    Good morning LEMONHEADS!

    Again, I am sooooo excited to have company. Everyone is welcome even if you are not going for a long MC. We are going to have such a wonderful journey together! YIPPEE!

    Day 10: YIPPEE! Funny, just feels like the beginning of a nice journey. For me, all I need is to get past 10 days to start floating through the MC. I feel good!

    SHINE: Congrats on finishing your 1st 10-day MC! YIPPEE! I know your body is so thankful.
    Thank you for the best wishes and support too. RE: O blood types and getting cold during cleanses, Ohhhhh, I cannot believe that I forgot the scientific answer to why it is so for us. Another LemonHead shared it on another post some time ago. Perhaps Peter or someone else with that knowledge will read this and share it again. I am certain that I kept it in one of my folders. If I find it, I will share it as well.

    CHIXOR: Congrats on Day 4 of your 1st MC! YIPPEE! Way to go to commit to 40 days for your 1st time! YAY for you. You can do it! Question for you: what is a P&B shake? Is this another name for the lemonade or is it what I think it is? Cuz, you know we can only drink the lemonades, water, SWF, and cup of mint tea while on the MC. Also, I hope you acquire a taste for the lemonades…I love them. I do know if you put a lot of cayenne and less of the maple syrup, it can taste a bit strong…trust me. You can add less of the maple syrup or more of the cayenne to adjust the flavor and effectiveness. Less maple = less calories and quicker weight loss, more cayenne = more effective MC. Love the Lemonades!

    ULA: Congrats on Day 13 of your 1st MC! YAY, YAY! Wow, so many newbies with long-term visions. I LOVE IT! YAY FOR ALL OF YOU! Â*SO COOL!

    NEWTOCLEANSE: Congrats on Day 6 of 40 for you! HURRAY!!! Oh, we are going to have such fun! Yes! It does get easier after Day 10! The longer you cleanse you enter into the most wonderful realm. You just float through it! I cannot wait to hear the stories you all will share. It is incredible, magical and spiritual. I reached a point in the 30+ days where I could not imagine stopping. I was so blissful. *smile* Hang in there with us, we will support you. Â*Imagine that you CAN do it. The mind is very powerful and it will support you as well.

    BENNIES_MOMMY/NATALIE: hahahaha! You are funny; I guess you are meant to join us! Congrats on Day 15! YIPPEE! You can do the 40 days, we will support you. Your boredom with the lemonades will pass too. The great thing about the MC is that rough times usually pass by the next morning. Try giving yourself other things to focus on like the wonderful benefits. I will address some options in another posting on what I did to get through 42 days for all of you in just a few minutes…

    PATRICIAM: Congrats on Day 18! Way to go LEMONHEAD! YIPPEE! Isn’t it so cool how you feel go good and like you can go on forever? I remember that feeling and I am looking forward to feeling that way again. AWESOME!
    RE your Questions: 1. how healthy the MC is? I think it would be wise to refer to Burroughs and Peter’s books for documented information regarding this question. Many of us believe it is healthy and have had beneficial health experiences with it. However, whether it is healthy is a personal matter that is according to one’s current state of health. I have not experienced what you have shared with a feeling of something in your chest. You may need to confer with your doctor. You could also send Peter a note to inquiry as well. Please check into it and let us know. Maybe someone else will see this post and have some answers.

    Hey there.....
    i'm on day 4.
    and don't know why i'm bloated.
    i've been faithfully following directions - double check all the time to make sure. plus drinking lots of water.
    no problems with SWF - doesn't bother me and i actually look forward to it. no problems with tea. not problems being hungry. lots of eliminations. very cold.
    and getting more bloated by the minute! so discouraging. gained 5 lbs since yesterday and its all water weight. clothes tight, eyes swollen, ankles and calves very swollen.
    any ideas?
    another question - what about the lemonade drinks? do i get the best results with 12 drinks or 6-8? you mention 6 if you want to lose weight. am i doing better if i drink all of them or cut back?
    and finally - why does Burroughs say do not vary the amount of lemon at all? i love lemon and would rather be heavier on lemon and cayenne and lighter on syrup but i'm scared to deviate.
    any words of wisdom would help!
    i had thought i'd go 10 days but after reading the posts, not feeling hungry, and seeing what i'm eliminating, i'm thinking i can go 30 if i deal with the bloating thing!
    oh yeah - my tongue went from white - yesterday - to pink today but covered with blisters!

    Kira,

    Since you have done this before I have a question. Does it get easier? It seems like the first 11 days were a breeze compared to the last two. Day 12 and today (13), I woke up with my heart beating really fast, getting dizzy if I stand for too long, my legs feel weak and tingly, and I was sweating profusely (and it was not hot!!!). I did the teas and SWF, but it didn't really help, although I do feel a little better. These two days have been the hardest on the MC so far. I keep thinking that if I just ate something, I would feel better. But I have come too far to quit now, so I want to persevere. One thing I've learned from yoga is that when it seems like you can't go on, if you just push a little, you will make a breakthrough. I think that is the case here. I think I am finally getting rid of some major toxins (which proves that just the 10 days is not enough).

    newbie-- I've heard of people bloating on the MC from the SWF due to the salt. Try doing the tea in the morning and see if that helps.

    As far as the lemonade drink, you can just add less maple syrup, but at least one tablespoon for every two of lemon juice.

    Just a reminder, the MC is a detox, not a weightloss plan. If you look at it as only for weight loss, then you will be disappointed when you gain some of the weight back once it is over. And you will gain some weight back, because you can't continue to live off the less than 800 calories a day.

    i'm not so much looking for weight loss - just am appalled at how bloated i am and used the scale to measure that. thought maybe if i cut maple syrup and the number of drinks i'd lose the bloat.
    i can handle any detox symptoms but the bloating is going to make me quit if it doesn't subside.

    The P&B Shake is part of the ultimate cleanse, its a colon cleanse, and part of the Ultimate cleanse.

    I planned on doing 40 days too...I'm on #4 and I feel great so far. Had a horrible headache for a couple days, but I used to drink alot of coffee, so its probably caffine withdrawl...I was wondering????? Where do I get the P&B? Do you know.

    I'm planning on a 40 day mc. This is my first time, but I've done different ones(colonics and such) and didn't much care for them. So anyway...I'm aboard!!!!

    Oh...where do I get the P & B?? Health food store?

    Because “Bennies_Mommy” asked me to do it, here is “HOW I DID A 42-DAY MC, ETC.:

    Last May, I did my 1st MC for 42 days with the infamous Res, Debbie, Leigh, BaByCakes, Debj, LeNay and many wonderful others. *SMOOCHES* One day I shared how my hubby affectionately said we were all a bunch of LEMONHEADs. The name felt right and we have all used it since. It is the first key, join a support group! I could not have done 42 days without all the LEMONHEADS! Hurray LEMONHEADS! We shared our tips as we went along our journey and I am certain we will do the same. Here are some of mine:

    TIPS:
    1. Â* Â* Â*Join a support group (like this BB).
    2. Â* Â* Â*Only share what you are doing with supportive and like-minded people. This is to avoid the ridicule of those who are not supportive; it just drains your energy. Do it at your own risk.
    3. Â* Â* Â*Recommit to the MC every morning. I would say a mantra every morning. Like, “I can do this!” “Today is a great day for my MC” “I love me and the MC is helping me heal!” Use whatever works for you.
    4. Â* Â* Â*VISUALIZE your goal! See yourself healthy and trim! Own it! I even clip out photos of the image I want and paste them in my journal to look at everyday for inspiration.
    5. Â* Â* Â*Keep a daily JOURNAL! Use Peter’s “Worksheet” and record your thoughts, challenges, successes, etc.
    6. Â* Â* Â*Create a hard copy calendar and mark your days on it. Like Days 1, 10, 15, 20, 30, 35, etc. Look at it daily to visualize where you are and how far the next step is. Tell yourself that it is not a big deal to get there, you can do it!
    7. Â* Â* Â*I learned that it is not a big deal to go to a function with food and take my lemonades! No one really noticed. Just socialize and have fun. No one really notices if you are eating or not. You will be drinking your food. If any one offers you food, just say “no thank you” you do not have to explain why. If you do, they will be watching you.
    8. Â* Â* Â*Let your results speak for you. I kept my 1st MC private. Well, between the BB, my hubby, and me. When people noticed my huge loss in size, they asked how I did it. Then I shared the MC with them so they could help themselves if they wanted. Now I have a large following with friends, colleagues, and family. The results are advertisements.
    9. Â* Â* Â*Take your measurements and record them periodically. I record every 10 days. You will see more inches drop faster than pounds at times.
    10. Â* Â* Â*Commit to do the MC to regain your health, not to just lose weight. I wanted to reclaim my health. I knew that this included losing weight. My doctors had told me to lose weight as well. Yikes, that hurt!
    11. Â* Â* Â*Spend time reading about how to properly end the fast while cleansing and read the threads about Raw Foods and veggie lifestyles (if not already doing it) for inspiration and planning. If you do not want to go vegetarian, research what you can do to keep a healthy life. Peter’s other threads address these issues and provides wonderful information. Many LemonHeads have vast wisdom to share as well.
    12. Â* Â* Â*Commit to changing whatever life style habits you have that do not serve your health. You can keep the weight off if you commit to the appropriate changes for you.
    13. Â* Â* Â*When things got difficult, I went go for a walk and did yogic deep breathing to relax and refocus. Chat on the BB to vent and get help. I repeated my mantra, “I CAN DO THIS!” as often as needed each day.
    14. Â* Â* Â*I cleaned out my closets periodically and gave away the clothes that no longer fit. You must be committed to do this! I went from 15/16 to size petite 4/2.
    15. Â* Â* Â*You have to get your heart and mind into doing the MC to do it successfully.
    16. Â* Â* Â*I read both Burroughs and Peter’s books several times while cleansing. I highly recommend this because you gain the knowledge you need to understand the MC and the inspiration to stay on it.
    17. Â* Â* Â*As I gained energy, I exercised. I started with simple walks and that was hard at first! I moved up to walking miles, swimming like a mermaid again, doing more yoga daily, joined the gym, etc. Do whatever works for you.
    18. Â* Â* Â*I meditate and this helped me to stay focused and keep my balance and peace through the journey.
    19. Â* Â* Â*BELIEVE in yourself! Stay positive and focused. Remember that any bad days will pass, they really do!
    20. Â* Â* Â*If you have a crappy day, own it and breathe through it. Tomorrow will be a better day!
    21. Â* Â* Â*Mint tea cures headaches, mouth and body odors too.
    22. Â* Â* Â*Do not ingest anything other than listed for the MC!

    BENEFITS:
    1. Â* Â* Â*Arthritis pain in knees went away (I credit the healing properties of the cayenne and use it whenever I need it. Stopped taking celebrex for arthritis too!
    2. Â* Â* Â*Incredible increased energy levels, like superwoman!
    3. Â* Â* Â*Sex with my hubby was even better.
    4. Â* Â* Â*Regained self-confidence.
    5. Â* Â* Â*High blood pressure controlled.
    6. Â* Â* Â*No more high cholesterol.
    7. Â* Â* Â*Can walk, run, do yoga and swim like used to do with great ease!
    8. Â* Â* Â*I smelled of lemons, skin was even silkier and glowed.
    9. Â* Â* Â*Intuition increased
    10. Â* Â* Â*Learned the difference between being hungry and just craving foods because they taste good. This makes it easier to resist temptations.
    11. Â* Â* Â*I am happy again!

    That’s all I can think of for now. Will share more as we continue our journey.
