    Hey everyone,

Day 1, cleanse 1. Just finished the first swf (wasn't as bad as I thought from reading about them). Am doing the cleanse primarily for weight loss, starting at 218 with a goal weight of about 185. I am 6' and 37 yo, and have let myself go for too long. Looking to use the thread as support and to keep it interesting. Thanks for reading and will update as I go.

    Hi Chris,

    Welcome to the Master Cleanse!

The SWF is simply another learned tolerance. Just as with chilli(es) and herbal tea, you LEARN to deal with it. I remember when I started taking MSM every day - that stuff was BRUTAL I'm telling you! But now it's tasteless. My taste buds have resigned themselves to the fact that I AM taking it at least thrice daily so they kinda got over it!

Do you have any idea how long you would like to cleanse for? A minimum of 10 days or something a bit more ambitions? Or see how you feel.

The only thing about seeing how you feel is that it is better to quit on a good day which ironically is not actually when we feel like quitting! We often feel like quitting on a detox day which is NOT a good time to quit!

I'm around every day for the next month as I'm on day 6 of 40.

    See you around!

    Rawchoc,

I don't have a firm number of days I want to go, although I am thinking maybe 15-20? I don't have a lot of experience with diets, I have done Atkins once with success (although I am back so....)
Day one went pretty well, although the pizza my wife and kids had for dinner was calling a bit I actually like the lemonade, even with the pepper. The SWF was a little harsher this am, but was doable. Its effects were not nearly as bad as yesterday, probably a function of no food in the stomach?? Looking forward to the day, and to my first weighin tomorrow (figure every two days is better for the spirit). Thanks for responding and I will talk to you later.

Today is Day 12 for my MC. I started the Master Cleanse because I wanted to cleanse my body of all the toxic buildup so I could start being an even healthier individual for the rest of my life (this is in addition to recently becoming a Vegan). I am 5'8" and my start weight for the cleanse was 226 lbs. and this morning I weighed in at 215.8 lbs. It's not quite the amount of weight loss I was expecting (I hoped for a little more) but I've been really busy with school and haven't had much time to squeeze in any amount of activity. Well, this semester is almost over and the summer will be here before I know it. I will then have plenty of time to devote to getting into the best possible health and shape! My goal is to complete a 40 Day MC and to get down to 180-190 lbs. After the 40 days I plan to stay on a hybrid juice and fruits diet for several days and then slowly work into eating more solid foods that take a little longer to digest so I don't put much weight back on, HOPEFULLY none at all!

clblevins, Congratulations! I'm on Day 12 too!

Please realize the most you can lose is two pounds a day. Burroughs, the founder of the MC, wrote the purpose of the MC is to:

Dissolve and eliminate toxins and congestion that have formed in any part of the body.
Cleanse the kidneys and the digestive system.
Purify the glands and cells throughout the entire body.
Eliminate all unusable waste and hardened material in the joins and muscles.
Relieve pressure and irritation in the nerves, arteries, and blood vessels.
    Build a healthy blood stream
Keep youth and elasticity regardless of our years.

As you can see the MC is a detoxing internal full body cleanse with one visible benefit. Weight loss.

Weight loss varies between individuals. There are many physical factors that contribute to a successful MC and weight loss. Sometimes our bodies are too toxic to achieve maximum benefits on a few MCs. Diet, exercise, eliminating stress, and adequate rest between MCs will promote the success of each subsequent MC. While cleansing, we must following the MC as written, drinking enough water, getting adequate rest (7-8 hrs. sleep), and exercise to receive the maximum benefits.

You are on the right track! Keep squeezing those lemons

Hello - new to the site and new to the master clense

I'm on day 4 of my first MC.
My scale in the bathroom is right in front of a mirror, and every day of the last 3 days I've stood on it, and then looked directly at my reflection with a face. I can't believe how fast weight is dripping off me. So far I'm down 11 pounds, but I'm not sure how much that was just water weight...

Hello everyone, I'm on my DAY 10 and have almost NO WEIGHT LOSS. What is wrong?? I'm doing everything right, except I'm not doing the salt water flush or the laxative tea... would that be why?
