After the MC, do you think it would NOT be wise to drink a health shake (like Arbonne’s fiber shake) with soy milk instead of orange juice? If not, what about within the next day or so?

this is soooo helpful!!!! thank you soo much!
On Tuesday, after 31 days, I broke my first MC. I have been very reluctant to move to solid foods just yet -- after only 3 days. I have been on solely OJ & just last night I had a small amount of broth. I'm figuring since this is my first fast that I should be extra cautious when breaking it. But, how cautious?
Tomorrow's day 4 off the MC. I've felt fine with the OJ. Regular BMs, energy is sustained (with a physically laborious job at that), and no spikes in hunger.
I'm planning on a 75% raw food diet without any meat or dairy. I have done the cleanse strictly by the burroughs book. The breaking of the fast seems just like another chapter of the cleanse -- limbo some would say. I dropped 25lbs on the MC, and now I'm losing more & more but I am gaining back some ability that I lost on the cleanse (i.e. the execution of syntax). At any rate, I don't want to rush into anything or make any sudden moves at this point, I just would like to hear from those who have done the longer MCs -- in the month-long ballpark -- and how they came off the MC.
And, I'm camping this weekend, so I'd like to prepare tomorrow as much as I can for it.
Cheers.
jonakerman - sounds like you're doing great. the experts say do 1 dday of breeaking for every 4 days of fasting so 31 days means 7-8 days. i broke my fast last fri with oj and later fruits and have been raw all week but am having much discomfort, the first time ever. So just be sure you stick with mostly juices, fruits and veggies. try to avoid nuts for a bit, which i worry may be part of my problem, as they are more difficult to digest.
when i broke my 20 day fast last yr i did 7 days of 90% raw, with one non raw meal a day of soup and that went very well forr me. donno what's going on this time, tho i'm sure it's stress related too. anyway, best wishes to you post cleanse. check out the articles for breaking a fast and life thereafter.

What a great tread!!!
I want to keep the benefits of the cleanse going and this was exactly what I needed to figure out how to work that into my lifestyle.
Your time and advice is truly appreciated.

This is very helpful. Me and my fiance have already done the Master cleanser two times last year and we're in the process of preparing for another (We have to get rid of the food in the fridge and pantry first, so my fiance says). I'm curious on what are your thoughts on drinking an organic fasting tea while on the fast?Originally Posted by Res
I posted in two places with no answers. Maybe you can help me Kira. If I break my ten days with steamed vegetables blended in the steamer broth would that be sufficient as soup? Also, has ANYONE ever mentioned a reduction in cellulite with this cleanse? Cellulite being toxins trapped in the skin/fat network of our bodies, it seems it would most definitely moblize some of that. Also, I read somewhere that your metabolism slows down on this fast but we are drinking calories in the form of maple syrup and digesting, doesn't that fact, that we are ingesting calories keep the metabolism working? If not, how do I BOOST my metabolism after the fast? Any help here would be more than appreciated. Thank you so much.
May you be filled with LOVING KINDNESS
May you be WELL
May you be PEACEFUL and AT EASE
MAY YOU BE HAPPY

As for metabolism, it does slow down during the MC, but if you drink the amount of lemonade, I don't think that your body goes into 'starvation mode'. Unless you do this MC for a reallyreallyreally long time, would your basal metabolic rate slow down. Once stopping the MC, I think one should slowly build up one's metabolism by gradually increasing the calories/day, while exercising and especially adding some strength exercises to build muscle, since a pound of muscle burns more calories than a pound of fat, and helps prevent joint disease and osteoporosis.
