Thread: What day are you on and How are you doing: General Check in

Rounding out my first day of the MC. I'm doing well, I guess. Took the Smoothe Moves last night and slept uneventfully. The SWF worked this morning within an hour for about an hour. I took some advice I read here and pretended it was *soup* and it wasn't half bad. Got the whole 32oz down in less than a minute. No more BMs since, although I'm feeling a slight *urge* now. Drank 6 glasses with no real hunger.

I do have a slight headache right now. I'm thinking its related to sinus pressure. After the pollen explosion, I woke up Friday with signs of a sinus infection. But, oh well, maybe the cleanse will help with that! Even if it's the MC, that just means its starting to work.

    Hi skinnyminnie,

Where did you read that? each glass of lemonade s/b: 1 oz. lemon juice, 1 oz. maple syrup, & 8 oz. water = 10 oz.
The minimum amount is 6 of those 10 oz. glasses of lemonade = min. 60 oz. lemonade/day. In addition, it is a good idea to drink lots of spring water. The formula for the amount of water is 1/2 oz. per lb. of body weight.

I don't remember seeing any time line for taking the smooth move. But I like to wait about 2 hours to make sure I've digested everything before giving it senna to start moving my bowels. I sometimes have to go right away after drinking the senna tea.

I quit caffeine as of the new year (I had horrible withdrawals for 2 weeks, but I knew I had to do it! and I did!)

I quit my perscription sleeping pills I had been taking for 8 years about a month ago...I had tried so many times before, but I said to myself, "I hate these pills, I hate that I feel like I have to take them, I do not want to put anymore chemicals in my body, I am never going to take them ever again and I am never going to need them ever again!"

And I went to bed, and prayed...Thank you God/Universe for this beautiful peaceful, best sleep on of my life tonight, and for allowing me to wake up feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and enthusiastic for the next day."

    And I DID!

I'm 22, I'll be 23 in July, and I've been a vegetarian since I was 11, and vegan since I was 16. I eat usually half of my diet raw, but I am very interested in incorporating even more raw food into my diet.

I do drink alcohol, but very seldomly and never in excess, and I don't smoke or do drugs...yay me! haha

I have a few medical conditions that I am hoping to get rid of as a result of my first journey through this master cleanse..

    1. HPV

    2. Dysmenorrhea (cramps or painful menstruation, involves menstrual periods that are accompanied by either sharp, intermittent pain or dull, aching pain, usually in the pelvis or lower abdomen.

--this is what my periods are like every month, and usually I am in the hospital about 3-4 times a year because of it)
Dull or throbbing pain in your lower abdomen
Pain that radiates to your lower back and thighs
    Nausea and vomiting
    Loose stools
    Sweating
    Dizziness
usually all at the same time..and sometimes passing out

and I have to take heavy pain medicine for all of this, so I realllly would like to help get rid of this.

I have started receiving pranic and reiki healing recently for this as well.

    3. Lower back pain, and just back pain in general with no known cause.
(just started doing yoga...it's sometimes help, I'm keeping at it)

    4. Exercise Induced Asthma (so the yoga doesn't affect this)
It's not severe, but definately bothersome because I will be out of breath and feeling tightness in my chest even if I'm having sex....it would be nice to not have to reach for my inhaler before having sex! haha

    5. Acne...now even though I eat a very pure clean diet...I know there must be something I am doing that is causing this..I'm not stressed..and I didn't start getting acne until well after puberty either, it started when I was 18 in college, but I was stressed at that time, but I am not now, but it's been persistent for the last couple years or so.

So that's Me in a little nutshell! I just read all the "Newbie" information which was extremely helpful, and a ton of these threads for the last 3 hours! I am so ready for this, and I am very excited! I was going to fast for 10 days (technically 13) but I think I am going to do it until my tongue is pretty 'n pink!

Thank you so much for this group...I know it is going to prove essential and so helpful in this cleansing of my body and mind

    Love,
    Ava

    Hi,

I just completed day 1 , yippee! Other than being a little grumpy from not eating anything it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Does the SWF get any easier days into the cleanse?

hey klc. you're welcome. we're all here to support each other.

nfan49 if you're feeling hungry increase your lemonades. for your meeting, have water with lemon and check out the excuses listed in the general help for newbies thread.

    skinnyminnie
    - oh no! Missing that 10 oz of water would totally ruin everything!! j/k (can people read sarcasm?) you'll be fine my love. I promise. You're doing awesome drinking 60 oz of water and 6 lemonades. Keep up the good work.
Have the lax tea before bed. when you do is really up to you. I like to have it as late as I can bc sometimes I wake up with cramps at 4 in the morning.

hey AvaViolette - I've also been veg since 11 and vegan since 04. I'm not the best vegan tho. not when there's cake lol.
anyway, congrats on taking all those steps towards a new you and good health. I'm very proud of you.

As for your health issues - the cleanse is awesome and amazing and fasting is the best healing for your body.

That being said sometimes it takes long cleanses or multiple cleanses to get stuff taken care of so don't be discouraged if you don't see results quick enough.

Also please note that stuff may flare up during the cleanse (check out the detox stages sticky) and it might get worse before it gets better.

Make sure you start your cleanse at the end of your period so you won't have to worry about the cramps etc while on the cleanse. I personally hate having my period when I'm cleansing.

I'm really glad that you've been taking the time to read and research so you know exactly what you're getting into and can be prepared. This cleanse is as much mental as it is physical.

Welcome back Shine! and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
    I've never done a 10 day cleanse. I've done 13, 20 and 15.
I prefer longer cleansing because that means deeper cleaning and after day 12-4, you're on autopilot.
You get into this routine and you just kinda coast thru it. I love it.
Some tips are to make goals for the latter days, like day 12, day 16 etc for little rewards.
Also take it 5 days at a time. When you break it up into small pieces it doesn't seem that long.
And make sure to give yourself 1 day of breaking the fast for every 4 days of fasting.

hi fijigirl - no flavoured water. nothing with ingredients other than those allowed on the cleanse. also only spring wayer. no carbonated or sparkling. the only thing you can have for the next ten days are spring water, sea salt, cayenne pepper, fresh lemon/ lime juice, maple syrup, laxative tea and peppermint tea. The good news is, everything else will still be there at the end of your cleanse.

futrdoc - the swf grows on you. I love it to tell the truth. I miss it when my cleanse is over. It's so thorough and efficient!
About heating your water - that's fine. that's what Res was saying in the old thread, that Burroughs says warm water in the book and she boils her water.
I sometimes do warm and sometimes do cold. I like to switch things up to keep it interesting.
Be careful with extra hot or extra cold water though because you are killing the enzymes and all that healthy goodness you need.

Hi Joppie - just fyi you don't have to chug the swf for it to work. I also like the switch that up from day to day. I prefer it room temp but sometimes I have it warm or cold. Sometimes I chug, sometimes just drink regularly.

The pollen here in Atlanta is at a gross level and spring just started. I'm glad to be cleansing now too and thank God for my sinucleanse to help flush out my nasal passages so I don't get all foggy and sick.
the cleanse will probably help with the allergies etc. fasting is the best cure. read what I said to AvaViolette.

hi bizybee! everything gets easier as the days go by. the body loves routine. so just stick in there. you can do it! the first few days are the roughest but the ultimate outcome is totally worth it.

as for me I went to dinner with the bf and my fam today and now I'm getting ready to drink my lax tea.
I got all my ingredients at the farmer's market and decided to try some raw agave nectar as well as the usual MS this time. I'll let you know how that goes.
I need to go get some litre bottles of water to make lemonades and swfs in and some baby wipes.
It's it great to spend $40 on 2 weeks worth of "food"? I'm pretty happy about how much money I'll be saving over the next 2 - 4 weeks.
I've been trying to cleanse since February so I'm glad that I finally made the time and am committed to this. I need to be clean from all the eating and drinking during the holidays and from the face shovelling I did while mourning my Papa. My acid reflux was acting up again and pollen season's started and my body is telling me it needs a change. So now's the right time.
Plus I'm def in need of a spiritual awakening and renewal. My plan is to fast until I get a job and have to move to NY - hopefully within the next 2 - 4 weeks.

    Bottoms up!

Default MC to flush kidney stones?

Hello All!!! I love this site and good to see Peanuttterb is still active! You were very helpful to me on my first cleanse.

I want to know if there is anyone out there who can advise on the MC and kidney stones.

I've been eating mostly raw following my first successful MC back in October so I naturally am in awe to be struck with kidney stones although it seems as though an increase in oxalate and lack of B12 can be responsible, both of which are risks in the raw diet.

I need to flush these stones and a friend of mine gave me info about several flushes people have done, including the MC! So, naturally I am going with it because it is familiar and I trust it AND I was planning to start one April 1st anyway.

One question I have is what do people think about taking cranberry pills and/or acidophylis while on the MC?

I KNOW, I KNOW we are not supposed to supplement but these things will help me keep a health urinary tract while holding the stones. Should the MC be enough to sustain a healthy urinary tract?

Mainly I want to know if anyone has actually passed stones while doing the MC.

Also, I would have started my own thread on this but for some reason i am blocked from doing so. Is it because I am a newbie???

    Thanks!
    Lisa

    HAYOH!!!

Day 1 (again!!) , and I'm here to get psyched! I hear you nutter- I've been wanting and trying to start this particular cleanse for about a month. I was having fierce symtpoms and combined with travel and distractions, I kept falling off the wagon. I feel a deep need to be here now and gitterdun! In the past, this board is what made the difference, so I'm here, needing all the support I can get. HELP! Days 1-4 have always been the most challenging. it's the letting go and making peace with the plan. So, I'm chanting in my head 'lem-mun, lem-mun,lem-mun, stan-ley,stan-ley stan-ley.....' !!!!!

Good luck to everyone today - how are you doing? Anyone else starting today? There's strength in numbers, so join in and let us know......

hey Supercleanser! so glad to have you back cleansing with me again.

I've already incurred one injury - hit my knee sprinting to the bathroom. Gotta love the swf. Honestly, it might be my fav thing about the cleanse. To not have babywipes is a sin. gotta get to the store asap.

    Good morning Lemonheads!
    Have a great day!!

Usually I do tips for the day, but this cleanse, I'd like to do challenges, sometimes good we all can strive for today:

    Today's challege:
Being positive. Smiling in the face of everything. Turning every negative situation and feeling around into something positive.

Give at least 4 compliments today.
Remind yourself of at least 2 good things you've done in the past month.
Go on, pat yourself on the back.
When you tell someone to have a great day, mean it.

    hi Lisa and welcome back

yes newbies can't create new threads. this cuts down on spam and repeat threads. sorry for any inconvenience the may have caused but see- you're still getting a prompt reply
I'm actually going to move your post to a more appropriate thread - the general check in/ question asking thread so others can read, help and learn.

do a search on the board for "kidney stones" "kidney" and see what comes up.

I've read that the master cleanse is good for dissolving kidney stores and since you've done it before i think it's a good deal for you to come on board again.
In his book Burroughs says the cleanse can be used to cleanse the kidneys.

you know the cran pills and acidiphillus aren't allowed on the cleanse. but once you break the cleanse you can have as much as you'd like

i think i've read about a kidney/ gallbladder flush here
    http://www.cleansingorsurgery.com/faq.htm#Gallbladder
it seems more gallbladder focused but perhaps it'll help

    and kidney cleanse here
    http://curezone.com/cleanse/kidney/default.asp
I am wary of alot of the things i've read at curezone but I'm also all about open access to information and people doing all the research necessary to make an educated decision.

    and here
    http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/kidney_stones.html

also check out google, i found a lot of responses on there for "kidney cleanse" and "kidney flush"
    some free, some not.
