Braved the SWF this morning, not the "shots" I fear that is way too unhealthy. The SWF was not too bad. I counted my gulps, and it went down ok, doing my business an hour later!

    Onward with my first day!

    not so sleepyhead.

    Sunsparkle:

I can't imagine one portion of cheese could have that strong an effect, but who knows? Are you still running, or did you stop when you began the MC?

Have you considered a different type of Sea Salt? The Celtic Gray is said to be more palatable for some, but maybe it is not for you, taste wise? What have you to lose, eh? It costs almost nothing except for the trip to the store, right?

Are you taking any lax tea? If so, what type and how often?

I drank the Smooth Move tea Sunday night before Day 1, then again the morning and night of Day 1. I decided to start the SWF this morning for the first time on Day 2. I will drink the tea again tonight.

I'm tempted to try the shot thing but I know its dangerous. I will probably try cold water tomorrow and split it up into two glasses rather than an entire daunting Nalgene.

I did not run yesterday as it was raining here in Austin, but I will today after work. I'll let you know how that goes!

I think that'll work great because 1. you're not messing with the concentration and 2. it feels like less bc visually, you're seeing less.

welcome cubbiebullbear - your tips messes with the concentration which is why i'd say proceed with caution with that one. check out earlier in this thread where we've been discussing that and also the General Help for Newbies thread.

i'm glad you had a successful swf sleepyhead.

sunsparkle, have you tried increasing the amt of salt? have we talked about this already?
and TallTravel asked some good questions. soaking your tea longer might help. If you increase the salt and it doesn't work tomorrow, do the tea in the morning instead for a day or two then try the swf again.

I put the salt in with 8oz of water and did about three or four big gulps to get it down with chaser of the spring water then after I got all the salt down I finished the rest of the water. I think it was easier for me to swallow a couple of big drinks with the salt then the whole 32oz salted. Just my opinion but if you are having a hard time getting it down with all the water you may want to give it a shot. Good luck. Scott
    Hi cubbiebullbear,

I recently posted my "shot" method for the SWF on page 94 of this thread. You should read it if you are interested in continuing to use that method. It has been met with a lot of opposition by the senior members though. I am currently in the process of updating that post with more information that will allow people to make a better decision about whether the "shot" method is right for them. I would also like to include your name in an ongoing list of those that have tried the method (those that approve and disapprove of it) if that's OK with you.

I really don't want to drink that large amount of salt all at once.It MUST be unhealthy! I would blow up like a balloon.

HELP. This posted is confusing me.

    sleepyhead,

I'm sorry you were confused by my post about the "shot" method. I was not suggesting that you take a concentrate "shot" of sea salt water alone. If you read the entire post it states that you must follow the shot IMMEDIATELY with 32 oz of water (actually it should read 30 oz of spring water). My revised post will include a better description of the process so there will be less confusion.

In the meantime, for everyone else, when in doubt, follow the instructions in Stanley Burroughs book which have been outlined for you at the beginning of this thread (page 1).

For those new to the SWF, and are still interested in the "shot" method, I highly suggest that you at least try the method in the book and on this forum first (if anything, it will give you a greater appreciation for my method). If the standard method doesn't work, you do have additional options: 1) Use the senna tea in lieu of the SWF (Stanley Burroughs recommends you do the SWF if at all possible), or if for some reason you refuse to do that, 2) don't do the Master Cleanse at all. I would recommend you do the SWF or the senna tea rather than not do The Master Cleanse at all. Finally, if none of those options appeal to you, or work for you, then the final option (as I see it) is to try the "shot" method. Good luck and let me know how (or if) the "shot" method worked for you.

I dont just do the 8oz with salt and stop I immediatly follow with the water in total it may have taken me 5 minutes to drink the salt and water. I just figured that doing it that way gives me more benefit then not getting more than half down total. It did seem to work fine and I had it go through rather quickly.

Given that I normally do not drink very much (it always seems to go straight through me!) I was worried about the swf. On day 1 it was really hard and I had to suck a lemon in between glasses to get rid of the taste.

On day 3 now & I found the last 2 swf's much easier. I have split it into 2 plastic water bottles. I drink one straight down, wait 2 or 3 mins and then drink the other.

Now I know what to expect, the taste doesn't worry me.

Even after I finish the cleanse, I am going to do this maybe once a week or so as suggested.

    Angry Re: Salt water flush

I despise the SWF!!! It is the only thing about this cleanse that has me asking myself "What am I doing to my body!" I just took it over 4 8oz glasses of cold water (the only way I can get it down) and am waiting. Start of Day 3 for me and it didn't work yesterday. I feel gross and look preggo right now!! And before I drank that water I was pleasantly surprised at what I saw in the mirror this morning.

I tried the SWF yesterday and nothing, so if it doesn't do the job today I'm going to have to stick with the tea. I'm really worries about absorbing all that salt into my bod.

...waiting for the magic to happen....

ok...update here. I've had about 2 BM's so far but they are the wimpiest lot I've ever seen. Nothing I don't get by drinking the Smooth Move. Pretty much all bile.

Any advice from the veterans? Did I do something wrong? Is the SALT still in my body or has it passed through?

    Thanks guys.
