Thread: Weight Loss on MC

    Just beee,

Just for the record: Even craving apples isn't true "hunger", but just more detox because you hadn't yet made it through the first three days. When you get to that stage again, just drink more lemonade and go to bed.

But sure you can eat all raw and drink lemonade with it. As you say, it won't be a cleanse, but anything you can do to help get your mind prepared for a true cleanse will be for the better! Much more than half the challenge on the MC is mental, not physical. Now that you know what to expect, it's best not to start the MC again until you're truly committed to stick out the full minimum 10 days.

So give yourself some time and experiment a bit with cleaning up your diet, and then come back to reap the full benefits of the MC!

Thank you for that! This helps a lot. I'm glad to hear about the blueberries at Costco- the price can't be beat usually. Would you have time to tell me how to make "red dragon crackers"? I still need to get a vita mix mixer and a dehydrator. I keep losing the bids in ebay on Vita Mix 3600's!! There going fast and for lots of $$. I can't wait to start eating this way, but without proper equipment, I'm afraid I'll burn out on salads. I haven't given up- I'll keep looking! Thank you again <3

The recipe is in the Raw Food Lifestyle forum. Do an advanced search for "dragon" in posts by Sim and you'll find it.

You don't need a Vitamix for the crackers, but unfortunately you do need a dehydrator. Maybe that's what you should bid on first?

Or, if you're handy, you could make one. DH and I made mine over 30 years ago for about $50 and it's still going strong. It isn't as fancy as the new ones, but it's a lot larger and it works just fine. The book "Dry It, You'll Like It" with the instructions, by Gen McManiman, is still available (do an online search--probably at Amazon.com).

    Happy eating!

    Hey trichic:

In case you check back in here-- I thought I'd mention that lots of folks have been able to work out while on the cleanse, including myself. I never did a triathlon, but I ran, swam, and did other forms of exercise including yoga. The most important thing to do is to listen to your body-- as you probably know already if you've been training. You might even find that you enjoy working out all the more while on the cleanse! Default Weight loss

    Hi,
I'm on day 9 of my first MC. I did this mostly for the promise of speedy weight loss for a last minute carribean getaway.I generally eat pretty healthy and appeciated the cleansing/detox the program offers as well.
I did not get on the scale but my clothes don't seem to be much looser. I don't feel as if I lost much weight. I have about 20 pounds to lose.
I don't see many people talking about weight loss. Maybe that is secondary for most people. But it's very important to me.
I am also 3-4 days overdue for my monthy menstrual cycle.
I was considering doing another ten days but I leave the 11th for Mexico and don't want to break my fast on Cervasas and empanadas and get sick.
Can anyone offer me some insight?
    Thanks!

tchew: some people lose a lot of weight on the cleanse, while others lose only a small amount. Some people lose minimal weight during the 10 days, but lose more in the post-cleanse phase. The fact that you are waiting for your period means you are probably retaining some water, and once your period starts, you will lose it and thus lose weight. I would recommend that you end your MC 5-7 days before your trip so you have the time to break the fast properly. Good luck!

It'd be kind of cool for those who are considering MC as a weight loss diet (primary) as well as a cleansing and healthy start (secondary).

But then if no one wants to, then this will be one of those threads that Peter will have to delete. :P

    Cheers!
    I'm on Day 1 201lbs, 5'4 3/4" Size 14/16.

I've done the cleanse successfully in the past and lost 30 lbs in under 30days and within 6 months gained it all back. It was difficult to comprehend that i'd lost the weight and it was me who looked and felt soooo great!! I got down to a size 10. I then began a new business and the weigt came bacl. This time to be different!!

Hi candycane, keep it up, you can do it again!!!
I'm on my first MC, and I absolutely love it! I put on some weight when I moved back to Denver because I was so busy with work that I stopped working out for about a year, not to mention the happy hour beers and food that I was eating.
I am on day 11, and I have lost 16 pounds since I started.
I'm just over half way to my 21 day goal, which will be no problem because I feel great, and love the MC program. I'm also back in the gym, and plan on getting back to my very healthy diet following the breaking fast as I ease back to normal diet.
Although I'm not doing this for weight loss, it is a huge benefit and I love it! I also mentioned in a previous post that I tend to exceed the cayenne in my lemonade because I love spicy foods, and the cayenne makes my drinks taste great. I still don't know if this has anything to do with the weight loss, but I'm sticking with lots and lots of cayenne.
Good luck with your next MC!!
