Hi NVetter,
Congratulations on 31 days!!!!!
There may be similarities; but, I believe everyone's body is different when it comes to the signs to end an extended cleanse, especially when one travels into unknown territory. Hey Extended MCers, please share your experiencesRES Calling on Res, or another moderator.
I've only complete two cleanses over 10 days. My first cleanse was the only one I experienced the signs you allude to. As I approached 40 days, about where you are now, my body became very sensitive to the subtle change in where the organic lemons and limes were grown and the brand of spring water used. Once I switched back, all was copacetic. The closer I reached my goal, the more I became disgusted with the SWF. In the early cleansing days, I was not disgusted. As a matter of fact, I challenged myself to drink it within 5 minutes successfully. Soon I found myself not completing the minimum lemonades each day. Then, I thought about food; but, I can't say that I was hungry. When I reached my goal I couldn't wait to eat the transitional soup. Drinking the two days of OJ was a pleasant change. I gained three pounds after the cleanse and maintained it until I reintroduced breads, cakes, cookies, and scones. My no-nos. It took me 40 days to lose 20 lbs.
During my second extended cleanse (28 day goal reached) I did not experience any signs; as a matter of fact, I could have probably gone 40 days. What I found interesting was that I lost 20 lbs in less time. I believe a 75-80 percent raw food diet may have been a huge factor. I hope my experience gives you something to think about. The only advise I can offer is to listen closely to your body, test the symptoms to be sure they are physiological and not psychologically based. If you can muster the strength press through to your goal, go for it. If not, you can still celebrate an accomplishment by conquering 31 or more days! Use your experience to conquer 40 days on the next cleanse, if it comes to that.

My name is Sandra, and I am doing this cleanse because I know I need to. I'm 27, and a full time student. I just want to get that sparkle back in my eye, and I want to go raw again, but am having difficulty keeping myself under control. I don't want to get out of bed in the morning, and I don't want to take medication to focus. That all being said, I want to just state out there in the ethernet somewhere, that I am starting the MC tomorrow- half started it today, and now that I have been reading the book my friend gave me, I know what to do. I'm excited to fall in love with life again, and have the energy to grab life by the horns, and tell each and every day who is boss! sandra
So here's my update..
It's been about 6 weeks after the cleanse..
I lost 10 lbs during the cleanse, and 4 lbs came back and my weight seems to be very stable now..
I certainly crave more raw/unprocessed foods...
I will be back in May for another cleanse... My hubby will be joining me this time..
Hi I did the cleanse for 10 days and just finished about 3 days ago. I could not believe how good I felt and how well i slept. I actually lost about 15 lbs. on this cleanse which was a bonus. I am going to do the cleanse again later on maybe around July I'm thinking. But I sure do feel so much healthier. I just cannot believe how something so simple can do so much. Sure am glad that I found this website for encouragement. It helped me alot. you are an awesome bunch. Keep up the good work.
LIsah-
If you are still on your MC I recommend that you may want to switch to the actual cayenne pepper and avoid those liquid capsules. It sounds like htey are really hard on the stomach lining, especially without food I'd imagine. Stick with the way it is done in the book as it is a lot milder. Hope that helps!
Update to my update yesterday: Over night somehow I lost three poundswhich puts me at 29.4lbs lost and very close to my prediction and goal of 30lbs for the 28 day cleanse. I am now in the 160's for the first time in a long time and very motivated to eat right post cleanse to maintain this weight loss. Best wishes all and happy cleansing!
Way to go, lemonyfresh! That fraction of a pound is meaningless; you totally got to your 30lb goal
I have lost 5 lbs so far (it's day 5) and I am hoping for 10 lbs. I will be content with 8 (okay, only sort of content) but 10 is my goal.
Good luck to you all!
I am on my last day (Day 12) and started at 187 pounds. Today I am at 169. I am trying to get back down to 130. I am 5'7" and gave birth to my two babies pretty much back to back. My youngest will be one year next month so I feel it is time for me to loose this extra "baby" weight I have been carrying around. I feel really good and now I am about to go off of the MC tomorrow and hope to stick to healthy eating since I am no longer craving deep fried crunchy foods or sweets. We will see what happens!
Congrats Cindy!! That's awesome!!
