    Hi All,

I started yesterday, and i have a horrible headache... but hopefully tomorrow it will have passed. I am stocked up and ready to go for at least 10 days, but hopefully i can make it 14. This is my 2nd cleanse this year and i hope to get better results than i did the last time.

    So good luck to everyone!

I'm a full time mother, student and employee of an Insurance company and because of my schedule, I've ate fast food everyday for the past 6 weeks! I'm 158 lbs and I'm 5'6. I feel completely unhealthy and I want to make some changes.

I'm starting this fast today. (I haven't bought the ingredients yet though) I have some questions though...

    1. I'm currently sipping the detox tea. Is it more beneficial to "chuge" it rather than "sip" it?

    2. Has anyone ever done a fast with just water? How did that work out?

    3. What is your best advice to a newbie that works nine hour days, goes to school until 10:00 at night and has a three year old son?

I'm going to attempt this until October 13th.

    Please help.

Some of the things that helped the last time I did a 7 day fast was to have the house stocked with what I was going to make for my son. Of course this makes it hard to not be tempted but the flip side is that everything is there to prepare. I also make time to rest. Get some new videos and some coloring paper, paints whatever and have activities that you can direct the little one towards so you don't have to think about it.
It sounds like you're pretty busy though and that you aren't home much so, maybe you don't have to worry about that. Just get up early enough to do the SWF.
drinking a tablespoon of black strap in the afternoon helps fill my tummy when I'm hungry and have low energy.
drinking mint tea, ginger tea and having liquid chloryphill helps me.
On another board a woman recommends Goji berry juice.

I just had my first glass of lemonade, and I think I put too much pepper in...my mouth is burning! I'm definitely gonna have to put way less in the next glass.

Welcome Malenka, you can do this! stay focused. drink alot of lemonade, keep your MS at the recommended 2 tbs in the beginning to ward off hunger and read the General Help for Newbies thread.

Kmac, you're on the right track babe. Keep squeezing.

Chic, Happy belated birthday. I don't have any kids but I've read of many people with young ones doing the cleanse just fine. Your schedule will benefit you in one way, you'll be too busy to think about food too much and you will sleep so much better.
Make your lemonade in an empty gallon water bottle in the morning and take it with you. Don't lessen the MS until day 4 or 5 when you feel like you have a hang of things. Also, make sure your lemonade tastes good. Adjust the water and syrup until you have a formula that's delicious to you. Seeing that this is all you'll be drinking for the next few days it's best to enjoy it. Add your cayenne pepper to each glass - never put it in the bottle you make ahead or it'll get super hot by the time you're ready to drink it.
Wake up 2 hrs earlier to do your swf or do the tea in the morning but be sure you're close to the bathroom because it hits at random times.
Always have bottled water on hand. It's a good idea to alternate a glass of lemonade with a glass of water.
Drink your night time glass of lax tea on the way home if you can or as soon as you get home so you won't fall asleep and forget.
All this info and more is covered in the General Help for Newbies thread.

What "detox tea" is this you're sipping? Is this the Yogi brand? Because this isn't recommended on the MC. The only tea you can have is peppermint. And sipping or chugging tea, water, lemonaded, swf is really all up to your preference.
I've read of many people doing water fasts. My bf did one too. It really does wear you out, but you do hit that point of euphoria after a while. This cleanse is easier to me because the MS keeps you from feeling weak and hungry so it's easier to go on with your regular life.

    Welcome back SIGURDSSON
I hope you make it to day 10 too. It'll really help with your weight and more importantly your depression. The secret is to have a positive attitude and tell yourself that you will not fail. Whenever you feel like cheating or quitting just say, nope, i can do this. i am strong. failure is not an option. That's why I always say that step #1 is get your mind right because if you think you're going to fail, then you will. But if you tell yourself that there is no way in God's green earth that you're going to let some stupid craving for a stupid burger make you mess up doing this awesomely good thing for your body, then you won't.

That was good advice you gave Chic except the ginger tea, and Goji berry juice and liquid chlorophyll aren't recommended. The ginger tea maybe can pass, but not the chlorophyll or the berry juice because they cause your body to digest which is the last thing you want. You can get chlorophyll from the mint tea as Burroughs suggests. As bayareababe always says, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Nothing should be added or taken away from the cleanse. Do it as written and you'll get the wonderful results thousands of people have.

Nubiess I fast from alcohol, tv, cellphone, im, music, sex, cursing, anything that I feel is taking too much of an importance in my life. I've been like this for years and it really helps me appreciate things. Sometimes for a week or a month I'd just do no TV or whatever it is and it's an awesome feeling to not care after a few days and to lose that attachment. Maybe now is a good time to fast from tv for you as well. Especially since there are so many food commercials!

Carefree if you can't handle the swf just do as much as you can or just do the tea in the morning.
The swf lasts for about 2 hours. it's pretty regular so try it out and see then you can judge how best to schedule your time after the swf. if you're nervous when you're leaving the house, wear a pantyliner or a pad (if you're a lady), you will know when it's time to go but that's just in case of leaks.
I don't know whether the dizziness and such is the meds bc I don't know anything about those meds but i wouldn't worry too much. Increase your MS if you need to or drink your lemonade more often. And drink lots of water. You should be fine.
Horrible is as horrible as you make it. Sometimes it's just a crabby mood. Sometimes it's feeling tired. sometimes it's cravings. sometimes it's aches and pains. it's different for everyone. and really "horrible" is really relative to the great days. so don't stress it.

Kenny, alternating the swf and the a.m. lax tea is a good idea. The swf is better but the tea does the job too. so if you can do the swf, do it when you can.
Add the cayenne to taste. Start with a pinch and then work your way up. Initially it burned my mouth but now I actually don't like the taste of the lemonade without it. Try making it different ways until you find what you like.

Yaya, the salt water isn't for everyone. it might be too much salt for your body. if you want to try it again, try drinking it warm and sipping instead of chugging. if it doesn't work out for you, just do the tea in the morning. Chic The swf is different for everyone. Just try it first and see.

Hi Sandra2122, headaches are normal. there are a bunch of natural remedies in the General Help for Newbies thread.

I just made another glass, and I'm really having problems with the taste. Did anyone else not like it the first day? I put very little cayenne pepper in this time, and It was still horrible. I even tasted some without the pepper, and didnt like it. Will the taste get better as the days go on?

    Agave nectar is low on the glycemic index which makes it perfect for diabetics. Here's a short blurb about it;

    "Functional Properties

Agave Nectar is the natural caloric sweetener with the lowest glycemic index. Under medical control it can be used by diabetic people (Type II, non-insulin dependant).
Due to its perfect sugars relation along with oligo-organics (characteristic of the Agave plant), Agave Nectar mixed with citric juices might be considered as a natural laxative, relieving constipation problems.
The Agave Nectar oligo-organic contents help the well functioning of gall bladder, helping to saponification of fats. Its oligo-organic contents also work against the blocking of arteries and veins due to high cholesterol levels.
Agave Nectar enhances flavors, keeping the perfect flavor for a longer period of time.

True, either increase or decrease the maple or cayenne. Keep the lemon juice at 2 Tablespoons.

What exactly don't you like? The Maple? You can try Agave Nectar, or Molasses and use Limes too, they taste great as a change.

Keep us posted on how you're doing.
