Thread: Salt water flush

Should I wait until AFTER the effects of the SWF kicks in to start drinking the lemonade, or can I drink it right away?

You should wait at least half an hour after finishing the SWF before drinking anything else. I personally think you should even wait until about a half hour after it kicks in, but I think that may get down to personal preference. Sometimes drinking something else may cause it to kick in sooner. However, my own experience has been that that doesn't speed up when it ends.

ok so I read that after SWF I will feel need to eliminate 30to 40 min after. So is this in the form of a BM or urination? I ask because I work a reg 9-5 and I cant got to the bathroom every 5 secs. Or should I do this maybe a few hours prior to work? Starting cleanse this friday !!! SOOO Excited!!!! but nervous

Thumbs up Re: Salt water flush

hotmodelchiq - I found myself getting up an extra 2 hours early my entire time on the cleanse - just to make sure I was good before I left for work... I guess everyone was different, but for me, it would hit me anywhere from 10 minutes after I drank the SWF to 3 hours afterwards... so for the first few days, make sure u get up EXTRA early and learn how your body reacts to it... u don't want to be in the car and suddenly have to go... that's not a good thing.
    Good luck to you

Well, it's a BM--but it's totally liquid. And it's not like it's every 5 seconds, but it could be every 5 minutes, five or six times, and you may have only 5 seconds to get to the bathroom. So I definitely second AlisaJJ in saying (1) you should try it first on a weekend when you don't have to be at work, to see how it affects you, and (2) you want to get it over with completely by the time you leave the house. Most of the time, once it's over, it's over for the day and you're home free.

So on Friday you might want to do the tea in the morning, and then try the SWF on Saturday and Sunday.

    Good luck and happy cleansing!

    HELP!!
I am on day 7 and the SWF has never really worked for me. I do it religiously every morning, I have tried adding more salt, I have tried drinking more water after. I feel as though I have tried everything! I have a small elimination from the tea in the morning, but no flush after that. Once on day 2 and once on day 6 I had a small flush-like elimination. BUt for the most part nothing. Plus this whole time the urge to go is minimal at best. I usually have to elect to sit on the toilet until I can force something to happen in the morning.
I am scared that my digestive system is stutting down or something.
I am also woried about the amount of salt I am consuming on a daily basis.
I really want the benefits of this. What do I do???

    sypita,

The quart of SWF weighs 2 pounds. If you aren't gaining 2 pounds a day, then it's going somewhere even though it doesn't seem like it.

But perhaps you should simply switch to laxative tea in the mornings, if only for a few days, to see how that works for you.

Hi all and good luck to everyone.

I have been on the MC for 5 days now. I was drinking the lax tea every night and every morning with what I thought were good results in elimination. I decided this morning to do the SWF (2 tsp sea salt/1Qt., as directed) instead, because I thought I might have been missing something that was more effective. I had a very small elimination right afterwards, and now at the end of the day, my stomach is bloated and I look a little bloated. I do not eat meat or poultry. I'm going back to the tea in the morning and at night. I gagged my way through the SW anyway and considering the effects, I much prefer the senna tea. Just thought I would share my experience.

    Have a great weekend!

Default Made it Through the SWF

    Hello all,

Today is my first day on the cleanse. When I first made up the SWF this morning, I was dismayed at the volume. Two tall glasses full. After the first swallow I didn't want to drink any more, but I decided to continue-- having toxins built up in my body will lead to more discomfort in the long run than a couple of glasses of salt water. About half way through my gag reflex wanted to kick in, but I just slowed down. I made it through the whole quart, and the results seemed right on target. Now that I know what the salt water tastes like, I feel that it can only get easier to take over the duration of the cleanse.

Good for you, Monica! It does get easier over time, especially when the results are good.

And if you aren't using Celtic sea salt, try that. That probably makes the biggest difference of all (but not, obviously, in the volume ).

    Happy cleansing!
