Marielle,

If you are on day 6 then i'm sure it's normal to only be eliminating liquids since you haven't had any solid food for those 6 days.. right?

I know it's different for everyone based on what their body needs to eliminate and how fast it does eliminate it.

I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.

HELP! I am on day TWO of my first cleanse, and am ready to quit! I have not eliminated at all today (although i did a TON yesterday). Is it okay for me to drink the lax tea or salt water at a different time of day (other than morning or night)? Also, i have a splitting headache i can almost not handle it. Is it okay for me to take IB profin? I know its probably not, but i really feel like i need to!!!!
HELP! PLEASE!

Hi everyone,

katiebeth - You're famous! Peter used a quote from one of your posts yesterday in his Master Cleanse/Raw Food Lifestyle E-newsletter that came in my email first thing this AM. Congratulations! It was your observation about trying to do some water fasting until late afternoon when you switched to your "lemon-aid". Isn't it great that a effective cleanse doesn't have to be as "tough" as water fasting?

I'm on day 12 and feeling proud of myself. It was tough for me for the first 8 days. I had so many cravings for bad food! Just goes to show how badly I had been eating recently. This is just the adjustment I need.

Now I'd say I'm pretty much on auto-pilot...much to my relief!

Oh yeah, I did a Suddenly Slender Power Wrap today. Very wierd. I thought it would help detox my breasts! They've been sore this entire cleanse, and I never get sore breats...even with my periods, so this has been quite uncomfortable every day and night. It doesn't seem to go away! Well, gotta go...more on that wrap later. An interesting experience!!

Jillmarie,

Have you read the thread General Help for Newbies? If not, go there and start at the beginning.

All of what you're experiencing is perfectly normal. They're detox symptoms, and you definitely need to go through them, not suppress them. Drink more lemonade, drink more water, go to bed if you have to. Things will be different tomorrow!

The SWF is for morning only, on an empty stomach. The lax tea is for just before bed only (and again in the morning only IF you aren't doing the SWF). So you shouldn't do those except at the proper times.

You can have a cup of mint tea occasionally if it sounds good.

No ibuprofen on the cleanse. You want to get that stuff out of you, not in you! There are natural headache remedies in the Newbies thread too.

Hang in there! It will get better if you just relax and ride it out.

Hi All,

On Day 8 over here. Looking forward to seeing it through. My mind keeps telling me it's Day 9. Funny how that works, huh?!

I feel I'm in that spiritual space the cleanse brings, been waking up early from the tea and examining my professional goals and strategy. I'm in a peaceful place.

Trying to figure out my transition days. On my first day I'm home. The second day of transition I'm out of town. I'm just trying to figure out how I"m going to handle it since the food is part of the event. I guess I will eat the veggies and keep things light.

Congrats to all who got through the day!

Wink Re: What day are you on and How are you doing: General Check in

Hey guys. Well I am in Southern IL at the moment at my mothers house. I thought it would be easier down here, since my family tends to eat either foods I don't like, a lot of meat, or just crap foods, but its been so much harder!!! I want to eat so bad. And even though I am on day 17 and I only have 3 more days to go, I want to quit right now lol. But my family won't let me! But towards the end of the week, my sister is going to take me to the health food store down here, and then early next week she is going to take me to Olive Garden. Apparently they have veggie and organic dishes, she has a friend who is vegan and that is the only place around here that he will eat at, so I assume I will be okay as well.
The past two days I have had the worst cramps ever! I really felt like I was just going to roll over and die today. And yesterday I was elminating soooooo much and it was burning so much I was grumpy the whole day. I know this is supposed to happen and its a good thing, I just have not experienced it yet, so it was a little nervewracking. I am thinking maybe its the change of climate and activity level for me. Who knows. But I cannot wait to eat lol. Sadly I am craving fried chicken but I am going veggie after this and I will never taste that horrible flesh ever again (Sorry to those that are not veggies!!)
Hope everyone is well!

2 things - 1. Remember to take longer to break your fast since you did a longer fast. 20 days means 5 days breaking. so stay with juice and raw foods. you might want to wait on the olive garden, it might be a little rough on your system. just be very careful. i have been eating raw but am s till having discomfort.

2. olive garden - i'm not too sure about their "vegan" options. i've done some research previously cus that's where we went for my friend's grad dinner when she got her masters and me and another guy there were vegan (not strict) and i had breadsticks and minestrone and he had eggplant parm without the parm.
and according to this website i use to check out restaurants - http://www.vegetarian-restaurants.ne...ive-Garden.htm
i donno how updated the info is, but i'd suggest you make some calls.
"Olive Garden (www.olivegarden.com)
If you don't eat eggs there is not much reason to come here, as almost all the dishes contain meat and eggs. The pastas are made with eggs and the breading for the Eggplant Parmigiana contains eggs. Their house dressing contains eggs and cheese.
One time I came here and asked the waitress what I could eat considering I was a vegetarian and did not eat eggs. Luckily she was a vegetarian (who ate eggs) and she went back in the kitchen and checked the ingredients of everything and she could not find anything that I could eat.
"

If you're planning on just being octo-lacto-vegetarian it'll be ok.
If you're just planning on taking it slow, the salad and soup should be fine (but be careful with the dressing) and try to avoid the bread. (tho it is so delicious) lol

Hey everyone,
It is the end of my first day and I feel like I'm dying!! My head is killing me and I'm extremely nauseous. Halfway thru my second lemonade is when the nausea started and I couldn't get anything else down for the rest of the day. I know you are supposed to have 6 a day but I'm not hungry at all- just nauseous! I'm gonna try to get a good night's sleep tonight and hopefully I will be up for my usual AM workout- probably gonna take the tea in the morning instead of the SWF since that tends to make me sick to my stomach as well ...
Night everyone & Good luck tomorrow!

Default Day 15 of my 1st cleanse and a have a few questions...

Peanut or others with experience....

I have a couple questions.....

I cannot find Grade B maple syrup anywhere locally. Per Borroughs book, I am using organic Grade A MS. I would order it on-line, but that point is kind of mute right now.

Are there any ramifications of using Grade A instead of B other than more vitamins, etc in Grade B?

Also, I cannot make my drinks by the glass, so I add 3 tblsps per 64 ozs of drink that I make. Will this aid in weight loss or hinder it? My energy levels are pretty good, but I'm wondering if B would be better and/or if I am just starving my body too much and actually slowing my metabolism.

So far, I have lost about 17 lbs, but that seems to be slowing and I'm a little concerned....or maybe paranoid....admittedly.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

bob.

My metabolism has always been lower than others, so it shouldn’t surprise me that I’d need less if I were to lose weight. And lose I did. Just a little, but I’m now down 7 lbs. Hopefully this is the beginning as I need to propel myself into being lighter.

No walking yesterday. Something had to go as the crunch is on to prepare myself to leave and I’m getting all my work done for the coming month. I forgot my tea last night, but I could barely keep my eyes open at 9pm. I did drink enough water yesterday to drown a horse, so perhaps they balanced out a little.

Moods are the same, just showing a bit of frustration over the weight loss. And of course, feeling awfully hungry while roasting then serving up a whole chicken with the fixings wasn’t fun. But it wasn’t anything I couldn’t fight so I’m happy. I did dream of food for the first time though. I dreamed that I was giving up, and had the spoonful of some sort of meat with mashed potatoes almost in my mouth. And then I woke up. At 5am. So, here I am. Hungry but happy to see a move in a better direction.

Let me know if cutting back the Maple Syrup to 1T. is going because I have cut mine back but not that much. If that will help me to shead some more pounds before I am finished the that would be wonderful. And good luck with the traveling.

Irhxc.Wow man I thought you were breaking the fast on day 30 did not realize that you were still going. That is really cool. So are things look up?

Anyway welcome to all newbies, even thought I still feel like a newbie with this being my 1st cleanse. Keep reading the BB and asking question and you will be fine.

Well tonight is the end of day 10 and all is well. I am shooting for 15 so I will just take one day at a time now.

Anyway good night all.
