Thread: Salt water flush

I, too, went without the SWF this morning... but no SWF has shown itself
and it's been three hours. I'm thinking just like on cleanse one my day 1 SWF
is going to be a dud. On the plus side it will make my measurement loss
greater in the end... ha ha. Kidding. Mostly.

    Edited to add:
That is a little unclear. I eliminated before the SWF... then I drank it...
but it didn't - well - flush. It stayed. I'm being brain foggy today!

    Question Re: Salt water flush

Is it terrible that I am on Day 2 and have not done an swf? I did the laxative teas yesterday and this morning because I just couldn't wake up early enough to do it. How much time do I have to allow myself before I can go to work? Two hours or so? I will definitely do it tomorrow and wake up 2 hours earlier than I plan to leave, do the flush, and maybe go back to sleep.

You do not have to do the SWF. Tea twice a day is acceptable. I happen to believe you miss out on a lot by doing so, but it's a choice that is viable.

So don't worry. Do it when you can, and do the tea when you can't. I am usually good to go just about exactly 1.5 hours after I finish drinking the SWF. So 2 hours is a good ballpark figure. Maybe you should try the SWF on a weekend or a day when you don't have to be anywhere, so you can see how it works for you.

    Have fun!

I am a big fan of Bragg of Apple Cider Vinegar fame. Paul Bragg advises fasting as well. I want to do a master cleanse but the salt water flush concerns me:

"All salts purchased in a supermarket or added to foods are toxic
to the body. Why? Because the salt manufacturers have taken the
inorganic minerals, either from an earth or ocean source, cooked
them at very high temperatures, and removed during processing ALL
the naturally occurring trace minerals except for sodium and
chloride. Table salt is 99% pure sodium chloride, plus the toxic
substances added to it to keep it free flowing."

This is the point of view of bragg. I know that celtic sea salt is still inorganic and largely sodium chloride. Bragg says that it dries up intestinal fluids and should never be consumed. Why do we need the salt. I read about the specific gravity and how it is not supposed to get absorbed, but what is the reason for it anyway. I am uncertain about doing the salt flush because I want to flush out sodium chloride as well. Any thoughts?

Here's an excerpt from the book:

ANOTHER CLEANSING AID: INTERNAL SALT WATER BATHING

As it is necessary to bathe the outside of our bodies, so it is with the inside. Do not take enemas or colonics at any time during the cleansing diet or afterwards. They are unnecessary and can be extremely harmful.
There is a much superior method of cleansing the colonic tract without the harmful effects of customary colonics and enemas. This method will cleanse the entire digestive tract while the colonics and enemas
will only reach the colon or a small part of it. Colonics can be expensive while our salt-water method is not.

    DIRECTIONS

: Prepare a full quart of lukewarm water and add two level (rounded for the Canadian quart) teaspoons of sea salt. Do not use ordinary iodized salt, as it will not work properly. Drink the entire quart of salt and water first thing in the morning. This must be taken on an empty stomach. The salt and water will not separate but will stay intact and quickly and thoroughly wash the entire tract in about one hour. Several eliminations will likely occur. The salt water has the same specific gravity as the blood, hence the kidneys cannot pick up the water and the blood cannot pick up the salt. This may be taken as often as needed for proper washing of the entire digestive system. If the salt water does not work the first time, try adding a little more or a little less salt until the proper
balance is found; or possible take extra water with or without salt. This often increases the activity.

Remember, it can do no harm at any time. The colon needs a good washing, but do it the natural way— the salt water way.

It is quite advisable to take the herb laxative tea at night to loosen, then the salt water each morning to wash it out. If for some reason the salt water cannot be taken in the morning, then the herb laxative tea
must be taken night and morning.

The SWF is really giving me trouble this time round! I managed it fine on my first two MC's, but I'm now on day 5 and have thrown up right after drinking the salt water on 2 of the 5 days so far, and have struggled with terrible nausea and stomach pains right after drinking it on 2 other days. In fact today is the first day it has felt ok, although I look and feel hideously bloated for several hours after it. I haven't really eliminated much after the SWF, which I'm putting down to being on a meat/dairy heavy diet recently, and expect this will change in a few days. But where does the salt water go if it isn't eliminated? I am worried I am somehow poisoning myself with too much salt floating round my body, and holding all this water surely can't be great for me. Plus I'm sure it's stopping me losing any weight!!! Any similar experiences or words of advice would be great...

    Janieliz,

Sorry things aren't working so well. I doubt you're poisoning yourself. However, one thing you can do pretty easily is simply switch to the tea night and morning for the next few days and see if that helps. Then you can try the SWF again, and maybe switch back and forth this cleanse.

Thanks mtmouse. I did the SWF again today with more salt than usual as various notes on the board suggested this might help. I did have eliminations today, but nothing much more than the "Butt Pee" and they took well over 2 hours after the SWF to start! So I am taking your advice and trying the tea for a day or two. I've always stuck to the cleanse religiously, but I don't feel like anything is happening this time, I just feel bloated, heavy and miserable. Maybe the tea will help me dodge that awful post-swf sickness I keep getting. Thanks for your advice!

I started my Master Cleanse this morning January 7th.
The salt water flush made me vomit within 15 minutes of drinking it.
    I measured the salt properly.
    Any suggestions
    Thanks Grannie2

Is there a certain amount of time that the 32 ounces of salt water has to be drank? I ask because I've been having an increasingly hard time drinking it. The first day I drank it in under 20 minutes. The second day it took me about 30 minutes and I nearly threw it up and today, my third day, I could only get down about 18 ounces in about 40 minutes and because it was taking so long, I gave up on the rest. I'm worried that it has to be ingested all at the same time and because it's taking me so long it won't have the same effect. Is that idea well founded or is it alright to take over an hour to drink it, as long as I'm drinking all 32 ounces?
