    Default Diary of a 10-day cleanse…

    Hello all,

This will be my first cleanse. I bought Peter's book and have been reading this and all the other bulletin boards and I believe I am mentally ready. Â*I have no illusions that this will be easy but after reading many of your posts I see it ain't impossible, either.

I only hope that I have some of the wonderful results I've seen posted here. What I'm hoping for is the mental clarity and high energy. Losing some weight will be nice, too, but that is not my main goal.

I am female, 50 years old, 5'4'' and 162 lbs. I am sure my excess weight makes me feel sluggish, and although my diet is not terrible, I believe I need to be more active - a lot more active! I'm hoping this cleanse will jump start my energy level so that I feel like being more active. I have a sit-down job and spend my evenings in front of the TV or computer. On the weekends I am wiped out and sleep late.

I have been watching my weight these past few weeks and have lost a few pounds, but I need something more drastic - a wake-up call, if you will. I did Atkins for a while and then South Beach more recently, but I know I eat way too much red meat. My cholesterol is high (242).

I also have some skin problems (eczema and occasional acne) that have flared up recently. Not sure why - I started including more vinegar in my diet to help my stomach work harder so that higher glycemic foods don't get stored as fat so quickly, but I don't know if the vinegar is causing the extra itchiness.

Anyway, I plan to post during my entire cleanse. I plan to do the ten days for sure, but may even go longer if I can, especially if I feel the energy increase.

I went out and got all of the ingredients except for the lemons - I'm still trying to find organic lemons if I can. As Peter says, I'll start Wed evening with the Smooth Move tea and will do the SWF the next morning. I got the Light Grey Celtic Sea Salt as Peter suggested. I plan to work on Thursday, Day One, but I am planning on working from home on Friday, Day Two, as I understand that is generally a bad day!!

Let me know if you are starting this week! Maybe we can do it together? Â*

Well, I bought my Paul Newman organic lemons today - who knew that Paul was also into the organic fruit business? So now I have everything I need:

    Organic lemons
    Grade B organic maple syrup
    Organic ground Cayenne pepper
    Light grey Celtic Sea Salt
2 boxes of Smooth Move tea (one chocolate flavor and one regular)
    Purified water

As I stare at this small pile on my kitchen counter, it is hard to believe that this will be my entire nutritional intake for 10 whole days!

But I am ready! And in less than 48 hours I will begin with my first ever cup of Smooth Move!

I hope some of you will join me! As I said, I plan to post every day to keep you aware of my progress (and it will be good therapy for me as well).

Good luck, Blue! You will be two days ahead of me!! I hope you'll post on this topic as you go along! We can compare notes!

peanutterb, I'm counting on it going by faster than I expected!!

How do you add the Smileys to your post? I've tried clicking on them, clicking and dragging, copy and paste, etc. What's the secret if I want to add one of those Smileys at the end of this sentence...

    Hello YellowGirl!

I will do a cleanse with you and start on March 23rd as well!

It's not my first one, and I am sure it won't be my last one.

I like to do it more for cleansing purposes, than weightloss.

You will get results, and you will get energy, if you can incorporate some type of exercise into it, that would be ideal. Even if it's something little like walking around the neighborhood.

As for your skin problems, they may get worse before they get better, because when your body starts detoxifying, it may be through your pores, and affect your skin. But, it if it does it is only temporary, and it is different for everybody.

So when you say you're starting Thursday the 23rd, does that mean Thursday evening you will start the laxative tea, and have your first day of the cleanse be Friday?

    Hey YellowGirl,

Good Luck!!! I will be following your progress, all the way. I know you will be thrilled with yourself after 10 or more days. You are on a fabulous journey. Maybe soon, I will try this fast. I did a juice fast for 8 days and it was wonderful.
    Be strong and good luck.

    Hi debbiehaxton,

Glad to hear that you'll be joining me!!

I will be starting the laxative tea on Wed night, March 22, so Thursday, March 23 will be Day One, right?

I'll go to work Thursday (but I'll be getting up several hours earlier to allow time for the SWF and the aftermath of that).

Friday I will work from home, as I understand that days 2 and 3 can be rough. I will have to detox from caffeine as I'm a tea drinker, so I'm prepared for at least the withdrawal headache.

Tonight I had my "last supper" at my in-laws and tomorrow I plan to eat lightly.

How many days do you plan to do, debbie, and how many times have you done the cleanse?

    Hello YellowGirlsAunt!!

I am definitely your niece, following in your fasting footsteps (and sharing your addiction to Sudoku).

I am ready to start! I ate a little more than I should have tonight (at the in-laws) and I'm now having my last glass of red wine for a while.

I plan to dust off the MBTs and start some walking as debbiehaxton suggested. She has done this same fast before. Â*

    Talk to you soon!!
