Thread: Salt water flush

Hello everyone. I was wondering if it's possible to swallow the salt by itself then immediately drink the quart afterwards? The flush is barely tolerable when they're mixed together for me and I actually enjoy the taste of the salt by itself. Thanks.

I have read S.B.'s book and the General Thread for n00bs... but now I have an issue (of sorts) that has been covered but not really... because, as said many times, everyone's body is different, etc.

A little background: I am vegetarian, mostly vegan (I don't cook/bake otherwise in my own kitch); I avoid eggs/dairy as much as possible (though lately it was getting out of hand--hence one reason for doing the MC). I have never smoked; I drink *maybe* once every two weeks (and not binge drinking, either). I eat at least two servings of fruit a day, avoid processed foods, HFCS, chemical sweeteners, try to keep my leafy greens in check, etc. etc. I also exercise (I run, among other things) on a regular basis. So, suffice it to say overall I'm pretty healthy.

Now I read that peanutterb, you said you were having solid eliminations up through Day 17? Can you tell me, was that on your first Cleanse? What was your diet like before that?

I had one solid movement the morning of Day One, and since then nada. Just the "butt pee" and really nothing in that besides (what I think is) bits of lemon pulp. And this is so graphic... sorry to those with weak stomachs but you ARE in the SWF thread Anyway, reading this thread is making me wonder if, even though the SWF is working, is it working "enough"? Like do I still have stuff "up there" that's not really coming out? Or perhaps I wasn't that... um... "dirty" to begin with. I am on Day Five, and have done the SWF every day except Day Four (had a 7A.M. meeting and didn't want to wake up at 4:30 to take it) and it's "worked" every day with the 32 oz. water/2 level tsp. of salt. Should I increase my salt or just settle for 98% liquid eliminations?

Thanks for any responses and good luck to everyone on the Cleanse

hey pseudovegan - I was vegetarian for 11 years and vegan for 2. well 99% vegan, for instance if I'm out I won't fuss too much if something has butter or a bit of dairy. But nothing with cheese. I cook most of my own food so most of what I eat is vegan and healthy. I've done raw in the past. Work out (not as regularly as I should) and only drink on occasion and do no drugs. so i'm pretty clean. I've done 4 MCs, 13, 20, 15 and 32 days and on all of them I had solids coming out pretty late in the game, often after several days of nothing (just liquid).

Remember you've got several feet of intestines and years upon years of build up.
It takes a while for all the gunk in your intestines to break down and get off the walls.

I'd like to clarify something - When I say I had solids I mean that my butt pee wasn't just yellow or clear, which it was on some days. It would be dark brown, have flakes, have actual solids, or have loose debris like stuff. These would usually be the first one or three BMs when I did my swf or before that if they tea made me go and then after that it would be butt pee. sometimes, randomly in the middle of the afternoon, I'd have a movement and it'ld have bits of solids.

It's definitely different for everybody but be patient. You're not doing anything wrong. Perhaps letting your tea soak longer at night might help (though I don't do that because I'm prone to cramps).

Well I'm awake to do the SWF (nothin' like being up before 8 A.M. on a non-activity Sunday ) so I figured I'd post a reply of thanks.

    Thanks!

When I read "solids" I misinterpreted. Or, interpreted it as it's usually interpreted and I'm thinking, "Geez lady you've got a lot of crap up there!" Like "normal" solid BM's... what you described sounds pretty similar to what's happening with me I guess. I've noticed the lax tea tends to um... "release" more "stuff" (like last night at 3 A.M. <_< ) and the SWF tends to just be... a lot of nothing.

Day Six though and going strong. This morning's SWF was/is (the second pint is staring at me...) hotter than I normally take it (by accident, and not enough to scald my mouth or anything) and the first pint was easier to take. So that's good I guess. For now *sings* I'm off to see the Toilee... the Wonderful Toilee of Flush

Just one quick question...do you have to drink the SWF all at once? I'm not used to drink too much liquid and I just can't drink the whole quart, I do half and wait for about 30min before I can drink the rest, and that's already making me gag...
    Any advice??

    Lia,

Most people skip the tea the last night and skip the flush on their first OJ day, but some do one or both. So you can choose which feels right to you.

stella, have you tried the tips in the general help for newbies thread on how to make the swf easier? those might help.

you don't have to chug it but try to keep it as together as you can, even if that means drinking it slower. Check out the newbies thread if you haven't yet, try those, then let me know.

Peter, today is my first day on the MC. I took the laxative tea last night and tried the SWF this morning. I could not hold the SWF down. I have decided to stick with the tea morning and night. I usually have 2 bm per week, do you think the tea will be just as effective as the swf? It is 3pm now and I have not had a bm nor do I feel hungry.

    Wish me luck
