Thread: Weight Loss on MC

I originally started two days ago, but I broke down and ate around 10 at night when my willpower just gave out. Then I tried again the next day... same thing.

I found this site, though, and found my morale really boosted. So I'm back on "Day One", but I started three days ago at 216 pounds, and I still managed to lose three pounds even with the nightly binge.

Hopefully I haven't screwed up my metabolism for the rest of the cleanse and can drop a little more - not thinking I'll keep it off permanently, but maybe just to kind of jumpstart my way of thinking about weight loss the healthy way and not some kind of crazy low-carb fad thing again (after three years on low-carb I actually became a vegetarian because I got so sick of meat - lol.)

Day 2, and even though I technically lost around 2.5 pounds doing the cleanse half-assed on Saturday and Sunday, I still lost another pound and a half from yesterday.

So I'm feeling pretty good. I'm not thinking I'll have a miraculous weight-drop (like 20-30 pounds), but I'm shooting for about 10-15.

Since I'm already a vegetarian, I figure I'll ease off of the cleanse by going vegan for another week, and working out regularly to try to keep the weight off.

    Inch Loss:
    Bust: 2 (from 44.25 - 42.25)
    Waist: 1.5 (from 37 - 35.5)
    Hips: 2 (from 47.75 - 45.75)

Day 4, and I've already gone down 5.5 pounds (and 5.5 inches - weird), so I'm feeling pretty good. There was a screw-up with the SWF the other day, which caused me to retain a lot of water, so I think my body is just getting over that. I've still decided to lower my maple syrup to 8 tablespoons per 60 oz of water, though. How low is it recommended to go if you want to lose weight?

I did a 10 day cleanse back in June and immediately went on a calorie/fat/carb counting diet afterward and it has worked wonders for me. I started keeping track of what I ate and set up an easy exercise program on SparkPeople. The changes I've made (especially in gauging portion sizes) have helped immensely.

I just started my 2nd cleanse today.

Smile Re: Weight Loss on MC

    Hi Fellow Master Cleansers,

I have more than 100 lbs. to lose. I lost 50 using other methods and have done the MC off and on for the past couple of years. I am planning a series of cleanses and diet changing to get to my goal of 125 from my original 255.

There seems to be so many different threads and info. and I would like a very "FOCUSSED" support group on accomplishing this life changing task.

So. I would like to put a healthy plan to do this and get support and give support and celebrate our victory.

Asking anyone who has done this or knows of anyone who has what is the best way to accomplish this, safely, in a healthy way with maintaining the results.

Anyone also needing to rid 100 lbs. or more who is in a positive frame of mind and committed to accomplishing this, I would be happy to have you on my team!

Thanks in advance for any advice and foresight!!!

I think that a big key to it is coming off the MC slowly, and not just jumping back into the favorite foods. One of the things Beyonce said was that she immediately regained the weight because she was all about donuts and chicken.

    Hello Healthy125lbs:

I am new here, this is my first post and I would like to join your journey. I topped the scale at 301lbs last week and was horrified. I read a life-changing book called "Skinny Bitch" (if you can get past the cursing, its quite the informative book) and they recommend a cleanse. I've been a vegetarian (no chicken, red meat or fish) for about 20 years and since reading that book, I've given up dairy and have lost 6 lbs. I'm a scientist and I'm going off to study in the rainforest in August 2008 for 10 months, and I *must* be in good health because the nearest hospital will be 7 hours away. I bought a book called "Detox" from Amazon but since hearing about the Master Cleanse, I've bought the book and CD. I've done my own research on every aspect of this cleanse and I'm convinced that it is the best thing for my life right now. Unfortunately, I have to wait until we get paid in a couple days to start my fast.

I don't plan on seeing this fast as a diet. I want to utilize it to clear the toxins from my body in order to begin a new lifestyle as a healthy vegan. I'm tired of diets; I just want a healthy way of living and eating that I can sustain and the book I mentioned above tells you exactly how to do that. I am 10000% committed to taking the weight off; I want to weigh 139lbs or a size 8/10, whichever comes first. I would *love* to do a 21 day fast starting this Friday, November 2. It would be just the push I need to get me going on a healthier way of living.

So basically, I'm with you. Let's do this!

    Hi Ladies and Gents:

I'm so proud of you for making a decision to get healthy and detox.

You mentioned losing 100 lbs and currently we have a thread where you can encourage one another if you'd like. It's called "100 pounds to lose! Join me?"
