I am new to the board. Today is actually Day 2 for me. I must say that I am doing a lot better than I expected. I didn't take the tea the night before day 1 nor the swf on day 1, so i don't know if that day really counted. I have had some cravings for food only when I have had to prepare my daughter's meals. I hope to do at least ten days. I would appreciate any words of advice or encouragement.

Inx--Your video was hysterical. Instead of going to Denny's, maybe you could unpack some of those boxes Can I have my earring back?

Made it thru the smell of tacos ok. But it frustrates me when people don't finish their food. I just want to lick the plate. I have a lime/maple slushy in the freezer. Trying something new. I'll do the cp shot before it so I can enjoy the sweet/sour "ice cream" all alone!! I hope it works. I tried to make maple syrup candy in the freezer on mc1 but it didn't freeze Can't blame me for trying.

I'm heading out for a walk now. Beautiful night! Talk to you all tomorrow.
meh, theres no place in the apt for whats in those boxes.

And you're strong enough to see it through and to do it right, so just shut up and do it."

    Anybody? Thanks in advance,

Michael, you are a little older than my son so I feel qualified to step in.
(think of me as a tough mamma speaking)

Do you WANT to continue to suffer from "arthritis in knees, constant tension headaches, shortness of breath, upset stomach, insomnia, social anxiety, fatigue, restlessness, irritability, ADD..."?

    Yes? No?

To make the decision, you need to choose either:

    1. A daily intake of coffee, alcohol, cigarettes and junk food to the point where you feel like cacca
    2. A serious adjustment on how you take care of your body

At 30 there may be enough time to save your butt (strange things happen at each age so I'm not going for a full positive).

Dedicating yourself TOTALLY to the Master Cleanse just might be a start on the way to health.

Please note: drinking and smoking is not the MC, so you are wasting your time and resources.

At 40 it gets tougher to fix what you've broken. You look older than your mates. The young things no longer smile at you, but look straight through you. Or even (GASP) laugh in your direction (and not in a good way). Your clothes don't fit very well so you find yourself buying baggier items. You have shortness of breath in a scary way, so make all sorts of excuses to keep away from what COULD help you - exercise, and (this is the really painful part) even the fun stuff (we all know what that is).

At 50 your body is tired. Oh, so very tired. Your skin is slack. Undressing in front of a mirror is a habit you gave up long ago. Your body is breaking down because you haven't made the effort to keep it up. Putting in the effort to fix it at this time may just be creating a nicer looking corpse, BUT, life can be improved (as long as you don't drop dead from a heart attack after eating all that cacca for so long).

It's all up to you. You can walk through door number one. Or door number two. Your choice.

    regards,
    mamma

    GGGRRRRRRRRRR!!!

Today I passed by Mc Donalds, Carl's Jr, Taco Bell, Subway, El Pollo Loco, a box of doughnuts at work, I almost jumped over the counter at my Dr's office to take some hot cheetos away from one of the girls eating in the back, I wanted to open a can of fat free pringles, every comercial that shows food, i want.... I thought about quitting like 5 times today, then I realized, i wasn't even hungry for all that food, I only wanted it.... Uh... can you say "detox" ???

    Sheesh! what a relief!

Ok, i'm going to drink my tea and go straight to bed! I hope that I don't have any of these cravings tomorrow!

    Good night everyone,
hope you all day a good day.

I've got good news. The agency I was freelancing for wants me to come to NY and work from there for a while. Whoohooo. This is a large part of what I was fasting and praying for and it feels great to get to this point. I se t out saying I would fast for positivity and focus (and healing of course) until I got a job. I broke my fast on Friday then got the offer to come to NY on Monday. What a blessing!!

It's all very quick and it'll probably disturb my 2 wk raw fiesta, but I've got to give thanks continually for this opportunity.

Thanks to all those who prayed for me and supported me and wished me well. I really appreciated all the positive energy you all sent my way. I'm really happy right now.

welcome Jennbear - welcome to the bb. Be sure to read the General Help for Newbies thread. the swf gets easier over time, keep going at it.
I got your question about having the items separately via email and since you posted it here too, i'll just reply here.
I don't think it's a good idea to have them separately because they work best together. pure lemon juice will not be good on your teeth or your throat. Nor will the maple syrup. You probably won't feel as full from it either because sipping on the drink or gulping a bit of it really helps with the occasional hunger pangs and keeps you going consistently through the day.
You can make the drink to taste how you'd like by adjusting the ingredeints (except for the lemon juice). You can also use some of the suggested alternatives for the maple syrup that are listed in the Newbies thread.
it's only ten days, and you need to decide whether it's worth it to you or not.

Lindsey - welcome to the bb! please read the general help for newbies thread. i responded to your question in another thread. just a bb fyi, try not to post the same thing in more than one place.

    - i'm proud of you too! the scale is a liar. kick it.

welcome scottg. life is full of challenges but that's what makes us strong right? you wouldn't know how tough you were unless you were tested.
As long as your tongue is white you're on the right track. be patient for everything else.
I made the mistake of rubbing my eyes once after messing with some cayenne pepper. yowsers.
I think sticking to spring water for everything you're putting in your body right now is best. flourine may not be the biggest problem in the water right now. who knows what else is in those pipes or the ground or whereever water comes from. Right now, treat your body like a brand new piece of white clothing.
Stay strong and be proud to be an ex-smoker!

irhxcbher - glad to hear about your tongue. my fav thing of people to say is that "it's not healthy to not eat" or that "you're starving yourself" they usually shut up when they see me running around and bouncing off the walls with energy.

Marielle - at my job during my aug cleanse i'd wear 2 sweaters and gloves. they thought i was nuts.
I love that your bf was being so helpful while you're cleansing. it helps to have someone that won't let you cheat yourself.

welcome mookie47 - this is going to turn out well. think positive and be positive. be sure to read the general help for newbies thread.

welcome kfz911 - there are some headache remedies in the newbies thread. the newest one i saw on Rachel Ray's tv show was to hold a pencil between your teeth and i'll be a monkey's uncle, it really works.
work your way up with the swf, you'll get it.

hey katiebeth - my stomach is usually so loud on the cleanse. but then after day 15 or maybe it was 20 (they all roll into one) I realised the noise and the cravings were all gone. like magic.
that's good that you were eliminating. better out than in!

kaanai - why the switch from 20 to 16? just wondering why not 15 or 17 the earlier days are the worst, stick thru it, it'll be worth it.
i keep all my cleanse journals as word docs on my comp. tips to all: reference them when you start a new cleanse to note similarities and differences. also good to keep track of your water, lemonade, inches and symptoms. it was also great to have somewhere to vent where no one else could judge me or get their feelings hurt.

hi dernksp - welcome to the bb. No gum msorry. You should give the swf a try if you really want to have the best results, it may take a few days, but it gets easier. you've got to be strong and diligent. Please read the general help for newbies thread for tips and advice. If you're going to do the cleanse, it's important to do it right to get the best results and to not cause yourself any harm.

welcome jwhite313 - you can add a bag of peppermint tea and maple syrup to your lax tea. read the newbies thread for that and other important tips.

Welcome JimmyC - make sure you do alot of research and read the general help for newbies thread before you start so you know what to expect. knowing is half the battle.

hi Heidi000 - glad you're drinking water and sticking in there. very proud of you. sorry to break the cleanse you gotta stick with citrus as burroughs suggests. you can have the veggie juice on the eve of day 2 as your broth and anytime you want after day4 when you are free to return to normal eating.
Burroughs says using the lemon rinds produces greater laxative effect in his book. However, only do this if you have organic lemons. pesticides and wax and colouring are not too good for you.

Shellied - a fruit plate is a good idea. just give your body time. i'm having raw and still feeling bloated and discomfort from the most random things after my 32 day cleanse. So trust me when I stress the importance of taking it easy.

Lia - glad to hear from you, keep going strong.

ToughGuy - welcome to the bb. the cleanse will definitely help you and i think it's a good plan for you to do it and make a solid exit plan for life after the cleanse. that's where the hard work really comes in.
OOOOh i just continued reading your post. so you haven't really started cleansing yet I see. right now you're just practicing. Mochas, cigarettes, and chocolate chip cookies are not part of the cleanse. sorry to disappoint. You're actually doing more harm than good by what you're doing. So stop it. Immediately.
Please read the General help for newbies thread, there's a post on page 4 I think that's a motivational kick in the butt speech in green. read that and spank yourself on the wrist. When you follow the cleanse the way it was written you get the best results.

Hi inneedofclean, welcome to the bb. glad you're doing well. you can do this. stick in there. read the newbies thread.

Hi Shellied and Peanutterb: Thank you both for your posts. I've read the Master Cleanser and read a ton of stuff on this website and bb... A friend of mine mistakenly had me doing a "partial" detox back at the start of April... 6 lemons a day, 3 in the morning 3 at night, plus 2 tbsp MS each and cayenne, plus one EmergenC at morning and night. I did feel better doing this (did it for about a week and a half), but at the same time I was still eating, smoking, drinking coffee, etc.

So then I read the MC and said "I have to do it right." Now I realize I wasn't totally prepared to just STOP the coffee and cigarettes. Still, my resolve is strong... I have to change... If I don't I'll regret it, for the rest of my life...

So tomorrow is my Day 1... No matter what, no matter what! I'm taking my life back.

    ToughGuy,

I checked out Emergen-C as I'd never heard of it, and the ingredients include fructose. I'm not sure it's allowed on this cleanse, but I'd be interested in trying it out after I'm on the other side.

Good luck on your first day!

    Hey all,

Today is day 12 Whoo hooo I can not believe that I have come so far. And that is so true for me because I was a total food junkie. Food was my comfort, I ate when I was sad, happy, pmsing, angry, bored, etc. But doing the cleanse has helped me see all of the was I view food. Wow what a blessing. Still shooting for 15 days, probably going to stop there but who knows we might be inspired to go on, or not.

Peanutterb Congrats on the new Job that is wonderful.

inneedofclean You are doing great. You do need to be sure to drink your tea and SWF. But I understand about when you had to cook, because I have to do the same for my son. But it does get easier. Just keep you lemonade close by. And just take it one day at a time.

Shellied My husband took that before the cleanse and will probably do so on the other side. It comes in many different flavors. It was recommended to us by my Chiropractic doctor. It really helped him through the cold season.

Well that is it for now I have to got take a mid-term test Wish me luck.

    Lia,

Thanks! I'll pick some up when I'm in the US as the end of the month. With all the travel, I may be fighting off other peoples germs so I imagine it'll come in use.

    CONGRATs on day 12!

I just finished mine and it was ... normal for my days now. I didn't even notice I was on the MC (of course I didn't drink the tea). I ran all over the place with a contractor, up stairs, down stairs, walking everywhere. I only got hungry twice and I'm on half rations. This morning I found a glass left over, so yesterday I forgot to drink the it as I just wasn't hungry.

"Well that is it for now I have to got take a mid-term test Wish me luck"

    Good luck!
