futrdoc, I believe I've read that you can take the drink hot or cold, whichever you prefer. And adding the lemon AFTER you heat the water I believe is the ideal way to do it. I'm on day 5, LOVE the drink COLD and have not had any cravings yet, am feeling better than I ever have in my life and am looking forward to day 10! Of course, I have to go through Day 7 first which I've read could be not such a good day! KEEP IT UP! YOU'RE DOING GREAT!

Plenty of elimination of all sorts, so let's see what tomorrow is like.

    Hi TallTravel,

Sorry if I misunderstood. The part that says "No lemon/maple/cayenne yesterday but I drank them all day today" is what I thought meant that you did not drink any lemon, maple, or cayenne on day 1 of your cleanse but only started drinking them on day 2 of your cleanse. If that were true, your day 1 was a cleanse but not the MC, and your day 2 would have been the actual day 1 of the MC. I made no reference to or mention of any previous cleanse you have done, since only the current cleanse was mentioned in your post.

If I misunderstood....What did you mean?

    Hi all!

I just started day 1 and I did a day 0 laxative tea. A little concerned seeing as from the tea I did not have one BM. Just ended up farting alot and some cramps. In fact, I now CANT go and i can usually go once or twice a day.

I just woke up and have to head to physical therapy and when i get back i will do the SWF and it will go from there.

    Hope everyone is doing well...
    keep it up!

Whenever I try and lie down to rest, my nose stuffs up and I can't breathe. So I'm up and still sneezing. The pollen count here in VA is high, but I'm tired! And things were going so well! Are these symptoms amplified because of my being on the MC?

I've found that adding more cayenne really clears up my nasal passages and sinuses. My guess is that the MC will probably help your body eliminate the effects of pollen faster than if you were not on the MC. Allergy medicines just suppress the symptoms, not the actual effects.

This is important for me cus I absolutely hate my job. But I'm going to smile til my cheeks hurt.

*Question* that anyone can answer - do I have to drink the tea on an empty stomach as I do the swf?
I'd love to hear what you all think. I've got reasons for and against...

    Hugs to you peanutterb -

Sorry to hear that you hate your job. Here's an exercise that has worked well for me in the past. When I hated my job, I concluded that I was in that yucky place in space/time because there was some lesson to be learned. It might be my lesson, or it might be a lesson for those around me for whom I was supposed to be a catalyst. So I made my mantra, "How can I serve?" with the idea being to elevate myself to my highest potential in every way that I dealt with all the negative people and things around me. What happened the first time is that the negative people left the job and I got a promotion. The second time, the negative person left, my boss complimented me on how well I handled the situation and gave me an employee of the month gift certificate to a nice restaurant. The third time, the job stayed the same, but I got a job offer with a raise from the place I'm with now. The old job called be and begged me to stay on their payroll as a sub or "on-call" person during busy times. So, I'm a firm believer in the "how can I serve?" method.

I love your attitude - smile 'til it hurts!

My 2 cents about the tea...I don't think your stomach has to be empty of EVERYTHING (water, peppermint tea) but should be empty of the lemonade....Because I have been prompted just by the SMELL of the senna tea to have a BM, before I even drink it, I think it starts to work right away. Therefore, I think it's a good idea to have finished the last lemonade at least 20 minutes, and 40 are better to let the lemonade digest. (I pick 20 - 40 minutes based on the findings of Dr. Doris Rapp, who has done a lot of work in the field of food allergy reactions...specifically, how many minutes after eating, the first allergic reactions are observed due to sufficient digestion to get the allergens in one's blood stream.) Even though the peppermint tea does have medicinal value, I consider it a "comfort" item on the cleanse, not essential, so I don't think it matters if you counter-affect it with the senna tea.

Hi! I'm a newbie to postings but have done the cleanse once before. I lost 8 pounds in 8 days. I did not reach my goal so I am trying to pick up from where i left off to get the final 8 pounds off. I do have one question, if anyone can help. Coffee!!! That is the ONE thing I cannot live without. I tried and got migraines enough to miss a day of work. What effect does having one cup of coffee, with a dash of skim milk and one sweet n' low have on this diet? I'm on day one today and having a very bad time! help me, please.....

Kydoula-You have come too far to let a trip ruin your mental well-being. You are going through detox right now and if you quit you will not get past it. Give it time and I assure you there will be mental clarity. Take it a day at a time and don't decide today when you will quit. Excuses are what got us all icky feeling in the first place, so don't become a victim! You are awesome and your family will love your attitude when you are done! And you can definitely substitute the SWF with the tea, but I know for me it only takes the SWF about 45 min. to work and not sure how long it would take the tea? Good luck and I hope to see you past Friday!

Peanutterb: This is a good question....I personally wait at least 30 min-1hr after my last lemonade to drink my tea but I usually guzzle a water maybe 20 minutes before the tea because I seem to wake up dehydrated in the mornings. I can tell by the color of my urine. I know I am getting enough water during the day since I usually get in about 110-120 oz of spring water with the other stuff. I would assume it is okay to drink before hand since it does take a while for the tea to work, but not afterward because that is when the tea is doing the deed! So in a nutshell, I don't personally see a reason either way, but I definitely do have a mental game going and wait a few minutes myself. I don't really know if this helps, I think I just beat around the bush!

I am on my first day too. I was wondering why the salt water made me almost instantly vomit? I am mostly meat and dairy free. I eat well and am physically in good shape... any answers?

Not worth the time to go back and explain all of it. I am busy researching and reading how to make this the best fast ever. So far, everything is perfect! I even noticed a big problem which has been bugging me for months! My big toe has been hurting. No kidding, it hurts so bad sometimes at night and while I am walking I couldn't stand it. Not a bone, not a nail, it seemed like something in the tissue within the toe. So today when I woke up the pain was completely gone! I was elated, and I still am. I may never know what caused it, months it started, but at this point I don't care. This is only 72 hours in to the fast, so who knows what new and welcome changes are coming my way? I can't wait!

    kydoula:

I can certainly understand your rationale for wanting to change the time frame. I read your post, and hope you will simply agree to keep an open mind about all the changes you are experiencing. I am not standing in your shoes, but it seems like you might gain from agreeing to take one day at a time. How does that sound? Good luck. Whatever you decide is right for you.
