woohoo, day 6 and half done w/ the min recommended time! i went to a rave last night, but forgot to bring lemonade to drink before and after. oops! so i brought it to dennys in a 1 liter bottle. security guard grabbed my hand and said i couldn't bring it in. i was like sir, i'm fasting and it's maple syrup, cayanne, lemon juice and water, can i bring it in? he's like ok fine as he gave me a weird look.

B*Punk: about scaling up... 2 tablespoons = 1 oz. so in total, it's 10 oz per glass of lemonade... if you're making 64 oz of lemonade, you need about 6.4 oz of maple syrup and 6.4 oz of lemon juice, then fill your pitcher to the 64 oz mark.

Sammy: not sure about the not working swf part... but the only way i can drink it down is if it's warm/hot.

irh...hang in there. I had a bad emotional detox day yesterday, and it's not all that grand today, but I know it's just symptoms of good things at work. I don't know what your goal was with the cleanse, but at least hit it and then take it one day at a time listening to your body and doing what you can.

I really think the extra water will help you a LOT. When I read how little you were drinking it I knew immediately that was what allowed you to have so much pain.

I think it would be easy to feel a little depressed today if one focuses on what we "aren't" doing today that most everyone else is and that's eating and eating a LOT! I'm trtying to focus morer on the real rerason we have Easter and what Christ must have gone through. That surer makes my suffering through a little detox and having a bit of an emotional day seems so petty.

peanutterb...where is "back home"? I'm sorry you're having such a rough day of missing your mom and all the tradition you are use to. Enjoy your day at your aunts home. Reminissing is always fun! You are right of course, my bf probably meant nothing by it, but he knows spicy food lights my world more than any other, whether it's egg beaters with jalapenos and tobasco or a reral mexican feast...and, yes, he does miss his dining partner.

As for MonaVie...I think you'll love it.
How many days are you going for this cleanse?

SK7979...Yes, eliminations are said to be much betteer wth the swf. Have you tried it through a straw? that does make it easier. Emotional detox is a great thing. You WILL find clarity of mind, I promise! Don't feel horrible about not cooking Easter dinner. It's one easter out of your life. I know for me, next time I'll look ahead at the calendar more and not lan a fast on a holiday for my families sake. Just as there arer 355 days morer to eat in a year with a 10 day fast, I now also realize there are also that many others to choose from. Granted, i plan to do at least 3 a year, so the days narrow...but I can look ahead better and not do them at a time we have morer tradition going on. My 15 year old missed me eating Easter dinner with them.

Take advantage of your days off and make this cleanse a great experience for yourself. Pamper yourself a bit through it too by getting a massage and taking long soaks with epsom salts if possible. Don't try to hide from what you feel by sleeping all the time. It's an amazing time of self discovery.

I think for me, part of it being easier is that I didn't do it for weight loss itself. (yes, I wanted to lose a few pounds) My motivattion was to get my inner body in better condition so that I COULD lose weight when I want by getting my colon and liver to not be sluggish so my metabolism would raise a bit. Now, having said that...have I lost weight? yes, I believe I have. I'll know how much when I weigh at the end of this journey, which will be tomorrow.

The reason I say all of that is that if you look at something as doing it for overall better health and not diet...I think it becomes so much easier.

Happyhappyjoyjoy...you arer so inspirational. Will you be coming back in July to join us for another cleanse?

Sammy...Are you drinking plenty of water? It will help pull the salt from your body. I retained a bit of water with the flush. I never put salt on food...so the swf is a shocker to my system in more ways than one I am surer! Continue the swf as explained and you WILL begin to have more eliminations. I drink the entirer 32 oz. in about 2 to 3 minutes and it goes through me generally within 15 minutes after about the 3rd day.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous day!
    Hugs to you all...

    Hi All!

Day 5 for me. Drank my SWF at 6am and went back to sleep (worked great yesterday) but today, 7 hours later, no flush yet! I dreamed that I was eating fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies right next to my dh and he didn't remind me I was cleansing/fasting until after I had eaten it! I was all in a panic on how to get it out of me. I'm so glad it was only a dream.

I realized yesterday that I think I just want to do a 10 day instead of the 14 day I originally planned. My joints were feeling fragile, like my wrist was pulling out and I wondered if I could be doing myself harm by detoxing. Hmm...as I type that I realize the silliness of the statement! :-) But today my wrist is fine, so I'm telling myself I'll know on day 10 if I want to go longer.

I love smelling food and really enjoy cooking for the family. But I do notice that it's hard to shop when I don't have enough lemonade in me (Every two hours is best for me) and I find myself wanting to eat everything for the taste of it, not because I'm feeling hungry.

I've been saving my portion of some of the dinners and putting it in the freezer so I can have some healthy tasty lunches when I'm back to food again. Lunch tends to be my downfall...most likely to be skipped meal...or snacked through. So this is my attempt at self-care! Take care all!

Day 8 for me here and I just spent the last hour getting caught up with everything on the board! Gosh so many new people!!

I wanted to add my 2 cents to the SWF discussion... this is my 2nd MC and I have found the SWF to work fine for me and relatively easy! The most difficult part of it is getting up so freakin' early in the morning to do it!

sammy- make sure that you follow the recipe correctly... I mix mine up at night in a water bottle and seal it up so my water doesn't evaporate. Make sure that you are NOT using table salt. You need to get the uniodized sea salt. Try sipping it thru a large straw... see if any of that helps..

Jenna- I work in a call center same hours as you and I haven't had any "embarrasing" problems at work. I do take my lemonade supplies to work so I can mix up a fresh batch of LA there. My co-workers think I'm weird, but that's no different than before the MC so...

So when I compare this cleanse to my 1st on in January, I'm noticing a lot more in my eliminations than last time. I'm glad I decided to go for 14 days this time...

Must go lurk in other threads...

    Love,
    lefsj

Talking Re: What day are you on and How are you doing: General Check in

I just finished a 15 day cleanse on Tuesday Lost 12 lbs but more importantly 2" at my chest, waist and hips and feel great. Bought 2 books on raw eating and will try to eat as raw as I can. I've lost another lb since Tuesday, I've been juicing and eating the vegetable broth that is in both Stanley Burroughs' book and Peter Glickman's, as well as lots of fruits and vegs. By the way if you don't have The Master Cleanser and Lose Weight, Have More Energy & Be Happier in 10 Days books you really should get them. They saved me through this cleanse (my first). The first book explains everything about the cleanse and the second has a collection of emails from people who have done this and at my low point I kept reading it and it help me get through the difficult part. For me the fourth day was the worst with a fever of 101.7. If I had to do over I would have drank much more water besides the lemonade. Usually drink 2 liters/day but I cut down with all the lemonade I was drinking and I believe my body wasn't able to eliminate them as well. Once I increase my water intake I felt better over night.

This cleanse is well worth the suffering. The energy, weight loss and how much better my skin looks has convince me and I will do my next cleanse in another 3 months. So stick to it and make sure you follow the instructions.

thanks for the advice, deba and lefsj! i really appreciate it. i am using two teaspoons of celtic sea salt. i was using regular uniodized sea salt and then decided to try the celtic based on some people's suggestions. and i sm mixing it in a 32 oz bottle of lukewarm water. today i had a very small elimination. but just one (and that's including whatever effects the laxative tea are having). weird. i also dn't put salt on my food ever, so maybe that has something to do with it? i'm going to try to drink lots more water and keep you posted on how it is going.

other than that... day 5! i have never stuck with anything so long in my life. seriously. and i cannot believe i am not eating!!! i ALWAYS eat. and today i went for a run and i feel great. yay! so all i really need to conquer is that damn swf.

oh, i'm not losing weight though. and i swear i am doing everything right. why is that?

    peace and blessings.

I'm not doing so well - this by far is the hardest thing that I have ever done - the fasting isn't that bad because the hunger goes and comes but I'm starving right now and I'm waiting for my husband to come back from the grocery store wtih lemons.

Today is Easter and on the phone he told me he bought himself a mini easter dinner at the supermarket and I started crying because I felt so bad.

I'm a reck right now and know that I really need to do this mentally, physically, emotionally I just don't know if I can.

I have off from work all week so minus a few days in and out, hopefully I will be able to sleep off many of the bad emotions going through me.

Any encouragement from anyone would be wonderful.
sk7979 Hang in there. I finished by first cleanse (15 days) and the benefits were incredible. Lost 12lbs and 2" at chest, waist & hips along with more energy. Try to have enough lemons on hand so you don't run out. Since you're hungry you may need to drink more LA. Are you following the receipe? I found that I need to have the LA every 1.5-2 hrs or my energy would drop suddenly. That also kept me from feeling hungry. It's hard to do this over a holiday but if you can get through today, think how much easier the rest will be. Trust me I had a couple of low points. One day ended up with a fever of 101.7, I think I wasn't drinking enough extra water to help flush out the toxins. Try warming the water for the SWF, it might help, it did for me. Good luck.

Peanutturb....Thanks for answering my questions from yesterday...I really appreciate all the advice and support I can get!

Today is day #6 and I have felt pretty good today! I had a big ellimination this A.M. after my SWF, but I notice when I do drink water my tummy gets really irritated! It's hard to drink water also since I feel really full on the Lemonade, but I'm over half way through and if all I am going to experience is a little upset tummy, then I can make it!

I also wanted to add to all the people who are new and asking about the SWF....On my first day, it was really hard to drink it...day 2 I threw up most of it...by day 3, it was pretty easy to get down and by today, my 6th day, it's something I look forward to! It is a lot of water and it takes me a good 1/2 hour to get it all down, but drinking it in a straw helps and also try to keep your mind set on something like being really hot or just having ran 5 miles or something. If you think about how awful it is, you'll have a hard time with it, but it is really good for flushing you out. It usually takes me atleast 1/2 hour to elliminate after drinking it also, so if you work, just plan to get up a bit early and do it right away. By the time you get to work you should be fine and not have to go anymore.

Good luck to all and Happy Easter! I'm in the middle of cooking my family a huge dinner! I cannot believe I'm enjoying cooking! The smells are quite satisfying!

    Happy Easter everyone!

Day 16 for me here! All is going well! Love peanutterb's advice, going day by day! I am getting urges to eat especially when it is stuff I love. Maybe it is time to come off even though my tongue is not pink. I'l just go DAY BY DAY!!!

Question: Does anyone know how many calories we are taking in by drinking 6 lemonades with no adjustments in MS? I am not losing any weight lately. Is that normal? Just curious, I know this fast is not for weight lose. Am wondering if I am doing it right!

    Hi Susan,
My MS says that it is 100 calories for 2 tablespoons.
If you are only drinking 6 lemonades, that means you are only getting 600 calories a day, which might have your body in starvation response and therefore, not allowing you to lose weight???
Are you active at all while you cleanse?
I think the more activity you do the more apt you are to lose weight as well.

    Hope that helps a little.
