Red face Re: Salt water flush

I'm on day 8 and have only lost about 5lbs, and yesterday I went up .5lbs... Also, I am "going" all day long! After the SWF in the am, I go about 5-6X then several more times throughout the day. The last few days, I've been waking up in the middle of the night to "go". It's always pretty much clear orange, nothing solid or anything else. I am following the MC to the letter, no changes, substitutions, additions, etc... I have not had any increased energy or clarity. The only difference I feel is that I have to use the bathroom all day long and fear leaving the house to be away from a toilet! I am not going to give up, but shouldn't I be getting more out of this than just butt pee?

I've been eliminating for 5 days doing the laxative tea morning and night and decided to brave the salt water flush. I drank 32 oz water with two teaspoons of coarse celtic sea salt and had no response for the last 7 hours. Should I do another flush today or continue with just the tea and juice?

As long as you feel well, I wouldn't bother trying it again today. You may want to up the amount of salt the next time you try. For whatever reason I have to use two tablespoons for it to work for me, it may be the age of the salt as I've had it for a few years.

    Question Re: Salt water flush

I'm on Day 5 of my first master cleanse and have noticed that the laxative tea is still making some "solid' flaky stuff come out, but it seems like the SWF in the morning is expelling nothing more than a bright, but dark yellow liquid, it's like pee coming out of my butt after taking B vitamins! I am wondering if it is BETTER for me to just do the tea morning and night and no SWF? Anyone else experiencing this or have any input? Why is the salt water going through my system and turning yellow? What is that? Anyone know?

Is it just me, or does the SWF go through you faster the more days of the MC that you do? It seems it goes through me almost as fast as I can drink it now.
    MC 1= 25days and 27 lbs lost!
    MC2 = 13days 14 lbs lost!!
Gained back the MC2 cleanse cause I was not careful about what I ate afterwards...
Up from my "normal" weight that I have maintained since MC1...So here I am again!!
MC3=3/7/2011-present-starting weight 179.6 (normal maintained from cleanse 1 is 171--23lbs lower than before MC1)

I am on day 3 and I find myself with a toothache. I tried to do a search for "toothache" but I'm not sure if I am doing it right. Anyway, could the MC be causing this and if so, why would that be the case and how might I remedy it?

    Hi moralez,

The rule of thumb on the cleanse is that there are very few coincidences, and the most likely source of any new symptom that appears is detox. So you would want to wait a day or two before making any moves. If it's detox, it'll disappear, usually with the next day's eliminations. If it's detox, you also want it to be able to be expressed and eliminated rather than trying to simply mask it.

However, I'm not sure what you mean by "toothache". Many people on the cleanse will develop a sensitivity around the gums that hurts when they brush their teeth. This could be detox or could be a reaction to the lemon juice. It is most easily dealt with by simply rinsing out the mouth after every lemonade. I had these symptoms quite badly for cleanse #2 (though it disappeared immediately after my cleanse was over) and #3, and late into cleanse #3 I started having a glass of plain water alongside my lemonade, taking drink of water after every drink of lemonade. I've never had the sensitive teeth again with any of my later cleanses.

So if your problem seems like the second issue, start right now adding the plain water. If it's a different kind of toothache, wait a day or so and see if it goes away. If it doesn't, then you might want to have someone take a look at it.

    Happy cleansing!

    hi kathy,

thank you. this information was very helpful. i do wear an appliance in my mouth and the area that hurts is related to the appliance. i think this is part of it but i think it may be also the detox. again thank you. francisca

Hey people - I've done the MC four times - this is my fifth - though I haven't been on the board in a while (lost my last login)....anyway....this is the first time I can't keep the SWF down. I barfed all of it up...a ton of water and salt. I used the restroom a few times but not nearly as much as i have in the past. Does barfing the SWF just a little after you take it pretty much do away with what it is supposed to do?
Should I hit the tea afterwards? The tea doesn't work for hours on me, I do it at night but anyway, just wanted to get some seasoned vets' advice. thanks.

I find that is I get the temp right it is much easier.................somewhere between not a boiling cup of tea and not luke warm either.....I used to count the swallows for each mouthful but now I drink it whilst doing my emails...................trying not to let it get too cool..........
It could just be a stage of your detox............it usually gets better over time.
    Keep going.............good luck
