Default Want to start - Scared to start

My first cleanse (over a year ago) was 8 days, and I loved it. Yet I've been scared to start again ever since.

I had planned to do one in January. Didn't do it. I bought a bunch of lemons that went bad in my fridge. Now I have more lemons in my fridge. It seems there's always something.

Tomorrow I have to drive about a 3 hour round trip to pick up my kids. This week and next we are reviewing and then testing (I homeschool). I am afraid I will get really sick for a day or two and don't feel I can afford it. Yet I can't afford to keep eating so poorly either. I know I need a cleanse.

My biggy is my caffiene addiction. I am so afraid of that awful headache. Another thing is that I am on an anti-depressant (Wellbutrin). I've been on it for years now, on and off -- off during the cleanse over a year ago. I can't decide whether or not to wean myself first of the medication, or continue to take it during the cleanse. I can't talk to my Dr., because I know he will have a problem with the fast itself, and talk to me about eating in moderation. I've been trying to eat what's good for me, but I think I need the fast to break the food cravings.

Any suggestions or encouragement -- at all?

Dear Deb; there are always plenty of excuses not to start the cleanse I 've been putting it off for 3 months and finally started yesterday and I feel great , honestly. be determined and you will love it if you make a rock solid decsion to just do it . If you slowly go off the caffine the MC will kill your craving for it, try OJ instead it will give you A lift. As for the depression do not use the meds unless you feel you absolutly have to ,you know how you feel better than anyone. Most drugs are addictive weather mildly or strongly addictive and some times they can become just another habit. I know my asthma medication did me that way and by the way the MC was instrumental is curing MY asthma I was on medication for 12 years. god bless you

Thanks for all the encouragement, and suggestion to begin today --

I have decided to begin Monday, July 3 for a variety of reasons. Between now and then I can wean off caffiene (at least mostly) and detox by cutting junk and drinking lots of water.

I (think) I am going to stay on meds during the cleanse. Every single time I go off, our home and family fall apart no matter how determined I am to not let it.

Deb, I hear ya! I must be scared of something because I can't seem to commit to this MC either. I have been starting tomorrow for the last several months. I am fed up....going to try again tomorrow. Maybe we can give each other encouragement. I just have a general junk food addiction. I am always on the go.....a frustrated teacher(Administration sucks).......a frustrated mom of a 20 year old freeloader....checkbook constantly in the red......need I say more........I guess I am an emotional eater, truly addicted.

Hi Deb, good luck with the pre cleanse detox. Am so pleased that you have decided to do the MC and are planning so throughly for it, that really really is fantastic ;D
With regards to the meds, there are posts on here from folk who continue their meds through the MC and still have a really sucessful time, and I'm sure you will too. And no falling to bits family and home, we want you all in one beautiful piece, ok !

Hi Anita, you have made what could be one of the best decisions of your life to start the MC, I promise When I did my first MC, the one thing I was not expecting was the emotional lightening that went with it - hhhhmmmm I think you've just inspired a new thread

    best of luck Deb,
My advice would just be try to not to guess "what could happen or what could be" -- if it happens or when something comes up during the cleanse- then deal with it at that time (of course unless you have some serious health issues you need to clear with your doctor-) Best of luck- I would say Go for it.
