Thread: Weight Loss on MC

Rawson,

I have never had a problem with hair loss. I'm currently on day 16 of my third MC, and so far have only had the usual detox symptoms.
When I did my first MC I did it for 20 days, needed to loose a lot of pounds. After 20 days I lost only about 10 pounds (and many inches everywhere!) but I didn't get discouraged and became a very relaxed vegetarian (I eat mostly vegetarian but if I feel like meat, chicken, or fish I eat it). I kept on loosing weight, never regained any of the lost pounds during the MC.
I also bought a great book called "Eat to live" (by Joel Fuhrman and Mehmet C. Oz ) and learned a lot about eating right and not living on a diet forever.

How often do you do the Master Cleanse?

About every 3 months.
MC1 - July 2006
MC2 - October 2006
MC3 - January 2007

Once I finish my current MC (whenever my tongue turns back to pink) I plan to do it every 4 months, that puts my next MC sometime in May.
It's funny but after a few months I feel the need to do the MC again, I miss the feeling of not having solid food in my body.

Hi everyone...My best friend & I are going to start the MC this wekend. My concern is the weight loss. Never have I had to worry about weight until this last year. I actually remember when I had to drink Ensure to gain weight. I do know that it is a fact that your metabolism really slows down as you age, but I have put on about 20 lbs & can't stand it. I believe my age has something to do with it as I am almost 58. Everyone says I should be thankful that I had all those years without ever having to worry about gaining, but I am just not happy now. Could someone please tell me if my expectations of losing weight on the MC is too much for me personally? Seems everyone I have read about on here is so much younger. Thank for any help you can give me...Kathie

Red face Re: Weight Loss on MC

Wow! How exciting! I haven't started yet. Just ordered my Maple Syrup online and got the books last week. This is HUGE for me. I am trying to mentally prepare for this. I have the full support of my fiance, now I just need to keep it to myself around the other members of my family. They live in Allopathville and will say things like, "That is not healthy, blah.. blah.. blah..."

I wish the weather would break. It is around 2 degrees farenheit here in Ohio and I want to pitch a tent in the backyard for a "Safe Place." Does that sound ridiculous? I am just afraid that my fiance's cooking or smoking or the other household member... I have no place of my own to escape. It would be nice to have a place to just consider the "Safe Zone." Where I can escape to meditate and reflect on why I began in the first place. A place without a TV! LOL!

You all make it sound easy - and I am so looking forward to this. I consider it a "death" of sorts. The death of the old habits that are destroying my health. I really need a fresh start and this seems like the way to do it!

Well - I look forward to continuing to read the posts here and to see all the positive results to stay motivated and get even more psyched!

Blessings,
Willow

Well, I made it through day 1! I have had a horrible headache all day! The Celtic Sea Salt was amazing..thx for that advise. I also do the Cayenne "shot" which really works great. I don't believe I would be able to tolorate the hotness otherwise. I have not been able to find any replys to my Feb 5th post about the age & weight. Where would I find replys to posts that I have made? Tomorrow is another day & hopefully the headache goes away....I'm not even any fun to myself with that let alone to anyone else...ha ha Good luck to everyone else with their MC!!

From there click on MY Profile and you will see on the left -all posts OPLZTLK2ME- or something like that directly under it theres only one other option -all posts OPLZTLK2ME started-. Once in the 1st option you will see a list of all your posts click on the actual post and it will bring you to the exact point you posted and you should read on from there not always do es the person right after answer its may be a page or more forward.

Another function is in edit my profile option where you can turn on the option to recieve emails. I put immediately get email. I don't have instructions but you can look maybe you'll find it. I'll try to go over the steps and the write you back in a lil bit. Hopefully this helps.

Post Weight Loss on MC - Preparing to Start

Okay, here goes!

I'm preping for the MC this evening (my 4th) but it will probably be the most challenging b/c I want to stay on until I accomplish 2 things:

First, my tongue turns pink and second, I lose 40 pounds. My longest fast was 19 days and I managed to lose 23 pounds but my tongue never turned pink so part of me feels like a failure or at the very least I did not 'finish the race.'

This time out, I am plagued by numerous aches and pains from an auto accident and the addition of 40 pounds since the incident b/c I could barely walk and maintaining an exercise routine was definitely out of the question.

So fellow lemonheads, I really need your encouragement, feedback, and jokes (yep, keep 'em comin' please) to make it through this time. The promise of improved mobility, decreased pain, and an overall sense of well being awaits, but its a long way to the finish line!

I'll post daily to keep myself accountable and the brigade up-to-date on my progress. BTW, does anyone need/want a buddy?

Let's do this!

hi everyone-

has anyone not lost any weight doing the MC for any length of time? i am on day three and although i haven't actually weighed myself, i am definitely doing the cleanse to the letter and eliminating every day after the SWF and peeing a lot throughout the day. but....i don't look or feel any different from the outside. i know i'm detoxing (got a few pimples in funny places, white tongue, and my breath stinks). however, my clothes seem to fit the same and i am getting a little bit of exercise in. not just laying around all day. thoughts?

---- taken from the general help for newbies thread ----

Weight Loss

Many people use the MC to lose weight. The MC is a fast and while weight loss will come, it should be secondary to losing waste, cleansing and feeling healthy. Many people who have weight loss as their only focus often get discouraged if the weight loss isn't happening quickly or drastically enough and sell themselves short by quitting too soon. The MC is the beginning of a new life for you, sort of like creating a clean slate to start afresh.

Sometimes however your weight loss may be slow. Wait it out, some people don't see results until the very end. Some people need to cleanse for longer to lose weight. The SWF can make you feel bloated but it is the better alternative to the tea. Some people find they see better weight loss results when they alternate the swf and the tea every other day but the swf is better for cleansing and getting rid of toxins and waste.
Having your period can also mask weight loss results.

Make sure you are doing the cleanse as designed, drinking at least 6 lemonades a day, doing the tea and/or swf, do not decrease your maply syrup too more or else it will have the opposite effect and drink lots of water.

It's important to watch your inches instead of pounds only because sometimes the scale can be incorrect. Watch how your clothes are fitting and how you feel instead.

Working out while on the cleanse may or may not help with weight loss. Many people have increased energy, some do not and prefer to rest. They still have weight loss.

What's very important, is life after the cleanse, making sure you eat right, exercise and stay healthy to keep that weight off and keep losing weight. People tend to regain half of what they lose after a cleanse but if you go back to bad eating and eating too much too quickly after a cleanse you can gain back all the weight and more. Many members have used the cleanse as a way to start a new life and relationship with food, eating less and eating healthier and have had great results.
