I lost 10lbs in 3 days. I did not think that was possible. Can someone explain the reason?

hi!
The cleanse is amazing in so many ways, the liquid, the eliminations and the flushing out and breaking down of things:
1. the majority of the weight you lose in the first couple days is water weight. We can carry up God knows how many pounds of water weight and once you stop eating and/or increase your water intake, you will drop it. Unfortunately, when you get back to eating, the weight, at least some of it will return. Especially if you don't watch what you eat.
I allow for up to 5lbs of water weight regain after a 10 day cleanse. Some have more, some have less, I just don't want to feel depressed over 5 lbs that show on the scale but don't even show on my body. That scale can be a trickster.![]()
2. A lot of the weight you lose on the cleanse is waste - that's why the swf is so awesome. Have you ever felt Lighter after having a BM? I think it's cus you really are lighter. I read somewhere that you can lose up to 15 lbs of waste on a fast.
3. The cleanse also breaks down fat and toxins and wastes from your body and your cells (some have experienced less cellulite after a MC) but this takes time. I never really see the results until later in my cleanse but this is weight I always keep off which leads me to believe it's neither waste nor water - it was fat and good riddence to fat!![]()
4. Breaking the cleanse correctly is super important because this can make or break you. Breaking incorrectly - eating too soon or eating the wrong things too soon can no only cause you gas, constripation, and other pain, but it can also cause you to put on weight quickly because your metabolism is so slow and your body is hording fat because it's nervous you might "starve" again. (Starve is in quotes because your body goes into starvation mode during fasting but isn't really starving because you have the lemonade to sustain you).
Anyway, how are you otherwise? I take it you're on day 3?

I'm fine otherwise. I'm on day 4 now and I only need to loose 10 more lbs. So i'm thinking I will do this for 7 days total. As far as gaining weight back, I may but I don't eat bad, nor a lot to begin with. Plus with my workout routine, I should be fine.
By the way what does BM, SWF and BC stand for?
BM - bowel movements
SWF - salt water flush
BC - birth control? before christ? i don't remember saying BC to tell the truth.
MC = master cleanse
MS = maple syrup
I do want to encourage you to go the full 10 days as Burroughs recommends. Day 7 can be a heavy detox day and it's never a good idea to end a cleanse during heavy detox because your system is all askew.
Also, it takes 4 to 7 days for your body to adjust to cleansing and not eating and really start breaking stuff down and those earlier days are the hardest, so you're putting yourself thru the trenches without walking thru it to the happier, healthier better part.
Either way, what's 3 more days? It can only benefit you to go a little longer.
Also, this cleanse isn't a quick fix weight loss diet. How you eat/live after makes the biggest difference.
Best wishes to you.

You are right what is 3 more days. When you say heavy detox, you mean the body starts to really dilute itself? Does the SWF cause reguritation on the 1st day?
I really didn't look at as just a weight loss, but if it works hey Im not complaining. My eating habits have always been pretty good. Say I lose a total of 20lbs. Should I expect to gain back 5 at the 1st intake of solid food?
hope this helps. I def think you should go the full day 10 days. all you can lose is weight, waste and bad health.Originally Posted by genem3

the books say you usually gain back half of what you lost. IF you are gettting ill on the SWF try celtic grey sea salt.Originally Posted by genem3

MC4 started 1/3/07 - 28 days! done for now
what a trip
if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
*Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply*
With MC1 (10 days), I lost 10 pounds. I then gained back about 4 pounds and stayed there for three weeks. However, then I went on vacation and gained back all the rest!
So when I started MC2, I weighed exactly the same as when starting MC1. However, when I measured myself, I was anywhere from .5 to 1.5 inches smaller everywhere I measured.
So even though the weight came back, the size (read: fat) didn't! And that matters a lot more.
Now, after MC2, I'm 5 pounds lower than after MC1. Haven't measured yet, but according to my Tanita scale my fat percentage has gone down another 1%. I'm aiming to keep off the fat loss and at least 10 pounds of the weight this time around. No vacation to get me off track this time!

Ok I got it. Ten days. Seeing that i don't drink, smoke nor eat bad as it is, I should be fine with the minimal weight gain. A couple of years ago I had to take steriods, that really put a lot of weight on me, and I dont think I was able to full recover. Do you think that strong medicine remained in my body, since I never really clean Myself completely until now?
While on this I know this is a crazy question, but what will alcohol do if you drink during MC
hey genem, I ate well too, I'm vegan, but still, none of us are immune. It takes alot to lose weight. It's easier to gain than it is to lose.
I think meds are probably in your system too. it takes time. so the cleanse will definitely help.
The basic answer to your alcohol question is no alcohol. nothing else can be added to the cleanse. if it's not MS, lemon juice/ lime juice, water, lax tea or peppermint tea, it's not allowed.
I'll let bayareababe answer the alcohol question, lol, she's our resident alcohol specialist. (though she doesn't like being called that to her face lol)
