Only if you work nights and night is your "morning". The SWF needs to be done first thing upon arising, on a totally empty stomach--not even water ahead of it. If you've been up all day and having lemonade, etc., then it's not appropriate and could make you quite ill.

    Default Laxatives

    Hello, I'm new here.
I am planning on starting the master cleanse tomorrow. I tried the master cleanse two years ago, and I only made it for two days. At the time though, I was 16 and saw it in a magazine, so of course I did not get all the facts and did not know about having to drink salt water or a laxative tea. I tried the salt water, and I just cannot stand it. I tried it hot, cold, and with more water to dillute it, and I just can't get down more than a few sips. I haven't been able to find laxative tea, either. So I was wondering, as a last resort, if it would be acceptable to use a regular laxative. Like the ones you stir in to water, or a pill?

whereabouts are you? i know here in Australia you can get laxative tea pretty much anywhere...

are you putting the correct amount of salt in? you only need to put in 1/10th of a teaspoon, and it should be room temperature so as not to 'shock' the body...

Thumbs up Re: Salt water flush

man this salt water flush is a killer! i've been doing the tea in the morning and at night only because there is no way i can drink 32oz of water and my 6 servings of lemonade in one day. i did try the salt water this morning but only got a few gulps in and that was it for me. then again i did mess up the salt by putting in 2 tbsp instead of 2 tsps. so i will try again tomorrow. being that i'm a work i will just do the tea this morninga long with the few gulps of salt water i had. i'm on day 3 and still no elimination. however, i feel great! i work 7:30am-4:30pm then have college 4 days a week from 5:30-9pm so i used to just grab fast food on the run. now i have my lemonade and am never hungry. i def want to give this salt water a try and for all those people having problems hang in there! your body will love you for it. besides we only get one body.

I haven't seen Smooth Move at the grocery, but I can get it at GNC or Vitamin Shoppe. I drink the salt water warm--just a little warmer than body temp--and add just a squirt of lemon. I don't have the book in front of me, but I think that's legal.

This is day 2 of my second cleanse. I am scheduled for a routine colonoscopy next week and I hope this process will make the prep easier.

You will find a HUGE difference between 2 TABLEspoons and 2 teaspoons. lol Try the Celtic gray sea salt. Its more mild.

so yet another thing i was doing wrong was the water. i actually used 60oz instead of 32oz. that is much more doable! eliminations started yesterday and i feel great. the book said day 2 and 3 are the hardest but they breezed on by for me....thank goodness to work for keeping my mind off of things. though i feel great i don't look so great. i look very pale and am getting major dark circles under my eyes which is freaking out everyone who are trying to make me stop the cleanse. this sucks as it makes it that much harder and i'm only on day 4. anyone had the same thing happen to them? i re-read the detox symptoms and didn't see anything about that there.

    Unhappy Re: Salt water flush

Hi, I'm new here and this thread was way too long for me to get through! I have two questions:

#1- I couldn't find uniodized sea salt, and i'm assuming the one I bought is just regular. Will this work? It only says sea salt for ingredients, should I do a search for celtic sea salt instead? I'm guessing i'd find that at some super health store?

#2- I'm actually going through a mild case of food poisoning that i'm still recovering from. Is it too soon to start? I read the book and it said that this helps with illness, so i'm not sure if this could be beneficial or not. I was just hoping to get a quick start on it before my week gets hectic- since I heard that the third or fourth days were harder to get through. My only concern is that I don't think I can do the SWF since i'm feeling so ill.

    Thanks!

AROD82 - make sure you're drinking enough water along with the lemonade. I know it seems like alot of liquid, but your body needs it. I drink a full glass of water for every glass of lemonade.

ChubbyBunny - cute name! The salt should say 'not a source of iodide, a necessary nutrient' this means iodine hasn't been added. You wouldn't think it would make that much difference, but when you're using really good salt, like celtic grey sea salt, the SWF is much easier to do.

    Cool Re: Salt water flush

Thank you Diana, I will go out and try another store. I don't think I can find the celtic salt at this time tonight but i'll find an unidiozed one. As for me being sick I can report that i'm feeling better so I'm going to give it a try. Tonight i'll be drinking my senna tea and giving the SWF the whirl tommorrow morning. I will give my report on how I'm feeling so others can find out if a recovering food poisoning case can still manage a MC.
