    Hello, I love the site, have thoroughly enjoyed reading 100's of posts over probably 15+ hours in the past couple weeks. I'm a first time poster, first time Cleanser. Thought I'd post my progress and findings for you all, if for no other reason than for a bit of amusement. All in the scheme to ask one question.

    I've had a few challenges getting going. Many of my them stem from the fact that I live in Tokyo, where single limes cost can cost 220 yen (just under $2 each). I got a good deal on lemons yesterday, found a place where I got 5 for 390 yen. Before that I was spening 150 yen each. Oh, and 250ml of Maple syrup (just over a days worth) costs about $10. And thats the cheap stuff. I also went the first night without the tea, as even the health food stores dont have it. Found out later that most drug stores DO have it! At least I think I'm drinking senna tea. Uh, yes, it must be, based on what I did in the middle of the 2nd and 3rd night!

    Anyhow, I'm just finishing day 4.

    I'm actually a bit uneasy about the weight loss. Sure I can lose a few pounds but I fear it will be muscle and just the 'easy' fat to lose. Anyhow, I've not had any real detox symptoms. My tongue is white, fair enough, but I really was looking forward to seeing lots of stuff come out of my guts. Sounds gross, but I was hoping to really cleanse out the colon, perhaps see a few coins or something come out, who knows what I've ingested. Surely I have some bad stuff that needs to come out.

    I used to smoke pretty heavily, and have always drank. I got both under good control over the past couple years (binge drinking once per week and only smoking on that night, and maybe a couple glasses of wine once per week with the family). I am well aware that binge drinking is bad bad bad. To make it worse, ever since March (a friends wedding) I've been drinking and smoking quite a lot, and for me that leads to eating more which leads to drinking, smoking, etc, etc. Its the whole circle of bad health. So, I began the fast on saturday, the day after a doozy of a night out (I know, not recommended).

    This week in Tokyo is perfect, I started on Saturday, and Monday/Thursday/Friday are all holidays (Golden Week). So today (Tuesday) was first day of work and while at work - I find out I have to go to Beijing for the rest of the week! I nearly went out and bought a pack of cigarettes right then and there, thinking the gig is up. But I sat there with my pre-made 1 liter sports drink bottle filled with lemonade (only seasoned with CP before consuming) - and figured I could bring some lemons, a knife, my CP, salt, my liter sports bottles, and the measuring spoons and get by. The only strange bit will be if the client wants to take me to lunch, dinner, or drinks. I think I've decided I am going to then say that I am on a juice diet, and offer to join him for water during lunch.

    Things I've learned:
    1) Dont cut your fingernails during the MC. All that citrus really gets to open wounds.
    2) Dont rub your eyes either. Even after "cleaning up", I've rubbed my eyes and wish I hadnt, I suspect from the CP.
    3) Dont spray lime juice in your eye. Well, this goes without saying but yes it did happen to me on day 1.
    4) Heating up the SWF is a must. If you are struggling, I struggled terribly on day 1 (took about an hour to finish it!). Gets much easier each day, particular if you use hot water. Finished mine today in 8 minutes.
    5) The SWF will start to work. Day 1 I got nothing. Day 2, the tiniest bit, day 3 a bit more, and today was in full force!

    Only question. I've been through most of these threads, cant find a comment on this. While I drink spring water all day, for my SWF I use tap water. I believe the tap water here is un-flouridated, if that is the only concern. Also, the tea I drink with tap water. We have a great kettle and its just too easy to get hot water immediately, albeit tap. Am I risking some major issue here?

    Jennbear--tips on the swf from my experience

    1. mix up your secret recipe
    2. pour a normal sized glass
    3. act like you're going to talk in a nasal voice
    4. take a deep breath and start gulping (keep that nasal pose!)
    5. DO NOT BREATHE!!
    6. Count the gulps and set a goal for yourself, like 10 or 15.
    7. Count the gulps to a sesame street tune or something (I happen to
    like 123,456,789.10,11,12 ladybugs came to the ladybug picnic) But thats
    just my personal preference. DON'T THINK ABOUT THE SALT!!
    8. Try to do 2 quick glasses, one right after the other. Then maybe a minute
    or 2 break, then another full glass. Then I like to sit down and take 10 minutes or so before I finish off my last glass (which usually is only about 1/2 full.

    I find the hardest part is just keeping all that water down because you feel so bloated. I've never been one to drink much, which is probably why my kidneys are starting to bother me. I pledge to drink my full recommended daily allowance of water when I am finished this cleanse!

    Good luck! Hang in there. It gets easier, although I can't wait to have food again. I just love food. That will never change. I just hope I can co-exist with it in a normal fashion!

    So in my latest video, i shaved more... and since I have been super depressed, shaving made me gain like 10 pounds in the face...

    im gonna go cry in the corner, my car died the other day, and now i cant get my bike fixed. there was more bad, but ill not get into it...

    good morning everyone!!

    mc 1/day seven for me

    im soooo freezing, and it doesnt help that the a/c blows right on me at my desk at work, and its not even warm out... i wore a scarf today and everyone is laughing

    no one really understands my doing this cleanse, but everyone is being pretty cool. this weekend i went to some birthday parties and they went pretty late and over the course of the evening i ran out of lemonade and i was really hungry. i said to my boyfriend, "i want just one dorrito" and he said "no they dont taste good, eww, you dont want that!!" he has been helpful and does a little kiddish patronizing. i did tell him that if i tell him im gonna break my cleanse or say i want food he needs to talk me out of it. luckily ive only needed his services twice

    its been 7 days and it doesnt even feel like it. im planning on breaking saturday morning. i wish i could go longer but my birthday and mothers day are on sunday and the fam and i are going to a FABULOUS buffet and i want to be able to eat solid foods by then. lol. i dont think i'll be able to over-do it luckily. i doubt i'll be able to fit much in

    This is my first day, and I am so curious as to how this will all turn out. I have done short 3 day water flushes before but never this one. I am not that hungry right now, but I would kill for a cup of coffee. Everything is in a fog right now from lack of caffeine. Thanks for any support

    Default quick question

    if instead of mixing the syrup, lemon juice, and cayenne with water, would it be alright to just take them and wash them down with a bottle of water. Dont really care for the taste and I have always been a bit of a baby when it comes to stomaching things I really dont like. I just thought that this way would seem easier for someone like me and was just wondering if it would make a difference or if it would basically be the same. Thanks to anyone who can help me out, and good luck to everyone.

    Hi everybody -

    This is day 4 of my first MC. I had a headache for 2 days from stopping my caffeine intake.

    Other than that, it's been pretty uneventful for me. I expected days 2 and 3 to be the worst, but it hasn't been that awful! I have missed food, but I'm not really hungry. First day I had 6 glasses of lemonade, 2nd day 8 glasses, 3rd day 6 glasses. Drank Smooth Move each night. I can only drink 16 ounces of the SWF so far, and I do get some results. There isn't much to pass at this point. I'm starting to drink plain water in addition to the lemonade.

    Today I am tired, and was tired all morning, it is getting a little better now at 2:30 pm. It could be detoxing, or partly that my Bernese Mountain Dog Rosie has been waking me up at 5:15 a.m. for the past two days to be let outside!! Good thing the back yard is fenced and I didn't have to walk her!

    I'm shooting for 10 days. The real test will be the Cinco de Mayo party I'm going to on Saturday night, which will be my 8th day. I read that some people lose their desire for food, so I'm hoping that happens to me! Before Saturday!

    Went to bed at like 2 am!! Last night was the 1st night I took the tea (finally acquired it!! And I dont' know what the deal is, but it seems like about from the moment I took the 1st sip, my stomach was doing all kinds of stuff.. etc, and for the next few hours, I was goin, going, going to the BR. T

    My stomach has never did so much gurgling as it did last night and this morning!! This whole week, I dont' ever remember my stomach doing that! ... weird!
    This morning I was expelling "flushing" episodes, as if the swf was still doing it's thing???
    And.. this morning it felt like I had the urge to have a solid poo... so that's cool!! Maybe soon huh???? Woo hoo!!
    The scale finally showed a wt loss of 7 lbs, so that's great!! I'm excited about that!!-- among other things! (My scale doesn't work well consistently-- I have to get on it like 10x or so, to get an accurate reading... it gets "sticky"/ stiff.)
    I'd sure like to buy a lemon tree!!! -- Would be a great investment!! Hmm......
    It's only 10/ __ days out of 365!!!!

    We CAN do it!! We WILL do it!!
    It's worth it!

    You were right, I changed my signature. I did the first two cleanses last year. I also decided to go for only 16 days instead of 20 this time around.

    Today is day 2 for me. I feel pretty awful. Actually decided to take the day off today and am in bed, resting. I've got a headache and am pretty crampy all over (I worked out yesterday). I'm really hoping that this is temporary and will be over tomorrow or on Thursday at the latest. I'm having cravings for bacon (which I rarely eat). Drinking more water is helpful for the headaches and the crampiness.

    On the otherside, I did drop 2.5 pounds overnight. Went down to 155.5 pounds I know it is water (I was pretty bloated and had eaten a lot for the two days before I started the cleanse.) I weighed 152 four days ago so I'm hoping to get into the 140s by the beginning of next week.

    I wish that I still had my journal from the last cleanse I did, but I do remember that I did some exercise towards the end, which helped move my weight down. During my first cleanse, I lost a pound a day, religiously. During the second cleanse, I lost an average of a pound a day, but it would come off as one pound one day, a half pound the next, then nothing, then a pound and a half, pretty frustrating. I do remember that the days when I exercised I lost. I didn't do too much, primarily jogging slower than usual and weight lifting less than usual, maybe every other day. But it did help.

    MC 3- May 2007 (16 days)
