Hi Sweetmumnz,
I am so excited for you. This is also my first MC and I am on my 7th day. It is amazing! Decide to keep a good attitude. If you need to talk or let off a little frustration, talk to your friends here. I decided when I started not to complain to my kids or husband or say anything negative about the fast. I have gone out of my way to cook for them and allow their life to be normal. I am doing this MC for me and I am reaping and will continue to reap great benefits - I don't think our families should have to suffer their way through our MC. It is amazing when you choose to have energy that you need and keep that lemonade flowing...it all works out. Take a day at a time and count down how many you have successfully done rather than how many there are to go.
I'm rambling. I meant just to send a little note that tells you are making a great choice, you can do this, and I'll be praying for you!

to sweetmum!
Welcome!I am excited for you and I am with you as I have been a comfort eater. I gained about 7 lbs in the month of December and that is why I decided that I need to do something quick as my eatting begin getting out of control. I started today on the MC.
In July 2007 I completed 10-days of MC and lost about 12-lbs, so I do know that this is workable.
I look forward to getting to know you as we all work through this together. This is my first time on the bulletin board as I thought this would help me in being committed to at least 10-days. Thanks for sharing as you are helping me.

To jo girl and res...
Thank you for your wonderful welcome. It is 4:25pm on my first day and I am feeling pretty good. I am a little hungry though. I have already had 1 litre of the drink (sorry.. I am from New Zealand and we dont do 'oz' here... whenever it is writen I have to go to a site to convert it! 1 litre is half of the lemonade.) I completed the lax tea last night and it worked with ease... I was afraid of how strong it would be but it wasnt bad. No tummy cramps at all so far. I didnt do the SWF this morning but will do it first thing this morning.
I took the kids to McDonalds today and the each had a happy meal with Juice. I took my juice and it was great. I have noticed today just how often my 11 month old shares her food with me though... I never noticed this before. She keeps trying to feed me crackers etc and I have to say 'no thank you honey'... Im guessing that previously I have always just said Thank you.
I have also made a vow not to comment or complain to my family/husband about the MC. I am going to avoid talking about it altogether. I think thay my biggest downfall will be cooking them dinner. I hope that I have the willpower to not pop something in my mouth... or even worse, do it without thinking because I am distracted for a moment. I am only on Day 1 but have found that I have had to stop myself from taking a subconscious bite of the kids food three times today. I mistakenly licked my finger with tomato sauce on it.. I didnt even think... omg... that tasted great! Must remember NOT to do that again!
I hope that everyone else is having a great day today!
- sweetmum

MC1: Day 1
SWF: No
Tea: Yes
Weight: Havent weighed myself yet!
Feeling: Hungry but still positive.
No one is "automatic" on the first day or 3 of the cleanse. You'll see how we take "bites and licks" for granted. You'll be amazed at your normal life of popping into your mouth whatever you want to without realizing you're actually eating.
It takes many of us at least 4 days to become "conditioned" to not take a bite of something. But it doesn't stop there - you're going to read about people "dreaming that they're eating" and then waking up in relief that they didn't blow it.lol
Please give yourself the chance to prove to yourself that you CAN DO THIS for 10 days. That's 10 out of 365. Piece of cake (no pun intended).
Just you wait until Day 10. It's a whole new world when you reach your goal. You'll see...

I have enjoyed reading the comments here again from all you committed people as I prepare to start the MC next week (when we return home from being away on holiday). Thanks for the tips and encouragement again.
Sweetmum - you go girl! I stuck it out for 10 days in Dec 2006. The sense of achievement was HUGE! I lost 6 kilos (I'm an aussie so can't do the conversions to lbs!) and felt the most energetic and CLEAN I've ever felt. Unfortunately I did the cleanse just before Christmas - wanting to look good for a family gathering. So of course all that foooood at Christmas and until after New Years was hard to resist. But I was amazed at how long I kept those kilos off. I just wish I'd kept doing the cleanse whenever possible.
This time I'm going to stick at it for longer - or at least do the cleanse then lemonade and light eating for another 10 days and cleanse again etc... until I reach my desired weight. I turn 40 this yearand really really want to start healthier living!
Today is Day 9 for me and I haven't lost any weight at all! I have lost a couple of inches from my waist and hips, but I find the stubborness of my pounds to be extremely frustrating! I am 5'5" and weigh about 164. My goal weight is 140 (I'm very muscle dense). There is a definite spare tire around my middle that I had hoped to eliminate with this diet! Oh well, my headaches assure me that I have detoxed a good bit anyway!
Hello everyone! Day #6 of 14 on Cleanse #1 here and doing great! I feel great, but just a little tired today. I slept like a rock last night, but dreamt that I broke the cleanse by eating a piece of cake.AHH! I was just mad at my fiancee because he broke it (for real and in the dream).
But anyway, having a great day! I have lost 8.9 lbs so far and look forward to dropping more! The first 7lbs was lost on the first two days...weird!
You all have a great day and don't listen to those nasty fiancees that say that the lemonade makes them "nauseated"! LOLOL![]()
Hello people
This is day 2 for me. I almost broke down last night but I resisted it. It was a battle i tell you! Good thing DH pepped me up a bit![]()
