I realize that the bodyfat percentage can be "off" due to amount of water my body was retaining on day 1 versus what it is retaining today, but those figures are a bit alarming to me.

    I am really now wondering if I should begin coming off of this today so I don't loose more muscle or stick it out for the 10 days. Please give your ideas/wisdom on this.

    I've got one of those scales too and it showed similar wide ranges of body fat/muscle % change in my first MC. I wouldn't worry too much about the fluctuations since there is so much going on in your body right now and the scales are not the most accurate to begin with. If it helps any, on my first MC it showed me losing roughly 15 lbs of muscle, but within 10 days after the MC I was back to where I was prior (I had gained back about 10 lbs--but there was no way it was muscle--it was body waste returning). So if I followed what the scale said, it would mean I had lost 20 total pounds during the MC with 15 of that being muscle. Then, 10 days later I had gained back 10 lbs but really gained 15 of muscle while losing 5 of fat. I don't think so, especially since I continued to exercise including lifting weights throughout the MC. I think I lost 20 lbs (10 was fat, and 10 was waste that later returns with eating).

    Uh yea, so.. i just got done with my SWF, but my back pain is bad enough I can only sit down for a few minutes.. so...

    Hi Everyone!!! This was my first cleanse and I was nervous about doing it for 10 days. The first 3 days I wanted to hold up a Starbucks and eat my own hand, but I actually found that I began to feel amazing by day 5. I am now on day 18 and am going to go for 21. It blows me away that I have been able to do it and even more so that I feel incredible. I even cancelled my chiropractic appt. because I felt so great. I lost 20 pounds which is a bonus!!
    I missed having support and wish I would have found this sooner.

    Hi- I tried the fast a few months ago and only lasted 3 days. I wasn't starving, but I was really cold and bored. Now with more information I'm ready to start again tomorrow. Is there anyone who is starting on 4/5? I also developed a mild case of asthma in the past year - my doctor told me it was environmental. I hope that the mc will help with this - does anyone have any stories about the mc and asthma? Any advice would help

    Last night I had a dream that I was at this drive through mall with my old college roommate and her mother (who is now deceased). We went into "Sweet Factory" which is a candy store chain over here. But they had more types of food in the dream. I ordered a hot grilled panini sandwich with green chilis, but instead they made me a giant sub sandwich. I ordered a chocolate cherry brownie with white chocolate chips. They gave me that plus a "sample" macadamia nut log. I ordered an ice cream and they just kept giving me samples and samples and samples. I didn't want to eat them because I was just coming off the cleanse, so I had them put all the samples in a bag. All I wanted was a sandwich and a brownie and juice. Well, they decided that since I was a "big order" customer that they would help all the other quick customers first. I couldn't get my juice and leave. I couldn't check out because the bag was filled with all those "samples" that I didn't want to have to pay for. Then my friend and her mom were mad because I was taking so long and getting so much junk!
    So - there's my coming-off-the-cleanse "nightmare in a candy store."

    Hello all,

    I have posted twice so far, and have not seen either of my posts, but I will try again, maybe I did it wrong. I just received a letter in the mail that Zelnorm has been taken off the market. I have been on Zelnorm for about 3 years, and cannot tell you how wonderful that medication has been for me and my irritable bowel syndrome. I am really upset about this, and from what I understand, there is no other medication to replace it. While the Zelnorm lessened my symptoms tremendously, i.e., bloating, constipation, gas, etc., I must say that the whole time during my MC fast (10 days), I was not bothered with ANY of those symptoms, nor did I have any acid reflux problems for which I take Prilosec everyday. I was instructed in my letter to call my doctor and talk with her about it which I will definitely do. I don't know what I will do if all the IBS comes back!!! I am thinking I will go back on the cleanse, hopefully for a longer period of time, and then try to do a raw diet.

    Has anyone else out there been on Zelnorm and now have to get off of it, and if so what are you going to do???

    Day 5 here and boy am I surly!! I've already apologized ahead of time to my co-workers for my attitude, they've all been very forgiving so far.. My work just dumped off a plastic easter egg full of jelly beans, which I can see myself eating but I know would make me sick, so I wont. On the upside the egg had a little slip of paper indicating that I'd won a prize, so I guess there is an upside.
    Continuing with the not so happy day, I left all my lemonade supplies at home, so I guess I'll be going home for lunch! I was planning on heading over to Whole Foods, since they have some Meyer lemons there, and the board had a lot of positve things to say about these lemons back in January. At $1.99 per organic lemon, I'm only getting 1 or 2 (ouch!) but I need the treat right now!

    Hello! Thank you all for all the support. I finished my first MC (10 days) last sunday. Have to say that Monday was probably the hardest since I only drank OJ, fell dizzy and weak, then tuesday started with little salads and fruits with few lemonades, and have been eating like that since. I can't finish a plate of salad. I feel great, light physically and mentally (lost 5 lbs). Will definetelly do it again in the summer, for a little longer. Good luck to all of you, don't give up. It is such a great gift to yourself.

    Hello all,
    I am very new to this topic but have been reading and researching it for the last week or so. I am planning on begining the MC on monday but have 1 major concern. I am of an athletic build (6'0" ~215 lbs) and have played sports all my life (I'm 26) and continue to play semi-professional football. My concern is that, although I am fine with dropping weight, I wonder if I would be losing muscle or fat. I know your body will resort to breaking up muscle in order to provide sugar for the brain to function properly. I am wondering if anyone has any information/insite into how much muscle mass you lose vs. how much fat is burned throughout the 10 day period. Thank you in advance.

    PS. I think its awesome how everyone is so supportive in helping each other through this process on the board. I look forward to participating over the next few weeks.
