    Sierramagic,

I love anything and everything spicy. I have to say the SWF doesn't bother me either. I thought it might, but just this morning I had to wonder if I even put the salt in it! I don't know, it might just be my body taking anything it can get! I can say I don't crave the SWF, but as for the cayenne I do put more than 1/10 in my drinks. Not much more, but around 1/8 or 1/6 per cup. Hope this helps!

I am a newbie and I am on Day 9. I had quite a few cravings over the past days, but didn't give in to any. I do have one question. I am preparing to make my soup, and purchased some organic vegetable broth from the store. Has anyone else done this? I know the Burroughs book say powder, but I figured the organic broth would be okay.

Day one for me today. I did not eat after dinner last night, then had a SWF this morning and only water today. Tomorrow I will switch to maple/lemon/water during the day. No issues so far, no hunger today at all. I drank a fair bit of water, but I really never felt hungry. A touch of a headache a couple of times, but I just drowned it when it came on.

Went to yoga tonight, and all the breathing practice probably did me a world of good with the first day of the fast.

No elimination after my first ever SWF, but I certainly felt the urge within a few hours of the SWF. Lots of dairy and meat, for my standards, since my last fast (21 days MC), so maybe that is why I did not eliminate after the SWF.

    I feel good.

well you've been busy SierraMagic! I love it!

As for the lax tea/ addiction issue, there's no real worry of it on the MC, perhaps bc of the swf and the way it works, your body is def using it's natural peristalsis to get stuff out - where as the problem with the tea is that your body may become dependant on it to push stuff out.

There's a segment on it in the General Help for Newbies thread:

    Lax Teas

    4. Is senna herb potentially harmful?

Q: Someone told me that senna is potentially harmful because the intestines will no longer function normally after some time. (I am happy to report that mine are still functioning properly after a 21-day Master Cleanse.)

A: I've frequently heard people question the use of senna for the Master Cleanse. Even the tea boxes contain cautions. However, in the more than 600 people I've coached, I don't know of anyone who's actually not resumed normal (or better) bowel movements after the cleanse. Although sometimes it takes two or three days before the first bowel movement after the cleanse, but I believe this is due to the lack of any bulk being eaten and the thoroughness of the cleanse.

I've completed over 48 days of fasting total and have more normal BMs now than I've ever had pre-cleanses.

Hi! I am on day 1.
I have a few questions that I could not find the answers too. Can anyone help?

    1. How do I start a new thread?

    2. My goal of the cleanse is to get rid of intense sugar cravings/ sugar addiction. I am also trying to increase my energy, as I am always exhausted.
I am only 6 lbs away from my goal weight. I do not want to lose more than 6 lbs. How can I do the full 10 day cleanse without losing more than 6 lbs?

    3. I am a personal trainer, and train others daily with weights, as well as train with weights myself and do cardio. I am worried about muscle loss due to this diet. Does anyone have any info on how not to lose muscle while continuing the cleanse?

    4. It is my first day of the cleanse, and so far my only symptoms are mild head ache, and I feel very hot. Also, I am exhausted. Last night I started with Smooth Move, and started cramping about 4 in the am. I am a little hesitant to take the SWF in the am, as I have to run around taking my kids to school. Can I have the SWF later in the morning, or does it have to be first thing on an empty stomach?

Thank you so much for helping a Newbie with her first cleanse

    Hello ALL!!!

I am proud to report that this meat lover is on Day #3 of the MC, and I am feeling GRRRRRRREAT!! No cravings, no cheating, nothing but the lemonade!. And, this morning when I got up, I weighed in at 170 lbs. Who-hoo! When I started, I weighed in at 174. Have had some serious BMs though...mostly liquid, but this morning's was semi-solid. I'm confused by this. I did an internal parasite cleanse just before I did the MC, and thought I was pretty "cleaned out". Hard to believe that lemonade is doing this by getting rid of more stuff. Now I'm curious as to what else resides deeper in my colon. Question...isn't a parasite cleanse supposed to thoroughly clean one out, especially if you do it for 60 days?

    Thanks, BJM,

You just blew my theory all to hell ...but saved me a lot of work. That's why I wanted the survey before I put any energy into research!

    Congrats TallTravel and FutrDoc!
I'm really proud of you guys!

I donno about a parasite cleanse but what I've recently learned is that the intestines are one of the first organs formed by the fetus so we've been collecting stuff for quite some time.

TallTravel, I'm so impressed with you doing a one day water fast (I contemplated it until about 1 when I got hungry lol) and for switching to the SWF when it's so new and unknown to you.
    Keep it up.
Sometimes it may take a day or two for stuff to come out after the swf. esp for meat eaters. soak your tea longer tonight and add more salt to your swf tomorrow.

Choppy, you don't need a new thread, we'll answer all your questions here. That's what this thread is all about.

    1. if you don't want to lose more weight increase your maple syrup. But remember you do have a few pounds leeway because you will gain back a few when you return to regular eating.

    2. as for weight lifting, there are many threads about it. have a read through and see what others have suggested. I personally believe that one should take it easy on the weights while cleansing. Do less weight and more reps instead of more weight. You don't want to tax your muscles or your body too much. Also make sure you take extra ms before and after work outs and drink lots of water throughout that entire day.

    3. the swf has to be done first thing on an empty stomach. you can take your kids around and then take it but you can't have anything before taking it or it may not work. If you can't do the swf in the morning, just do the tea.

Have you read the General Help for Newbies thread? It's the best resource for newbies and also tells you how to do a search so you can help yourself.

How's being positive going for everyone?
I stumbled once or twice, bc my website is down yet again and this is hindering my job search. I may have called the guy who owns the hosting company a few names. Maybe. No one was around so no one can prove it.

    Hi ASC,

Few people seem to know how to make soup from scratch these days. I posted a basic vegie soup recipe on the thread that got lost. Here it is again:

Take a big soup pot, fill it with water, set heat to boil. Put a lid on it.
Add herbal seasonings first: most important seasoning (in my opinion) 1 - 2 bay (laurel) leaves. (Can be found in spice section, but cheaper in Mexican food section of grocery store). Add any other herbs or seasonings you like (cayenne !) but only a little salt (like 1/2 tsp). It's easy to overdo salt, and you can't take it out once you've put too much in. After the soup is done, you can add a little more salt to taste.

When the water starts to boil, turn it down to simmer, so it keeps up a slow boil. Keep cover on.
Start adding vegies: hard ones first:
Onion, garlic, carrots, parsnips (love em!), celery, potatoes, cauliflower, brocoli, bell peppers (all colors), yellow squash, zuchini, peas, pea pods, mushrooms, okra (I add this last). whatever you like...I like to add water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, little corn cobs....tried brussel sprouts last time - they need to be halved.

When the hard vegetables are soft enough to pierce with a fork, the soup is done. It should take around 2 hours from the time you start to boil the water. Check it at 1 1/2. Salt to taste. I like to use "spike" seasoned salt.

If you want to get a head start on broth, you can save and freeze the water from steaming vegetables. Every time you steam some vegies, just take the colored water and add it to the frozen homemade broth. Then when you start your soup, just plop the frozen broth starter in the pot, cover with water, and keep going as normal. The broth is thicker and richer that way. But it's still good, just the way I posted above, just thinner - which may be better when coming off the cleanse anyway.
