In Boroughs' book, he said that people trying to lose weight should drink 6 glasses (not 1/2 your body weight in ounces like Peter suggests). I didn't realize this and have been drinking 8-9 glasses of this stuff, even though I only use one tbsp of syrup. These last few days I am going to drink less and will let you know what happens. Don't know how long I am going to stay on this though cause I have bad detox symptoms, but am aiming for 15-20 days. My only fear is that the weight will come back. I am not vegetarian or vegan, but will try my best to eat raw as much as possible and lay low on the meat.
    Good luck to you!!
i thought he said 1/2 your body weight in pure water in addition to your lemonade

    hi guys,

i'm new to this board, but i thought i'd post to tell you about my experience with the MC.

i've just finished my 10 day cleanse, and i've lost 15 pounds. i started at 120 and ended at 105. the "trick" for me was to start to build my aerobic workout throughout the cleanse. so the 1st 2 days, i walked, then built up to running. if you can't run, try walking uphill. i also used 1lb weights during the day, moving my arms over my head as much as possible (this gives you extra cardio benefits).

i used only 1 tablespoon of the maple syrup, but a lot of cayenne pepper. and i drank as much water as i could.

in the morning, i couldn't do the SW, so i drank green tea. i know technically you're not supposed to drink anything with caffeine, but green tea also raises your lipid metabolism (i.e., your resting metabolism). it worked wonders. if you decide to drink green tea, makes sure it's loose leaf and organic.

because of my health problems, i couldn't stop taking supplements per doctor's orders. i think this helped with the weight loss, since the 1st time i did this i took no supplements and lost no weight. these supplements are high quality and focus on cellular health (like omega-3, alpha lipoic acid, DMAE, and co-q 10)

at night i drank the senna tea ...

i'm really pleased with the results, and feel great. i still feel cleansed and full of energy. i'll probably do another fast in 60 days. i'll try a 21 day fast.

anyway, i wish all of you a wonderful cleanse!

Hey guys, I'm new to this. I have fasted a few times before, usually not longer than 7 days or so, but this is my first master cleanse. I am 5'7'', and currently weigh about 175, I am like 28% body fat, right under the obese point. I work out pretty regularly, and I was just wondering if anyone knew of any reason why I should not continue to work out as hard as I normally do. I have seen varied opinions on here, I see that most people recommend working out, but is weight training a bad idea? I have some events coming up that I need to be lighter and stronger for, so any advice would help.

I also had a question about the mayple syrup, I have a water bottle that will hold 5 glasses of the lemonade mixture, but I only put 1 tablespoon of syrup in it, to save calories. I read that I could use less of it if I was trying to lose weight, but is there a minimum I need in order for the cleanse to work? I am on day one, so I can adjust if I need to, if anyone could let me know I would appreciate it.

    Hi Swinker,

Exercise is fine with this. Some people I've spoken with find that they vary their routine according to how they feel that day. If you're feeling like you can only walk for an hour, listen to your body!

I lifted weights every day (utilizing different muscle groups) and did yoga and pilates. This really helped, and I noticed a radical change in my body.

The key for me was just making sure that I was sweating to release toxins as well as through bm.

For the maple syrup, I think that you should at least have 1 tbsp of MS per every serving of lemonade drink. The MS carries essential vitamins and nutrients for your cleanse.

    Hope this helps! Good luck!

Yes, it helps very much. Thank you. I had been putting like one tablespoon of MS for every 4 or 5 servings of lemonade, I will go ahead and up my dosage. Thanks for the advice on working out too, I'm glad to hear that someone else was weight training. I'm on day two, and I found every excuse in the world to quit yesterday, but I'm going to stick with it. Good luck to the rest of you.

Day 1 of the Master Cleanse. Started Weight Watchers in January at 248 lbs. Now down to (between) 199 and 205, depending, but stuck on a plateau. I figured, I'd try the cleanse for about 20 days, and then try to go to all raw foods after that. My ultimate goal weight is 140.

    Wish me luck!!!

Congrats to you!!! Did you use regular lemon (as opposed to organic lemon) at all during your 10 days? Let me know. Also, how many glasses of the lemonade did you drink each day? I'm on day 2 and so far so good....

Question Re: Weight Loss on MC

Hey everyone... I'm 5'0 & was 126lbs (had a baby... before I got pregnant I weighed 98lbs) when I started. I'm on day 8 (WooHoo!! ) I really wanted to lose double what I lost, but I'm still glad I lost 7pounds . I would love to do it longer than 10 days... but I'm going on a cruise for 5 days, does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? Is there anyway I can take a 5 day break & start up again when I get home? I would hate to miss all the great food on the cruise (even though I will e watching calories). Any input would be appreciated. Thanks alot!
