Hi - Today is my first day of the Cleanse, just finished up my first SWF. I've been checking the BB for the last few weeks (getting "my courage up," if you will) and I was TERRIFIED of the SWF - afraid I'd throw it up, etc. But I just made sure it was lukewarm water and only used a teeny bit less than 2 teaspoons and it wasn't so bad - I chugged it in about 34 gulps.

Are you using 2 TEAspoons (as opposed to 2 TABLEspoons) of salt? Are you using lukewarm water?

It seems like Peter strongly encouraged the SWF in his book. Stanley Burroughs says "It is quite adviseable to take the herb laxative tea at night to loosen, the the salt water flush each more to wash it out. If for some reason the salt water cannot be taken in the morning, then the herb laxative tea must be taken morning and night."

I don't think you are alone - it seems like several people have tried it and had big issues with it. Maybe try a little less salt? I think Peter said his wife drank it through a straw... Good luck with whatever you decides works best for you. I know others on this Board drink the tea morning and night.

Not sure if this question has been addressed. I have no problem with getting the SWF down- I am having problems drinking the tea. Has anyone just doubled up on the SWF drinking it twice a day instead of just in the morning?

Thank you in advance for your reply

if you can't do the SWF just do the tea in the a.m. and the p.m.
the SWF is not made for everybody.
    you'll be fine either way.

don't think doubling up is a good idea because the tea loosens stuff up and the swf gets it out. so they both serve their purposes.
also the swf washes EVERYTHING out so if you take it in the night you'll be washing out all the nutrients and everything you drank that day.

try a different brand of tea or mixing your tea with a bag of peppermint and a little maple syrup.

Does it have to be a full quart? I just drank my first SWF flush and that's an awful lot of liquid to put in my tummy in one sitting. I'm now quite uncomfortably full. I'm not a huge person, if that means anything (in fact, I'm rather small.)

EDIT: It's not the taste I have issues with. It's the amount.

    hey babes,
yes a full quart is necessary. don't mess with the formula.
there's another site for cleansing that has a swf on it and it's TWICE as much as this one so I'm ok with a quart at this point.

Try breaking it up and drinking half, walking around, then drinking the other half.

Also rub your belly to help it move down. Do some stretches like standing twists, stand with your arms in the air and lean to the left and to the right, and walk around a bit.

I hate the feeling of all that water on my belly sometimes too but it's part of the game.

I've read that laying on your right side helps as well.

Thanks for the tips. The discomfort went away fairly quickly, but I bet that if I do the stuff you say it will go away even faster tomorrow.

P.S. The flush seemed pretty successful - lots of stuff came out.

what kind of tea are you drinking? Smooth move is pretty palatable. I have also heard people mixing peppermint tea with their laxative tea. There are all kinds of laxative teas out there that have senna in them. Just be careful with the super dieters tea since it has stevia in it, a sweetener. Burroughs says the laxative tea is the agitator and the SWF is the rinse cycle!

I started my MC on 8/11/06 and I have taken the tea and the SWF. After the first day my weight shot up 5lbs (it could have been the SWF) then I came back down to my normal weight. I have not lost a lb since and getting discourage and thinking about quiting if I don't see weight lost when I get I the scale tomorrow. I also started to excercise (yesterday and today). I lost weight just cutting out a meal in the evening and just eating a low calorie snack.

What could I be doing wrong?

    Thanks for any reply!!

you just need to be more patient.

    what day are you on?
you do retain water with the swf so that's part of it.
but don't rely on the scale, look at inches and the way you feel.
In my case, I did a 20 day cleanse and didn't show any weightloss until my last 4 days. It's actually showing more now that I've broke the cleanse than when I was on it. But I dropped two dress sizes so I know it worked.

Just be patient and stick to it. I know it can be discouraging but it'll be worth it after all.
