Hello, everyone. One of my main reasons for doing the MC this time is to lose weight. Last time I didn't expect weight loss, but after 13 days found out I'd lost 12 pounds. I expect about the same this time, but hope to continue on past 13 days.
I'm 55 years old and weighed 231 pounds as of yesterday, when I started. This morning I was down to 229 pounds already. I'm 5'8" tall.
Backtracking a bit . . . when I did my first MC two years ago I lost 12 lbs, then continued to lose weight until I was 202 lbs. Then I re-developed some bad eating habits despite being vegetarian, and went back up to 235, which has been about normal for me for the last ten years. This time when I get off the MC I want to go on a raw food diet. I just ordered two books to get me started. I think this is the only way I'll ever be able to lose weight.
Weight loss has been difficult for me because I have hypothyroid disorder and hypertension. Last time I did the MC I was still taking Atenolol for the hypertension, which I later discovered makes weight loss very difficult. I've changed meds now, and hope to overcome this problem. I was thin (145 lbs) until I was 38, then two late-in-life pregnancies and the development of the two diseases changed everything.
Well, I'm going to be here a while, so thought I'd stop by and say hello on the weight loss thread.

) You could well detox hard if your diet has been terrible and you drink a lot. Your body will have a lot of toxins to clear out. Just be aware that if you keep cheating you're not really doing the master cleanse, plus you're continuing to make your body work on digestion and adding more stuff for your body to process out, so the detox could continue to be bad. I know it's really hard not to cheat sometimes, but it's really worth it! If you're finding the MC to be too hard, maybe you want to try a slower form of detox first—eating raw for a week, doing a juice fast instead, something like that. Good luck.
