Day 7, I am so proud to say. This is my first fast ever. Yesterday was not good.

My issue is burping/belching/gas. It's normal for me to burp when my stomach is empty. That hasn't always been the case and I find it troubling. Basically if I go more than 4 hours w/o eating I start to burp. Now on the MC it's the same thing - early mornings and right before bed I start burping. What could be the cause of this? Any ideas

    thanks
    taj

Look in the bottom right hand corner of your own post and see the "quote" button? Just click on that and you can have the post right in front of you as you reply. Plus you can edit out to just the part that you want to include in your reply, as I did here...

Day 7. Feeling good. I've upped my maple syrup because I realized with 6 lemonades a day and one tablespoon I was not getting 1200 calories a day. I had read the body goes into starvation mode if it dips below that. I had tried to up the lemonades, but it's hard for me to take down so much liquid with all the water required. I'll see how I do today. I had a pizza eating dream and spit it out because, in the dream, I remembered I was on the cleanse. I don't eat pizza often at all, so it was funny!

Feeling centered. I've been meditating in the mornings at the SWF does it think. Once again, I am appreciating the clarity the cleanse brings.

I've decided to embrace Day 7. I did not have a hard Day 7 on my last cleanse, so I'm expecting a good day. My skin looks clear as well. It's funny. I have good skin, yet I see a difference on the cleanse.

Weightloss has been in the medium range, but I am reminded that I am already in the normal range for my weight.

Happy cleansing to all!! Listen to your bodies.

I bought two books off of Amazon. Raw Foods for Busy People - Simple and Machine Free Recipes for Every Day by Jordan Maerin and Student's Go Vegan Cookbook by Carole Raymond. I'm still no expert, but I can tell you that these recipes are so much SIMPLER and less time-consuming than others I've seen. Maybe these two books could help ease your transition??
I'm on day 11 and thinking of going to 15 or maybe 21...not sure. One day at a time.
Thank you so much for the book titles!!! I am definitely going to include more and more raw into my diet and I don't want to buy all the machines and gadgets all at once - too expensive! I'll check these two books out and see if they are what I'm looking for.

I'm also on day 11 and will be going to day 14. Happy cleansing!

I’m going to answer some of the questions I see coming in from newbies and others. Here goes:

Katiebeth527 – Yes, it is quite necessary to have “plain water” (spring or purified!) throughout the day. It is ESSENTIAL. The water helps to wash through the toxins which are being expelled by your system. If you don’t wash them through, then those toxins will be reabsorbed. The tea and SWF are a major part of that flushing, but not the only part. Peter advises that you “drink enough additional water so that you have drunk at lease one ounce of water or lemonade for each two pounds of body weight each day.” (from his book p. 28 )

Emilyj1987 – You must use fresh squeezed lemon juice on the Master Cleanse. The reason is that lemon juice from a bottle (even if it is organic) is pasteurized. It has been heated to high temperatures to kill germs and to improve shelf life, but that process also kills all the benefical enzymes which help greatly in detoxification. (Peter’s book p. 22) Your Day 1 will begin the day that you are using fresh lemons. You have great enthusiasm and purpose. I wish you the best!

Hawaiian – The taste in your mouth is a common detoxification symptom. You can brush your tongue and some have recommended a tongue scraper. You can get these at health food stores. I use one and highly recommend it. It helps. Also, if you haven’t have any SWF elimination for the past 3-4 days, I think you probably need to increase the amount of salt you are using by ½ t if it’s the coarse kind and by ¼ t. if it’s the finely ground type. You definitely want to get those eliminations going. Are you drinking the proper amount of water throughout the day for your body weight? Also, don’t drink water or your first lemonade until after the SWF starts working.

Lia – Yes, you can go to 1 T. of maple syrup per drink rather than two, but don’t go below that. There is more on this in the newbies thread.

    Hope this helps!

    MC-1 Day 7
Overall feeling pretty good, having some minor hunger pains around dinner time but they go away after drinking more lemonade. I have been feeling tired for most of the cleanse. I have had to cut my yoga (Bikram) down from 4-5 days a week to only twice since starting, day 1 and 5. I have definitely noticed the SWF getting easier each day and have had eliminations everyday with the exception of day 2. I have lost 12 pounds so far, started at 207(6’ tall) and I would like to get down to 185 eventually. Kudos to everyone for sticking with the MC, it is one of the hardest things I have ever done!

Good Morning everyone! Well, Day 6!! Things are going great.... I had a hard time last night though... really wanted to quit. My roommate came home with chinese food... ah I know gross! It just looked soooo good and got me thinking how much I really miss food... but then I realized, I'm not even hungry!? I think just the idea of eating anything right now would taste good.... but I ignored it and came on here to read everyones posts and it took my mind off of it! I woke up this morning feeling amazing! I have soooo much energy and I just feel great! I am going for 10 days, maybe 14 but I start a new job on day 11 so I haven't decided yet.... Just drinking my salt water right now - I haven't been able to do them everymorning because I have class at 8 every morning but Im done now so will def up the swf but been drinking the tea and its starting to work much better. Still haven't eliminated much but atleast a little every day... Anyways, just wanted to say I think everyone here is amazing and I wouldnt be able to do this cleanse without this board. Thanks guys, happy cleansing!!

Day 6 Wheeeee!!! Over half way thru first MC!

Woke up very stiff and sore in lower right back, which makes me wonder about my kidneys. And my skin broke out pretty badly on my neck and head yesterday.

My goal is to detoxify, lower my blood pressure and kick start a healthier lifestyle. I like the Fit For Life plan and used to follow it once upon a time. Had healthy skin , thicker, glossier hair, and very good restful sleeps.
