It has been really important to me to try to balance working out with the MC--I think working out is important to help keep the metabolism going but definitely at lower intensities. On my last MC I ran and did Spinning throughout the cleanse--I don't know how I did it because this time my heart rate seems to shoot up just when climbing a set of stairs. There must be other things going on.
Kudos to you Stephanie! I have been following your posts throughout your cleanse and you are doing an amazing job-very inspirational to all of us.
Well I thought of myself as the weakest willed person in the world. I hit a low these past few months and the cleanse really became the turning point in my life. Things are still progressing but much quicker now since I have mental clarity with this cleanse. I really am grateful that I can be an inspiration to anyone. Thank you!

I too feel breathless at times, especially when exercising or walking up inclines. In the beginning of the cleanse, I also felt shortness of breath in the shower (something to do with the steam...?), but not anymore. My lack of sleep may be an explanation for this.

Since this is the weight loss thread, I shall report my loss. I hadn't lost anything last week at all, but this week I dropped 3 pounds for a grand total of 10 pounds exactly over a period of 21 days.

The BodyBugg is a very expensive ($250-$300) contraption that supposedly measures how many calories you burn up to 95% accuracy. Here is how it works from www.bodybugg.com :

    The Physiological Sensors

Here is a list of the sensors in the bodybugg™ followed by a short description of how they contribute to energy expenditure estimation.

    1. Accelerometer - The accelerometer in bodybugg™ is a two-axis micro-electro-mechanical sensor (MEMS) device that measures motion. This motion can be mapped to forces (g-force) exerted on the body. By taking gravity and motion into account along with the other sensor data, the wearer's body context and true level of physical exertion can be accurately predicted.
    2. Heat Flux - The bodybugg™ also contains a proprietary heat flux sensor located on the side that measures the amount of heat being dissipated by the body via a thermally resistant material. In short, this sensor measure how much heat the wearer's body is giving off. Heat flux is an important parameter because the body tends to heat up the faster it burns calories.
    3. Galvanic Skin Response - Better known as GSR, this sensor is comprised of two "hypo-allergenic" stainless steel electrodes on the back of the armband that measure skin conductivity. Skin conductivity is how much an electrical current can pass between two points on the surface of the skin and is affected by sweat due to physical exertion as well as emotional stimuli such as psychological stress.
    4. Skin Temperature - Skin temperature is measured by using a highly accurate thermistor-based sensor located on the back of the bodybugg™. Looking at continuous measurement of skin temperature in conjunction with data collected from the other sensors can reveal the body's core temperature trends which are affected by the level of a person's physical exertion or lack thereof.

I might consider getting one, since the Polar HRM I want to get is around $150 anyway. I plan on working out plenty after I end MC #1. Good luck to you!

Day 15-down 24 pounds so far.
Have been very tired (not enough sleep)
Also had a hard time the past few days getting in the minimum 6 LA's, which I know will slow weight loss. My tummy has been funny and I'm not digging the LA at all. I hope it will pass!

I am ending my MC #1 on Day 29. I am down from 128.5 to 117 = 11.5 pounds. I am tired and beat, not because of the cleanse but because of school. I plan on exercising regularly and will hopefully get down to my goal of 105 in time. This cleanse has brought numerous health benefits to my life - this was the fresh start I desperately needed. Good luck to you all.

Hi! I am on MC day 1 and was thrilled to find this website/forum for support. I am 5'7 and am starting at 167--I am doing the MC for detox and weight loss. It is a challenge at home because I have three children and have to still prepare food for them. I will keep you all posted on how it goes--right now I feel great, not hungry at all and very committed!

lots of luck to you southernbelle.

I am 5'3 - I started at 174 (and had already lost 10 lbs on my own) and ended my 10 day MC at 162.

Today was my first day off the cleanse and I aspired to orange juice all day long, but had to attend a 3 year old bday party = I ate 5 watermelon balls and 2 tiny bites of cake - I was so proud of how I was able to control myself and just did juice for the rest of hte day

you can do this. I found it easy to resist my daughters dinner - the closest I got was with maccaroni and cheese.. I actually put the fork up to my nose, took a long deep inhale and thought.. I know what this tastes like so I don't need to eat it now.

You'll see ... you'll lose your desire to eat food... you'll be satisfied.

    Good Luck on your MC

southernbelle: Hang in there! The first 2-3 days are the most difficult to resist food, and you can get the worst detox symptoms, esp from processed food/sugar and caffeine! Stay strong; we are all here for you!

psstt: Congrats on successfully completing your cleanse and making it through the birthday party without gobbling everything in sight! Doesn't the OJ taste so good?? I don't think I can ever drink OJ out of a bottle or carton again, having enjoyed fresh squeezed OJ so much on my post-MC phase.
