this time period each year to really do a long fast (14 days) because I'm a chef and do catering. I have to taste at work and cannot fast unless I have time off.

    Hi everyone,
    Today is my first full day! (I took the tea last night.) I'm gradually adding in the pepper a little more each time I drink the lemonade, because I can't stand spice, but I know that it plays a pretty large role in the cleanse. I had a horrible time trying to get through the SWF this morning, its just SOO gross and I thought I was going to hurl!! Are there any tricks to getting though drinking the whole thing?

    I am on going to bed on my second full day. I feel pretty good a little hungry during the day but I just drank water and it went away. I had 7 10oz glasses of lemonade and a cup of mint tea. I did the SWF but nothing amazing yet as I have been on SAD my entire life. My tounge has started to turn white and I have been irritable so I know it has started to work. This is my first cleanse. I am shooting for 20 plus days I started 12/28/2007. So wish me luck and I will be back.

    Ken, yup, you're right on target. lol Hang in there. It gets worse, then better then better, better, worse, better!



    vqlite: Yikes, a chef! So you're in the time between times. Don't quit - the cleanse is odd. What you think is abnormal is quite normal. It could be that the junk in your intestines is being dealt with. Detox is pretty nasty. Loosening up the junk on the colon walls isn't a picnic either. What you're going through is normal though. At least don't quit on a day you feel like crap and go to Day 10. If you opt out after that then good for you for making it ten days. If you find yourself doing well, go for the 14. The more the merrier. Hang in there. You're doing great.

    and Kathryn, make sure you're using Celtic Grey sea salt, or pink himalayan. Table salt sucks the life out of you and isn't recommended.

    Now, since the swf is truly all in the mind - imagine yourself drinking warm, tepid chicken soup without the chicken. You *REALLY* can do it. I used to hate it - Now I embrace it. You can too.

    Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. Great to know I can have the lemonade warm when I can't seem to warm up myself. I'll give the mint tea a try too. Had a big family Christmas party today and the food wasn't even tempting - I feel wonderful and being 7lbs lighter is extra motivation to stay on course. Day #4 is about over and looking forward to 5!

    Day #1
    I was going to wait to do this again but two things happened: first, I watched "Supersize Me" last night and was so horrified I just wanted that stuff out out out of me....second, I rethought my reasons for why I want to do this. At first, I thought it was only about cleansing out in preparation for transitioning to a raw diet....and fasting is never a bad idea spiritually. But ever since my neighbor showed up with McD's the other day, on day 2 of my first try....I....well, it sounds stupid, but I have an addiction, and I don't like that. I have never been one that likes being controlled by anything, let alone something as heinous as the golden arches. People generally accept drug addiction as bad, alcohol or nocotine addicts have programs they can go to....why is junk food addiction OK just because it's status quo??? I mean, look at us as a country! Anyway, sorry for my rant...so I did my swf today knowing what to expect, and had nothing except noises in my tummy. Took a lemonade about half an hour later thinking that might get things going and nada thus far.....gosh I hope this won't hit me later but it most likely will with my luck. Everything was going well, then I ate Friday afternoon and yesterday....is it OK to start over now? Have I kind of ruined it??? Will I clean out like before or will it take longer? Should I take the senna tea earlier than tonight? If a train left Chicago......just kidding....
