    formerly_cytrus,

thank you for all that great info on BMI! I think I am more interested in my body fat %. I know there are scales now that measure it. Does anyone have experience w/ those and/or know how accurate they are?

Good question ronicajm, I'm interested in the fat% scales too. I calculated my BMI from the website and I'll tell you, I've been in a size 4/6 and still not been toward the low end of the BMI, even though I looked kind of emaciated. I've always been very active and I have alot of muscle (under a few layers right now!) and sorry, but yes, I'm "big-boned".
And hey chuckles - I can totally relate. There's something going on with me now, that if I don't "eat clean" and work out, I gain weight like crazy. And taking it off has become alot harder (and slower!). Damn!!! I loves me some pizza and ice cream!!! boo hoo!!!

i like to get my body fat checked at the gym. i feel like the little machine they use is more accurate.

so i stepped on a scale today, purely to torture myself since it's been ten days and no change and then voila, i was down three pounds. it's not much. i don't have much to lose i guess. but i was a little worried that i was pregnant for a minute there.

tomorrow is day 11. going 20 days doesn't seem too far at all. i wanted to take my mentee out to dinner before she left town so i was going to end my fast early but i think i'll keep going until whenever i don't feel like doing it anymore. i'll just listen to my body.

It's day 7 of 20 for me! I've decided that I'm going to start working out tonight. I didn't want to start it too early because this being my first MC I wasn't sure how my body would react. All is good so far! I feel great!! Wish me luck!
Hey Rizzle! Looks like we have the same goals and are kind of starting from the same place. Someone else in the high 200's who wants to get to 145 by New Years?! What are the chance of that!

You must be my fasting twin....how nice

What day are you on? and how much have you lost?

I've lost about 10lbs and I'm on day 4....(slipped up and ate a large pasta dish at the end of day 1 but luckily bounced back with minimal setbacks)

    Oh....also I'm 5'8....how tall are you?

I'm so excited about this cleanse....I haven't successfully done one since I first heard about the MC and joined this board 2 years ago......but last night I had a breakthrough moment when I went to dinner at my friends house and just drank water while everyone else wolfed down what I was told was super yummy shrimp alfredo.

Instead of giving in and eating like I've done the other half a million times that I've attempted to fast in the past, this time I just smelled the dish to kill my craving (sense of smell is super keen during fasts)....put my would be portion in some tupperware....and then just stuck it in the freezer when I got home.

My friends and I were shocked at my resolve but I guess that goes to show how committed and serious I am this time. (finally!!!)

In a couple weeks when I'm off the cleanse and fully weened back onto food, I'll pop the shrimp alfredo in the microwave and see what all the fuss was about.

Also Congrats!!!! to everyone who is making it through this weekend...as that is the hardest part of the week for most of us

    Hey Blue,

    I'm on day 9!! Almost half way!! I haven't weighed in a while but on about day 5 or 6 I had lost 10 pounds! I'm 5'5..

I love smelling food too!! Everyone feels bad about eating in front of me, but I tell them to eat on, cuz I love to smell whatever they are eating!

So far this cleanse I have surpassed a lunch meeting at work (Chinese food! YUM), a big cake to congratulate someone at work! Dinner with my family every night, and cocktails with my hubby! Needless to say I've been the designated driver for the past week and a half!

Yesterday was tough. I just felt heavy and tired, but I woke up this morning feeling refreshed and ready to go!! YEA for day 9! I'm in the home stretch!!

    Good luck to everyone!!

Today is day 1 for me! I drank the tea last night and tried to drink the SWF. I drank most of it but the last 6 oz. I just couldn't do it. I was really full also and it took almost an hour to drink that much Maybe tomorrow I will drink the tea and alternate w/SWF. I don't know. When I was reading previous posts about SWF I thought how bad can it be? It is down right nasty!! Oh well tomorrow is another day. I am on my way to make my first glass of lemonade I hope it tastes better than the SWF!!!

I couldn't stand the SWF the first couple of days, but now I've just gotten past that and down it in about 5 minutes. It does make you really full, but I think it is way better than the tea (it has more of an effect). I drink mine warm with a straw and just gulp like 10 times and take a break.. it seams to work. Also try putting it in smaller glasses and drink it that way. That makes it not seem like so much!

    Good luck!

Rizzle thanks for tips! I tried with a straw, but no luck. But I did put in coffee mug and did a cup at a time, and that seemed to help. I just can't stay out of the bathroom, but I guess thats a good thing. I don't feel too bad yet just a little low energy, but not bad I hope tomorrow is not bad!

I have a question about the SWF and retaining water. Does anyone out there think that it has made them retain water weight during their MC? I am not losing much weight and I am really bloated. This is day 8 for me and my clothes are fitting pretty much the same. I have done only water fasts in the past and by day 3 my pants are REALLY loose in the waist.

Also, my eliminations are good after the SWF so I know I'm cleaning out my colon.

    What do you all think?

BTW, my husband ended his early, after day 7 and lost 10lbs! He did not do the SWF, but once, maybe twice.
