    Second Day

Second time now that the laxative tea has done nothing but cause me a little gas and cramping, i took some advice and soaked the bag longer, and it didnt do anything different. Don't know if im going to run into any trouble, the SWF works fine, though... i gag either way when drinking it.

Default Shivers and shakes after lime/maple, cayenne drink

Ok, this is the third time this has happened today:

I am getting extreme shivers, mainly my upper body and hands, within a minute or two of drinking my lime/maple/cayenne drink. I mix 20 ounces all at once, with the recommended 2 tablespoons/2 tablespoons into a 10 ounce container. I love the drink, so much that I drink it when I am off the MC. However, the shivers are making me wonder. These are not just shivers, they are shakes. Any ideas what is going on? I was thinking it might be the complete lack of sugar for most of the day, then 4 tablespoons of maple syrup in a 5 minute period of drinking the fluid.

It may be relevant to say that one of my " off cleanse problems " is sweets, mainly chocolate. Any thoughts on this? I am more concerned about this than anything I have noticed thus far. I did not notice it last MC, which was 21 days, but I don't think my sweets problem was as big before that MC.

    Help is appreciated.

Yeah day 2. You're almost out of the bushes! Once you make it past day 1 you're in it and once you past day 2 you're in it to win it. Breaking down and eating/ cheating after this point can be harmful and painful and is totally not worth it so now you've got to stick to it and do it do it do it!

as long as the swf does its job then that's all that matters.

TallTravel - hmmm the shakes... is it your first lemonade of the day that makes you feel that way? or also subsequent lemoandes? and it really could be all the sugar at once. Or all the cayenne... try experimenting and trying things differently and see if there's a change. I've never experienced that myself so it's tough to say what to do. So do an experiment and see how things change - use less ms, less cayenne, drink slower, follow up with water, try a couple things a couple different ways and see what happens.

On another, yet similar note - feeling cold is normal for many on the cleanse. Including me. I was shivering my ass off at work the other day. The hairs on my arms and legs were standing up.
Some day it's detox. Some say it's because your metabolism has slowed down. I donno what it is, but you just need to bundle up and keep warm.

No, Peanut, I should not have used the word shiver. My hands and arms are literally shaking for 10-15 minutes after the drink. Upper body, head, neck, everything. Normal maple dosage, nothing other than the recipe.

Although I can not imagine what it might be, my intuition tells me it has to do with sugar in the maple, just because it is a lot more than I have gotten over the night and early morning.

it could also be the cayenne. my body reacts to it as well.
like i said, try it different ways and see what happens.

    Morning All!!

Peanutterb...lol, I just may try to stick it out to 14 days. However, I REALLY miss some of my favorite foods...Congrats to everyone doing the MC, especially for the first-timers! We share something in common, and as long as we continue to motivate one another, I'm sure we can/will be successful in completing our target goals. DON'T GIVE UP!!! AND DON'T GIVE IN!!!

Has anyone ever experienced a yellowing of fingernails on this cleanse? I've never had yellow fingernails and today I noticed they were... ever so slightly. I even gave them a thorough cleaning and no change. Am I weird??

I'm on day four. It's been... interesting so far. It hasn't been terribly difficult, but it hasn't been easy peasy either. Hardest part is working at a call center where people love to eat around me. Today is a spaghetti dinner with lots of goodies, but it's not really bothering me as much as it would've two days ago. Day two was the hardest yet. A lot of people are telling me that I'm crazy and think that I'm dumb. they all feel like I'm being unhealthy and that I'm starving myself. It's hard to try to convince people that I'm not doing this for the sole purpose of losing weight. They all just say that I'm on my way of always starving myself. I do have many supporters as well, which are helping me get on with the days. Sometimes I wonder if I'm a little nutso myself, but as time goes by I feel really good about what I'm doing. I know that I'm in for something to change how I eat, feel, and live each day. I'm looking forward to "starting over" but am a little afraid that I will go back to my old ways. I hope not! Anyway... I'm half way through day four and with the grace of God and the help of some wonderful friends, I'm still hanging on! For all of those looking to start... good luck. It gets easier every day, so rest assured that you will not starve and in the end it's all worth it!

    hello everyone:
I am a newbie just want to introduce myself. I just started day 1. I am excited about this and what I like about this website most is the support. I wont feel alone in this and nowing that someone knows what I am about to go through is comforting.

Thanks for the kind words peanutterb It's strange how people tend to get so caught up with food on the cleanse, whether it's cooking, watching the food channel or reading food blogs (my personal favourite)!

Anyway, I am rather worried in terms of food etc. Just got a phone call from friend who asked me again to go out dinner tonight - this is like the third time so couldn't put it off... But I made my excuses, trying to save on money, will grab something over here first etc. but she is going to INSIST (she even insisted that she would pay for me at this lovely restuarant!)... baaaaaaaaah!! I don't know how to handle this, I bet she's going to think something is wrong. boohoo.
