    MC2 - day 1

    Good Afternoon Everyone..

    THis is day 1 of my second cleanse and although my first one 4 or 5 months ago was very successful and easy, I am very down about this one.. you see.. I ate horrribly.. and gained back all my weight and feel so big and bloated... I want so desperately to eat a vegan diet, but go to bad foods and drink for comfort. So I have been thinking about cleaning out - have attempted 2 juice fasts, but always go back to bad food.. I figure if I can't have any food, I'll be more successful... but this is a tough time of year..and it is hard for me to give up food... So here I am day 1.. so far so good - did my SWF, and have had 4 glasses so far.. I know as I start to shed the poison I'll feel happier and more excited about my new eating plan...

    You won't believe this....

    I watched my neighbor's little boy while she went to a doctor's appointment this morning. Guess who showed up with McDonalds as a thank you???!!! I can be very strong but put it right in front of me and I just.....I just....I don't have that much willpower. My gosh, the stuff is like crack! It is the one thing I have a weakness for....I quit smoking pot and cogarettes easily.....even soda, though the evil drink walks hand in hand with the fast food.....was doable....I am going to do research on why fast food is addictive and maybe I will be so horrified and grossed out I'll never touch it again.

    My plan was: do MC one, go vegetarian. Do MC 2, go vegan. Do MC 3, transition to raw vegan. I really want to do this and know all the reasons why TO do it and all the reasons NOT to continue on the SAD.

    I guess I am primarily vegetarian as of now. At least red meat.

    Hey everyone,

    I'm on day 15 and hanging strong! Actually, once you get 4-5 days in you can lose track and the days fly by - almost too fast! I'm trying to get some other goals done while I'm on the M.C. and am falling behind... I need to get cracking. The one thing that starts to get me down a bit is how much I dread the crampiness I get from the senna tea. That in combination with the swf in the morning leaves me feeling really under the weather for a few hours. Fortunately I work from home, but still... it's rough.

    koan, Congratulations on your commitment to getting healthy, and I think you'll be surprised at how easily you can get through detox symptoms on the M.C. I've done straight water fasts before and had to suffer through mad headaches and other discomforts, but on this method of cleansing I don't suffer any of them. Hang in there!

    nurse2b, I've had false starts in the past as well. Don't even let it get you down. Just restart with a fresh commitment. The first few days ARE the toughest, so just get through those and you'll settle in. You can do it!

    Bella: Good job on making it to Day 15! Nice plug for the cleanse too and you're right - once you're past the first 4-5 days the routine settles in and away you go.

    psstt: Take one day at a time but commit for the entire 10. It's rocky starting out but soon you'll be the one doing the encouraging. You've taken the hardest step which is "starting". You may want to rent the DVD "Super Size Me" to watch while you're cleansing. I've done this 4 or 5 times. It helps you to remember "why" you're cleansing and steers you away from fast food which isn't really food at all.

    Way to start!

    I am almost to the end of day 3 and am so amazed at how great I feel - I cleaned house for 2 hours straight today and just got in from shoveling the driveway! I would appreciate some incite on 2 questions I have: is there anything that can be done about the bad breath that comes with fasting and is it OK to drink the lemonade warm? I was encouraged when Peter said to use a little cayenne if you can't hanldle 1/10th tsp. I'm getting used to it.

    Good for you, jo girl!

    You can definitely drink the lemonade warm. The best way to do it is to heat your water and add that to your MS, lemon juice, and cayenne. Heating the other ingredients can destroy vital enzymes.

    On the MC you are allowed "occasional" mint tea. That helps a lot with bad breath! Also, be sure you're drinking plenty of plain water in addition to your lemonade.

    This was supposed to be the end of my 5th day on the cleanse but...i broke it :'( i ate so much....i cudn't help myself. i can't believe i broke it. i feel so disappointed in myself. i kept smelling food and i was like oh i'll just have one, and then i couldn't stop...it tasted so good! But now I feel so gross. I can't believe I broke it. All of those 5 days are wasted now. My stomach is so sore...it must've shrunk or something since I've been on the cleanse. I can hardly sit:0 It's so gross and sore. I can't believe I broke it. I forgot about everything the moment i put food in my mouth. I just can't do this cleanse thing. I don't understand how everyone else can do it.

    Hello all,
    Just a Quick update, we are on day 4 and feeling very good. Day three was kinda miserable for us, we were both very hungry and detoxing pretty heavy. I dont want to be too disgusting, but Im wondering if anyone is expieriencing raw butt hole syndrome..lol.lol. I think from the detox that my butt pee is making my ass really sore. Im just wodering if this is normal or should I do somthing about it. I feel great otherwise.I didnt work out yesterday.My legs were really sore from the running the day before. I plan on running and walking today. I am really looking foward to the next few days of feeling good. Good luck everyone and DONT QUIT! I know its hard, but is sooo worth it. Food will taste twice as good when its over. GOD BLESS....Matty

    So sorry to hear that, teki! But you aren't the first to have problems the first time around.

    The good news is, now you know what to expect. The next time you start the MC, you can be much better prepared. You now have time to find all the right ingredients (including Celtic salt, if you didn't use that this time around).

    But even more important, you now have time to get yourself prepared mentally. I think that far more than "half the battle" with cleansing is mental. Even though I cleanse regularly, there are certain times when it's just not a good idea for me, because I'm not fully committed. So I wait until I know I'll stick with it.

    So congratulations on your 5 days. The discomfort you're experiencing may last a while today, but it will probably be gone by tomorrow. Just take it easy, and the cleanse and this board will still be here next time!
