Hi lafsalot,
I'm sorry to hear that you had trouble with your blood pressure and edema. ----I want to make it clear that I cannot diagnose, treat, prescribe, nor cure as I am not a licensed health care provider. Even if I were, however, I wouldn't attempt to do those things without your complete medical history, a physical, and any recent tests.
- Fasting is well documented in medical literature for lowering blood pressure. So, if it's is not coming down while on the Master Cleanse (a modified juice fast), I suggest your review the book you have (whether mine or Burroughs') to verify that you are doing the Master Cleanse correctly by the book.
- You are the person that is ultimately responsible for your health even though you may seek advice or treatment from licensed health care providers. If your blood pressure is becoming dangerously high or your edema suggests a major health risk, you should seriously consider consulting your licensed health care provider, whether MD, chiropractor, nutritionist, acupuncturist, or doctor of naturopathy. Only you can decide whether that is necessary at this point.
I hope this helps,
Peter
