some alternatives are: raw, unfiltered, uncooked/un heated honey (harvested locally if possible), agave nectar or stevia (liquid is preferrable)

    Sorry, but no.

Honey is absolutely not a part of the Master Cleanse. In fact, Burroughs doesn't believe in consuming honey at any time.

Stevia (in any form) is also not acceptable.

The only sweeteners allowed on the MC are maple syrup, agave nectar, molasses, fresh sugar cane juice, or sorghum.

Please, as this thread is all about, do not change the ingredients of the cleanse. Every one has a reason and a benefit, and the formula has withstood the test of time.

Then it won't be the MC, it's will be your detox, you can use less Maple but for you to use none, you may want to research detox programs that has no Maple in them, hope this helps.

I have a friend that stated she was also going on the MC last year, BUT was changing a few things, I had to laugh, I said to her well then you are not going on the MC, what is this with changing it, I also stated that if she had the answers then she could and can write her own detox tried and followed detox program.
Go figure, I follow the MC, I have Stanleys book, on Curezone and other MC support groups, it works for me and I am and will continue to work it..................

Does anyone else use Oxypowder instead of the Lax tea? I actually like the results better.

Oxypowder didn't even exist when the MC was made.

I'm just wondering because I do. I get massive cramps with senna tea even if I only steep it for 2 minutes.

It's a colon clenase product that basically liquifies EVERYTHING in your colon and pushes it out. Sounds like a laxative but it's different. Look at oxypowder.com if you're interested. Not as cheap as senna tea though.

Stanley Burroughs says, "Extra water may be taken as desired." This appears in the "How much does one drink?" section. Personally, I generally do NOT desire any extra water.
When I read this site, however, it is suggested/recommended that we drink a glass of water between each lemonade, and the goal is to drink half your body weight in ounces. My question is, what is the basis for all of the water drinking? This is not in Stanley Burroughs' book.
