Default Re: Salt water flush- cannot drink it

I have a question. I have done the master cleanse 3 times last year and always loved it, but got to the point of not being able to drink the SWF anymore, it just made me want to throw up. I am ready to start cleansing again and am wondering if anyone has successfully found a way to make the SWF better tasting.

    thank you

    Default I have an idea!

I have an idea about the SWF that might make it easier - looking for feedback.

The problem people generally have with the SWF is not drinking salt water - it's drinking the whole quart. I tend to get over it by heating up the water very hot and pretend I'm drinking bouillion. It can take awhile - but tha'ts not my idea.

The real idea follows - I have NOT tried this and won't be doing another SWF until sunday, so use at your own risk or just wait until I do it and report on it.

    The Idea

My idea is this. You need 1 to 2 label teaspoons of salt and a quart of water, right? Do you need them at the same time or can there be some time for it to mix in your stomach? What if you dissolved the salt in say - a cup of water (i.e. really salty water) - drink that down fast, followed by the remaining three cups of clear water.

Or perhaps even in reverse this would work - or some combination to get it to mix faster. One cup of clear water - a cup of the salty water - two cups of clear water.

Anybody finding fault with this idea?

The only thing I don't know about is how bad the really salty water will taste. (really bad?)

Sorry to say, this idea has been thought of before (and is probably talked about earlier in this very thread), and is a very bad idea. It does have to be premixed and to go in at the same time. It is not the same thing to mix it "in your stomach", and taking that high concentration of salt in the shot can in fact be quite dangerous.

    We absolutely don't recommend it.

Hey all. I drink the 32oz of salt water (with the exception of today). I am just wondering why it's 32 oz? I had 24 today and things seemed to flush through me without problems. This is not a habit I'm going to get into, but today it was just the way it had to be.

What's so magical about 32? And why doesn't it depend of size? I would have thought the smaller the person, the less the amount of water, but I've read elsewhere that this is not the case.

Not a gripe, just a curiousity.

I think the most important part is really getting the right ratio of salt to water. It has to have the proper salinity to go through your system, rather than be absorbed and go out the other way. The 32 oz works with the 2 teaspoons in order to get that ratio. Too much less than that is too salty, too much more than that is not salty enough and you'll miss the benefits of the SWF.

You could make the 32 oz, and throw the rest away, but why? Get the maximum benefit.

According to wikipedia (the definitive source of completely accurate information on everything in the world) the small intestine is "is approximately 7 m (21 ft) long and can vary from 4-7 m (13.12-22.97 ft)."

That's LONG. Lots of room for stuff to accumulate. And that doesn't seem like a great variance between individuals. I don't see that the size of a person will make that much of a difference.

21 Feet! To me it explains why now on day 6 I'm still encountering solid material. That's pretty remarkable.

    Hi everyone,

On day 5 here of my very first, MC. I have a question about the SWF and BM. I've yet to have an actual BM....mostly just the butt pee as others have mentioned. This does mean the MC isn't as effective?? Not sure what else to do. Taking the tea at night and following everything else very carefully. I do tend to get up around 4am from the tea...but yet to accomplish anything really...ummm..impressive in that department.

This has to be my strangest posting on any site, ever!

    Thanks for the help!

i need help over here! can i just use sea salt? i cant find sea salt that says uniodized. theres no ingredient list or a proper brand. so i have no idea if it contains iodide or not.

whats the difference between refined sea salt and unrefined sea salt?

what happens if i drink the refined one?

is the unrefined one the one used for cooking?

is the sea salt used for cooking refined or unrefined?

should i just drink the sea salt that doesnt say whether its iodized or not? (cos on the net, they say most sea salts do not contain iodide?)

    which one guys!!

and what does it matter if i actually drink the refined one? iodide is not bad for our health anyway right?

someone please give me an answer!!!

    thanks in advance

    Question Re: Salt water flush

Hi. I'm on my first day of the master cleanse. I did the salt flush this morning which worked quite well, but tasted awful. I almost couldn't keep it down. Would it be ok to put a little bit of lemon juice in it to make it taste a little better? Otherwise, I think I'm gong to have to do the tea morning and night because it took an hour for me to get the salt flush down and it was really difficult. Any advice would really help.

Also, I just wanted to say that I'm a freshman in college and I'm getting a bunch of my friends to do the cleanse with me! Here's to a healthy start to life!

    Ihaveaquestion,

That looks like lots of questions!

You can use any salt that does not have iodine added and which does not contain an anticaking agent. Naturally occurring iodide is not an issue. Unrefined salt will look gray, refined salt will look white.

Either can be used for the SWF, and either can be used for cooking.

However, the Celtic gray (unrefined) sea salt will taste a LOT better in your SWF!

Okay, no more questions from you now! (just kidding!)
