I never thought it would feel so good to see that there are others out there fasting!
godiva34, day 2 was bad for me both times (I'm on day 3 of my 2nd fast), and I've had everything--pain, dizziness, lethargic, sleepy. I do think the lightheadedness is a detox symptom, because it passed the last time. This time the pain isn't quite as bad, either--I cut my coffee consumption to 1/2 after the last.
Do you have allergies? I think that's one of my issues in detoxing.

    This one is to Peter.

I notice that you say that you have never heard of the aches persisting for longer than a day or two. That can now change! I started having SEVERE aches on day 2 (it felt like I had just played a football game the day before) I am on day 7 and still have aches...not nearly as bad as they started, but still there.

I'm not worried about it, but find it to be unique from what I have read on here and in the book.

Question Re: Detox Symptoms: Don't hate em. They're Milestones

    Hi,

I'm on day six, and I'm wondering what's up. I feel fine. I never felt bad. I haven't had any detox symptoms other then canckers in my mouth that hurt. The first day I was a little tired, but after that everything's been fine. I mean I'm having watery stools that are roughly the same colour as the maple lemonade I'm drinking. But that's it. My skin has stayed the same, I'm not really hungry, and when I am I drink more juice, and it goes away. I have actually enjoyed not eating, and think that I will keep fasting for 2 weeks instead of just 10 days, and when that's over, if I still feel great, why not keep going? I haven't really had cravings, except for cigarettes, and one day I really wanted a saltine cracker. But where is my bile, black poop, burning feces, oily skin, smelly whatever. My tongue is white, but it's always been kinda white, so I'm looking forward to the colour changes. But I mean, I don't eat like some vegan, raw food, militant you know. I eat a healthfully balanced omnivorous cooked diet. And a few days before the clense I ate a bunch of junk I don't normally have as a last hurrah! I am doing the clense because I've been struggling with thyroid issues, and weightloss issues, and I have never been regular, and it has had me worried, so I thought I would reset the clock. But I'm wondering if anything is happening. I was sure there would be scads of evil funk swirling out of me, but nothing! I mean shouldn't six days of not eating be pretty momentus? It just kinda feels like it did that time I had a colonic.

Although, I must admit, it's really easy. I don't know what everyone's been eating to produce such painful results for themselves. Also, I've only lost about 6 pounds to date, and I gained one back yesterday...slow metablism I guess.

I have had this happen to me on occasion in the past but never to this degree. I'm guessing it's part of detoxing but I was wondering what this stuff is. Does anyone know or has anyone else had this happen to them? I'm on day 4 by the way.

    ShiloM,
Have you tried drinking the lemonade out of a straw? I've heard this can help w/ the reduction of cankers. My last cleanse (10-day) I too developed some mouth sourness, but so far on this cleanse - nothing. It could be attributed to drinking out of a straw this time around or just the fact that it's only day 4 for me. In any case, it's something to try.

I am just like you in regards to feeling fine, never had an ache or pain but still find the cleanse very beneficial. My skin starts to glow, my hair starts to look very healthy and shiny, my eczema clears up and I just get a mellow overall great feeling. I don't think everyone should expect all of the horrible eliminations that are talked about because I have never experienced them either. I tend to notice the changes in skin etc... towards the end of the cleanse, around day 10 or longer. Sounds like you are actually doing great!

Help! I'm ready to throw in the towel today, day 4. I have had so much pain in my legs and kidneys and abdomin. I can barely make it through the day (especially the hour after I drink a glass of the lemonaid. The drink seems to put me into a fit of cramps. The last two nights have been incredible, I have slept about 4 hours total. The pain gets so bad that last night I was afraid my kidneys would shut down and considered going to the hospital. It finally stopped about 5am and I slept until 6. I did eliminate this morning with the help of the lax tea. I did not SWF this morning but have the last 3 days. It took about 3 hours to recover from the cramps each day so I decided to try this route. I really do want to detox but I'm just not sure how far to push it? I am not a whimp and have a very hight tolerance for pain and discomfort. My husband is concerned for my health. Please advise.

    jjm,

Obviously I have no way of judging your pain, so if it gets to be too severe, definitely use your own judgement about the cleanse.

From my experience though, when I use too much cayenne pepper I will have cramping. You could try to use a bit less pepper and see if the cramps lessen. I hope you feel better!

Hi there! I'm having lower back/kidney pain too today. It's not too bad currently, but I know what you're going through. During one of my MC's last year my hamstrings and lower back were killing me on days 4-6. One night I even broke down and took an aspirin so I could sleep I finally decided it must be my kidneys so I doubled my intake of water. I consumed 6 LA's and about a gallon of water--yes, I was in and out of the loo all day. That night I took an Epson salt bath (with 2-3 lbs Epsom salt and I massaged my lower back and legs. (It would have been better to have had someone else do it for me, but oh well!) That seemed to help tremendously and by day 7 I was feeling much better, on day 8 I had reached that glorious MC euphoria With the pain starting today on day 7, I plan to take the bath and do the massage this evening and hopefully put an end to it before it gets much worse. Oddly enough, I haven't had this pain during my last 2 MC's and I didn't have it the few MC's I did before. I'm not sure why it's coming back now, but it's true that every time is different.

So, try the bath and massage and extra water. It's obviously crud that needs to come out! You'll feel much better once you work through it.

On Day 2 of my third MC - having headaches, and while I know they're a detox symptom, they still suck. I'd never had a ny symptoms that last two times I did the MC, but it's been a year and a half since the last one, so it's probably a caffeine withdrawal if anything.
