    Default raw food diet

Can someone explain to me what a raw food diet is? Is it like vegetarian or do people really only eat nuts, berries, and fruits for every meal? someone mentioned something about making raw brownies though - how's that possible??? I'm confused, do you eat regular meals or does having some nuts, an apple, an orange and some blueberries equal a meal or something? Do you not cook on the stove? Alcohol is out i suppose?

A raw food diet is just that. you do not cook anything. you are not just limited to salads and fruit and nuts, but you can actually make lots of things.

You can make california rolls, stuffed peppers, different soups, lots of dips, wraps with leafy greens and much more. I'm a picky eater and I've enjoyed some of the recipes. (I have the book "Raw Food Made Easy" by Jennifer Cornbleet.)

I'm not completely raw. About 75% raw. My daily menu goes like this. I have a green smoothie in the morning, for snack I'll have a piece of fruit or veggies, for lunch I do a large salad with all sorts of veggies, nuts, sometimes cheese (that's not raw) and some taste high fiber crackers (not raw either), another snack of nuts and raisins and for dinner I'll have pasta, rice, veggies, sometimes some chicken, some combination. If I have a subway veggie delight for lunch, I'll try to eat more raw at dinner.

After my first cleanse, I ate this way and continued to lose 3 more lbs (total 13lbs) and have kept it off. I'm on my 2nd cleanse now and will go back to eating this way when I'm done. I won't lie, I've indulged in chocolate chip cookies every once in awhile, and some other not so good things. When I have a REALLY bad day, I do a SWF the next morning (I save the SWF for when its REALLY BAD). On not so bad days, I'll just work out more or have the lemonade for my snacks and maybe lunch the next day.

    Hope this helps.

^ Great info on raw eating! I want to do more of it when I am finished with my MC1. I am going to have to check out the book! Thanks E!

Does that book you mention have fairly simple recipes? I'm not going to lie, I'm lazy when it comes to cooking/prepping meals. Probably why I ended up carrying extra weight to begin with. I am intrigued though, if it's got some easy ones I may have to go pick it up this weekend.

Actually, some are and some aren't. What is cool about the book is that it tells you what equipment you'll need for each recipe, in the beginning of the book it gives you a produce shopping list for 1 person and tells you what you should have as staples in your cupboard. It also gives sample menus for each meal. If you get a chance to thumb through it you can see what there is. I got mine at my local grocery store's health food/organic section.
